1. The headline is the

In the picture he is

The publisher has used
a bold capital to open
the paragraph, which

In the top right corner is credits the photographer who was Tom Oxley. It
also quotes in the strap line ‘ no smugness’ which means he is prepared for
his revenge and he wont be holding back. They use a 3 point lightening
because they are in a studio.
The connotation of this image is to make the viewer think that Mark is
ready to make the biggest come ever, however the denotation is that Mark
is just smashing a trumpet to make the viewer think he is angry. The target
audience would be older people because there is a lot of writing.

2. The dominant image is taken from a mid shot from the waist up.
Mark has a facial expression of a serious business man, the frown
might represent the way he feels at the moment in the industry.
The way the trumpet is snapped is like he has just torn it apart
because he is furious for some reason. The connotation of this
image is that the viewer thinks that Mark has a problem with
something. Although Mark looks scary and serious he is wearing
quite casual clothes, which this might represent his other side
which is calm and relaxed. The writing of Mark’s name is in bold
orange to draw the readers eye straight to the magazine. The
trumpet that he has snapped might connote that he is not going
to do any more nice and soft music. On top of the magazine is a
skyline which is telling the buyer that there is free things inside,
this will entice the reader because who doesn't like free things.
On the bottom we have other artists name which the public might
like. I think this magazine company has Mark on the front cover
because they are trying to widen there target audience. I think
the target audience of this magazine would be teenagers because
Marks songs can relate to teenagers and more younger people
will know him than older people. In the top right hand corner they
have the date and the price of the magazine in small writing so
the viewers eyes don’t get drawn to it.
