2. BUYER PERSONA
Slide 2b
▸ Harrison is a computer science student here at the
University of Michigan. He and a few other Graduate
students are working on an MDP project with Acxiom.
Their goal is to develop a deep learning algorithm,
which requires the use of parallel computing. This
means that he and his group need access to a large
network of computers that individually don’t need to be
particularly powerful. Because they are students and
are still in the development stage, they don’t
particularly care for the reliability of the network.
Because they have limited funding, Harrison cannot
resort to using AWS because of budget constraints.
They have tried to explore other options, but there are
none available to their knowledge that meet their
budget needs. If he and his group fail to accomplish the
project, their internship offers for Acxiom will be at risk.

Think
- Need other options aside from AWS
- Too expensive
See
- He and his team cannot find a solution
- No other solution
Feel
- Extreme pressure
- Worried
- Wants to quit
Do
- Cannot do anything
- Try to ask for a higher budget
4. SELLER PERSONA
Slide 2b
▸ Joey is another computer science student at
the University of Michigan. Before he joined
school, he initially thought that he would
have time to play games and purchased a
powerful custom-built computer. However,
given that he is an EECS student who is
busy with school, the desktop computer is
usually left idle. Joey realizes that his
investment is going to waste. Joey decided
to venture into the idea of Bitcoin mining,
but realized that he didn’t have the CPU
power to do so. Joey needs a way to
recover his investment.

Think
- He has a valuable resource and it’s
going to waste
See - Computer is sitting idle at home
Feel
- Feels guilty for not using his computer
- Needs to do something about it
Do - Attempted Bitcoin mining only to fail

15. HYPOTHESIS:
Slide 3X
▸ If Armada provides a cheaper option for renting
computing resources, users would be willing to migrate
over from utilizing commercialized computing resources
such as AWS.
WHAT TO LEARN:
▸ Do the pros out weigh the cons?
▸ Do the reputations of commercialized computing
resources eclipse Armada’s offerings?
