2. Laptop
• A Laptop is a computer which is portable and for use while
traveling. combines the components and inputs as a desktop
computer; including display, speakers, keyboard, and mouse
into a single device. Powered by either a rechargeable
battery, or by mains electricity via an AC adapter.
3. Tablet
• A tablet is a mobile computer with display, circuitry and
battery in a single unit. Tablets are equipped with
cameras, microphone, accelerometer and touchscreen, with
finger or stylus gestures replacing computer mouse and
keyboard. Tablets may include physical buttons, to control
basic features such as speaker volume and to charge the
battery.
4. Desktop
• A desktop computer is a personal computer in a form
intended for regular use at a single location desk/table due to
its size and power. A desktop usually includes a computer
monitor, keyboard and mouse, and a case that houses the
main components of the PC, namely the power
supply, motherboard, hard drive, optical drive, and previously
the floppy drive. The form factor of the case is typically an
upright tower or (horizontal) desktop.

• A server is a system that responds to requests across a
computer network to provide a network service. Servers can
be run on a dedicated computer, but many networked
computers are capable of hosting servers. In many cases, a
computer can provide several services and have several
servers running.

• A smartphone is able to perform many of the functions of a
computer, typically having a relatively large screen and an
operating system capable of running applications. modern
smartphones also include high-resolution touchscreens and
web browsers that display standard web page. High-speed

• A video game console is a device that outputs a video signal
to display a video game. It is a machine designed for
consumers to use for playing video games on a separate
television in contrast to arcade machines, handheld game
consoles, or home computers.
8. Embedded systems
• An embedded system is a computer system with a dedicated
function within a larger mechanical or electrical system. For
example BMW iDrive is a computer system which is used to
control such things as the climate (air conditioner and
heater), the audio system (radio and CD player), the
navigation system and communication system in many current
BMW cars. iDrive's user interface consists of a LCD panel
mounted in the dashboard and a controller knob mounted on
the center console.
