EMPLOYMENT
Sr. Software Engineer &
Release Manager
Certent, Inc. February 2005 – October 2015
Software Engineer most recently completed the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
module for the Certent platform using VB.NET and Oracle SQL backend
for the Web-Form based Certent SaaS product. Also knowledgeable in C#, MVC,
Javascript, JQuery and NetSuite SuiteCloud Platform.
• Coded the ESPP module for Certent platform, using VB.NET and Oracle SQL backend for a Web Forms
based SaaS product. The ESPP product has provided a solid revenue stream for Certent.
• Applied ESPP updates and enhancements for Certent clients like Workday, TriNet, MSSB & Fidelity.
• Performed maintenance on many non-ESPP areas of the Certent application as needed in response to
customer needs. Including our EDI Importer, Stock Process Vesting and Deferrals, Stock Security Transactions
and Compensation Expense Reports.
• Designed & coded a C#, NetSuite API(Cloud SOAP based) to Team Foundation Server API Issue extractor
Work Item creator. Nightly, this Software would scan NetSuite for newly created Issues, then create new TFS
WorkItems for each. Without this, Product Managers would manually have to copy NetSuite Issue
information into a new WorkItem for all new Issues found.
• I was the Release Manager for weekly Hotfix, Service Packs and Major releases since 2010, ensuring that
these releases fully complied with our SSAE-16 annual audits. This included calling for branch lockdowns,
ensuring engineers had checked-in to proper branches, that they had tasks completed ontime & following up
with QA when testing gets close to schedule milestone dates.
• Recently, as Certent converted to Agile development environment, I ensured SSAE-16 compliance and
coordinated releases with the Product Owners.
Software Engineer, Embedded Alloptic September 2000 – February 2005
• Designed and coded embedded communication software for a 68020-based Switch Control
Module(SCM) card for an Ethernet Passive Optical Network(EPON) product. This functionality provided
Configuration, Status and Redundancy control on the product chassis.
• Designed and coded ‘keep alive’ polling for all system hardware modules. Implemented this using a
coded Finite State Machine.
• Designed and coded a timer utility for other tasks in the system. They would register how many ticks
they needed of the system clock and a callback pointer to a subroutine that would process after those ticks
expired. This utility saved use of the RTOS timer.
