AUAWMB hosted its signature Career Forum 2015, at
Thomas Philip Advocates & Solicitors on 30th
May 2015.
The distinguished speakers are made up of employers
from different career industries, including Laws,
Engineering, Commerce, Architecture, Medicine and
Information Technology and 60 students of the
University of Adelaide came to meet them via video-
conferencing.
Here are the profiles of the respective employers:-
Eddie Law, founder of eLawyer.com.my, the largest online legal community in Malaysia. He
provided career options for the legal profession and shared tips for interviews with law
students.
Michael Lim is from Ericsson Malaysian. He spoke about the employment prospects in the
engineering industry.
Jason Tan is the member of MIA. He obtained his ACCA qualification and is now working as
an accountant for Genting Plantations.
Isaac Teng is a sole proprietor as well as a freelance architect. He reminded students to
pursue their career with passion and have a positive attitude.
Eddie Wong works as an internal medicine specialist in Hospital Selayang.
Ng Tuck Bin is from Dimension Data (Malaysia) and he shared his working experience in the
IT field with the students.
The Career Forum 2015 commenced with a welcome speech by Ong Jit Seng, President of
AUAWMB. The President gave an informative background of AUAWMB. The President
emphasised that the objective of Career Forum 2015 is to provide for the current students
in the University of Adelaide, a platform to engage their potential future employers.
Every employer had 10 minutes to speak about their respective industries and this was
followed by a question and answer session. The question and answer session was exciting
and interactive. Most of the questions were answered and further tips were provided by
the employers. During the 10 minutes, the employers delivered and shared their challenging
experience, background and insight on job prospects in Malaysia.

The students not only could discover their interests, opportunities and choices that are in
store for them in Malaysia, they learned how to conduct themselves and prepare for the
potential jobs in Malaysia. This way, knowledge and skills gained by students from
University can be applied to a large number of different roles.
The President ended the event by informing the students that the Career Forum 2015 is a
prerequisite for applying for the 2015-2016 Malaysian Summer Internship program, where
Malaysia students are able to gain valuable industry experience over their summer holidays.
