TESTIMONIAL
“Indonesian Career Expo was a very good opportunity for companies in Indonesia to recruit
young Indonesian talent. It is intended to bridge the gap between companies operating in
Indonesia and Indonesian students studying in Melbourne.
This is where companies have the opportunity to recruit prospective employees.
Being held at a university and open for students studying across Melbourne, the career expo will
enable companies to gain access to a wide pool of future fresh graduates. It is a great idea to
bring them home and we can build a better Indonesia!”
Andit B Pratomo - HSBC
“Indonesian Career Expo 2014 was a great and beneficial event. We recommend for this event to
be held annually. We had a successful recruitment of 25 people through this event, 19 people in
the first batch and another 6 people who will be joining us in January 2015.”
Jahja - Lippo

ABOUT INDONESIAN CAREER EXPO
The numbers of Indonesian students studying overseas are increasing significantly and steadily.
With no surprise, Melbourne is one of the most popular destinations for these students to pursue a better
education given the array of world-class universities it has, especially The University of Melbourne.
According to the Department of Immigration, there are 11,670 Indonesian students enrolled in Australian
educational institutions as of June 2012. Among those, 40% are studying in Victoria. For Indonesian
students studying overseas, their ultimate goal will be to secure a job after they graduate. However, there
is a growing concern with our job talents as more students decide to find jobs overseas and refuse to
return to Indonesia. This is also known as ‘brain drain’. Melbourne University Indonesian Students
Association (MUISA) as the official association representing Indonesian students in the University of
Melbourne has successfully held the Indonesian Career Expo in 2014, known as ICarE. Following the
success of the first Indonesian Career Expo ever in Melbourne, MUISA would like to subsequently hold
the second Indonesian Career Expo in 2015. This event intends to bridge the gap between Indonesian
companies and Indonesian students studying in Melbourne.
We expect that students will have the opportunity to:
Gain more insights about company profiles
Discuss diverse career opportunities available
Expand their professional network
Hear top companies present seminars on career pathways and opportunities.
Submit their resumes and express their interest working for the exhibiting companies
The next ICarE will be held from the 16th
to 17th
of May 2015 at The University of Melbourne,
Parkville Campus. Additionally, a pre-event will be held one week prior at the University of Melbourne to
promote and gain the students’ awareness towards ICarE. All of ICarE’s events are free of charge and
open to public. We intend to exhibit 18 companies from diverse industries, including, but not limited to,
accounting firms, consulting firms, engineering firms, and the media industry.

every deal in accordance to the agreements made. We extend our warmest welcome to

Sponsorship Benefit
1. ICarE 2015 provides the perfect platform for companies to recruit high standard
prospective employees. With participating students coming from Australia’s finest
universities, the expo guarantees companies access to a wide pool of future fresh
graduates who are enthusiastic, passionate and confident of their knowledge.
2. To provide an opportunity for companies to gain new perspectives and fresh ideas, as
students studying abroad have been exposed to working together with people from
diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This shapes them to become global-minded
individuals, enabling them to contribute towards the company’s continuity in terms of
operating at a global standard.
3. To provide a platform for companies to further develop strong awareness among job
seekers abroad. It enables participating companies to expose their names, encourage
talented job seekers to consider them, and the opportunity to have first-hand
conversations with prospective employees in a one-stop environment. Moreover, with the
respective packages’ offerings, companies are able to get acquainted with excellent
connections through the various marketing materials sent out.
4. ICarE 2015 firmly regards all stakeholders, especially supporting companies, as partners.
We aim to develop long-term partnerships with our supporting companies to enhance
cooperation and increase learning opportunities. Furthermore, supporting companies will
have the opportunity to take part in encouraging Indonesian students to return and
contribute back to Indonesia’s future.
