Communication As a patrolman I secured the commercial, residential and rural parts of Waveland, MS.
I continued my education in DUI certification which included the security of other
drivers, pedestrian and properties along with how to use the Intoxilizer. Secured all
paperwork including arrest records. I received the 100 club, 200 club along with the
300 club in which they had to create a new pin to recognize me. Attended all law
enforcement related classes that the City could offer. Obtained certification on
running radar. I was responsible for the security of sensitive information for all of my
cases as a patrolman. Was responsible for working all felony cases reported to the
criminal investigations department.
As a criminal Investigator I was expected to investigate all felony cases assigned to
me. I also was expected to aid and assist other criminal investigators. I was certified
in the purpose and usage of NCIC (National Crime Center) which was run by the FBI. I
was tasked with logging all the transactions and securing the paperwork for the State

Auditors investigation which was conducted each year. I followed each of my cases
through initial appearances, hearings and Mississippi courts disposition. I securely
retained all case information in case of appeal or retrial.
As a Chief Investigator I was responsible for all cases assigned to any Waveland
Criminal Investigators. I was the lead investigator in any cases deemed high profile.
Ensured that the city Mayor was apprised of all cases requiring his attention.
As a Narcotics Investigator I was part of the first Hancock County Narcotic’s Task
Force. This task force was run by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, and
comprised investigators from multiple police forces. This unit was responsible for
working all felony narcotics cases. The Task force worked undercover cases along
with all other narcotics issues in Hancock County. We also attempted to identify
unknown narcotics dealers in the area. Our unit was highly regarded by the DEA
(Drug Enforcement Agency) and Customs.
As the police Chief I was responsible for all actions that were conducted on a daily
base by the whole Waveland Police department. I was under the supervision of the
Mayor and five aldermen. I was responsible for putting together the budget for the
whole department and ensured that we kept the budget within the restraints voted
on by the City Council. I created Waveland’s first Standard Operating Manual for the
Waveland PoliceDepartment. Themanual included everything from work instructions
to disciplinary plans for violators. I also upgraded the department’s communications
systems to a level used by nationally recognized law enforcement agencies. I
obtained Waveland Police’s first server and computer system. I oversaw the security
and maintenance of all of Waveland Police’s IT Department.
Leadership Received many different awards from different organizations, was president of the E-
911 board. Belonged to the Mississippi Law enforcement officer association, the
Mississippi Chiefs Association and the National Chiefs association of Police.
