1. Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do
you feel you have learnt during the process to full
product?
2. As you can see there is a considerable difference from the prelim task to the final product. The prelim
task was quite basic as it only consisted of a few images and a little amount of text. Where as the final
products has more images on it and there are also cover lines which give the reader an insight into the
magazine. This was also the same for my contents page. On the prelim task I used a lain background,
with a boring title and font style and also a couple of unedited images. However, with my final product
there has been more thought gone into the page design and the images I used have all been edited in
some way.
3. As you can see, the masthead I created for my prelim task is
very basic and looks quite amateur as I did not have much
experience with the technology. However, for my final product
you can see there has been a considerable improvement. I
now have more experience with the technology and it
produced a more professional finish.
4. There has been a massive improvement from my prelim photoshoot to my final product
shoot. As you can see the image is of a much higher quality as there is no blur to it. This
is because I used a specialist camera to do my shoot this time as I wanted to create a
professional looking magazine. After researching pre-existing products, I noticed that
there tends to only be one model on the front cover main image. This however was not
the case in my prelim task but I took this into consideration and made the necessary
changes when creating my final product.
As well as this, I have also improved my Photoshop skills as on the prelim task I was
unsure how to use the technology so I only cropped my main image, whereas with my
final product I have cropped it, changed the effect, brightened it up and also conducted
some editing.
5. As you can see there has
been a lot more thought
gone into the miss-en-
scene with the final
product compared to the
prelim task. The image on
the prelim task is in a
standard corridor and
there is no meaning to it.
The models are also
chose what they wanted to
where instead of me
choosing the outfit for
them
With my final product there has been more consideration with the miss-en-
scene. I chose to do my photoshoot in an outdoor location as well as
dressing my model in casual clothes and making sure she had minimal
makeup, because I wanted to show my audience that you can still be popular
and glamourous whilst being natural and down to earth at the same time.
