1. HeirList Mobile Application
(Available in Apple & Google Play Stores)
Premium Services

This file contains a description of the functions included with a Premium subscription to the HeirList
application. For many, the Basic (free) subscription will be adequate, especially if you are just
completing HeirList for yourself and do not wish to enter in anything in the Notes section. This sheet is
not for the Knowledge Base, the contents of that are best reviewed on the HeirList.com website, which
also contains some examples to review, along with names of over a dozen of the subjects covered.
The four Premium Services are:
Collaboration – allowing multiple people to work on the account of the same deceased person
Notes – a user input area where one can write information related to Questions, Items or just in General
Reporting – six detailed reports containing close to 200 pages of details on work completed or required
Support – advanced support on using the application (in addition to over 100 FAQs & 40 plus videos)
‘Collaboration’ allows for multiple people to work on the same account of a deceased person. Given
that multiple family members, or even professionals, may all wish to coordinate and record their actions
and progress in a single repository, this is an excellent feature to enable. A Master User can invite
multiple people to be either ‘Write’ (ability to change answers to Questions or Items, and write Notes) or
simply ‘Read Only’ (unable to make changes, but allowed to see all the answers and activity). This also
allows the Master User to transfer the role of Master to someone else, either an existing user or someone
new, in the event that they can no longer perform that role or be involved. This feature enables a family
or group to utilize the mobile application as a command center with everyone having instantaneous
updates on progress and allowing people to divide and conquer with respect to all of the work. All users
in any shared collaboration of a deceased account are required to have a Premium Subscription.
‘Notes’ is a function that allows for all Premium users to write (type) things inside the application.
There are three different kinds of notes. General notes are not attributed to any specific question or
item. They are higher level or broad commentary most likely covering multiple areas. There are also
Question Notes as well as Item Notes. These serve as locations where a user can record information
related to an individual question or item.
Some of the possible uses of Notes include:
Provide an overview or focus to all users using a General Note
Update the status of a Question or Item, particularly if it is not answered or closed out
Record the discovery of information related to a specific Question or Item
Clarify the rationale for the answer to a Question or Item (e.g. why it is not applicable)
Log a reminder for themselves
Record a date for an event or deadline
Provide an assignment for another user; divide up work for each person to focus on
Keep a log of key information on the progress for an open Item
Also, we strongly discourage users from keeping PII (Personally Identifiable Information) inside the
application, as though security measures are in place to protect data, if government agencies can be
hacked, one should always assume there is a risk. This is more critical for pre-deceased preparation.

(Available in Apple & Google Play Stores)
‘Reporting’ refers to the six different reports (PDF files) that are available to be emailed anytime
showing different attributes of progress and information capture across all users on a deceased account.
These are excellent tools to distribute information and also capture and review status for follow-up and
assignment of tasks. The reports total close to 200 pages between them, and cover the entirety of all of
the questions and items (Report is most of this, close to 150 pages). These are also excellent tools to
have sent to a Premium user who then can forward them on to people not using the app but interested in
the information contained. They can be excellent tools for updating a large family or interested group.
The six reports enabled at launch include:
1. Open Items Remaining – shows individual Item numbers per Category and current Item Status
2. Questions & Answers – shows the answers to all 100 Questions, with ‘who’ & date of the answer
3. Top Level Overview – counts by Category of Item Status with percentages to understand progress
4. All Items & Current Status – a line for each of the 941 Items with status, user and date of answer
5. All Notes Details – all of the notes from General, Questions and Items with user who entered them
6. All User Information – all information with respect to the User and their Deceased from database
‘Support’ is simply assistance for Premium users in how to use the application. Our FAQs (over 100)
and Help Videos (more than 30) are very comprehensive, but we will also provide more directed support
for Premium users when required. The Basic users will have access to a Bug reporting feature for
possible anomalies found in the application. The application had over 600 different tests performed
before its release, so we are not anticipating a lot of bugs to be discovered. But there are always bugs.
The primary interaction will be via email and there is a screen which facilitates this.
The core functionality of the Basic Subscription may be adequate for some, and would be encouraged
for those simply completing the form for their spouse, children or executor. The advanced services are
excellent supporting tools for those who are working on an actual deceased account, or prefer or require
the involvement of others. Also, when one cancels a Deceased account (Delete button under Edit
Deceased, only available for a Master User) the final values of all data and consolidated into the Report
formats above and sent via email to the Master User for future referral or to forward to someone else in
case they would like to recreate that account.
Thank you again for your consideration of our Premium Services and we wish you the best of luck!
