2. What Have I Learnt About
Technologies?
The first piece of equipment
that we used when
constructing our opening
sequence was the Mac
computers, and while these
were very useful as they had
the software that we needed
in order to make our movie
flow smoothly a disadvantage
would be that as it was my
first time using it, it was
difficult to get to grips with it
and this meant that some of
our uploading and editing
took a lot longer than we
planned.

3. Camera
The second piece of equipment that I
used was the camera and tripod. This
was they key thing that we used as
without it we wouldn’t have been able
to do the filming, but like the Mac it
had some disadvantages as again we’d
never worked with anything similar to
it so it meant that we had to
experiment with different things. As
our movie was obviously supposed to
be very naturalistic by using the tripod
we could ensure that our shots were
not as shaky and this made it easier
for us as we didn’t have to film the
same thing over and over again.

4. Blogger
The next piece of
technology we used was
Blogger and this was very
useful especially for our
research and planning as
then each member of the
group could upload what
they’d done and we knew
what everybody had
completed. However,
sometimes there were
technical difficulties and
something could not be
done and this takes away
some of the reliability.

5. Imovie
The next piece of equipment that we used
was imovie and because of the features
on there we could put our movie together
and figure out what we needed to keep.
As mentioned earlier, it was a piece of
technology that was unfamiliar to me and
the other members of my group so we
found it difficult to really work with it but
once we got the hang of it, we found it
useful and helpful. While using iMovie we
used an instrumental song which really
helped to add atmosphere to our opening
whilst hopefully grabbing the attention of
our audience.

6. Bubbl.us
Another piece of technology
that we used was the website
bubbl.us which is a site in which
you can create mindmaps and
we used it while we were
planning our initial ideas. I
found it useful as it was easy to
use and it saved us time and as
we could upload it to the group
blog it meant that we never lost
focus on what we were
supposed to be doing or what
kind of steps we needed to take
to move forward.

7. YouTube
The final piece of technology we used
that was helpful both when we were
researching and planning and also when
we finally put together our final project.
It was useful when we were researching
and planning as we could clips and
trailers for movies that we were
researching and this meant that our blog
looked more interesting and this meant
that the people reading it didn’t have
too much text to read. It was also helpful
when we had put together our entire
movie as then we could upload it to
YouTube and this was useful when doing
these evaluation activities as everybody
could access it.
