Vendor Managed Inventory System is a Supply Chain Execution platform, it is popularly
known as VMI. VMI is a process in which a supplier generates orders for its customer based
on demand information sent by the customer. VMI provides improved visibility ac ross the
supply-chain pipeline that helps manufacturers, suppliers and retailers improve production
planning, reduce inventory, improve inventory turnover and improve stock availability.
The customer services are improved with the use of VMI application. It reduces the need for
the customer to monitor the level of goods and place an order. Through this process the
errors that occur due to the improper ordering are reduced; which in turn reduces the
