2. Kings Of Leon
_Only_By_The_Night
• The art included on the advert to draw attention to the album is the album art. This art is fairly
complex but it includes The members of the band, although they are fused with an eagle.
• The advert has the band name at the centre top of it and below the art in the same font and size, the
album name. The album name is in a different colour, perhaps to distinguish the difference between
the name of the band and the album name.
• Below the album name in white there is information on the album, albeit very limited. It tells the
audience that some of the hits that the band has had around that time, are in the album. This is to
persuade fans of those songs to buy the album to not only listen to those songs, but to listen to the
other tracks on the album, and become fans who will buy the other albums that Kings Of Leon
release.
• There is a red “OUT NOW” that basically, tells the audience that the album has been released and
they can now buy it.
• The text at the very bottom is telling the audience where they can access this album. “PLAY.com”
and another unseen place where the people can access the album.
• Overall, the advert is very simplistic and shows limited information, provoking curiosity from the
audience.
3. Florence + The Machine
LUNGS
• Similarly to the Kings Of Leon advert, this advert has the album art to draw attention and to
remind the audience of the album and what it looks like.
• This advert also has the title of the artist and the album name above and below the album
art.
• The information below the album name like the Kings Of Leon advert tells the audience
what popular songs are included in the album.
• This album has a release date as it was published before the album was released. It is
very simplistic.
• There is a website link that will provide more information to the audience, creating curiosity
.
• The advert tells the audience what will physically be inside the album and what the album
will be released onto, telling the audience; “CD. DELUXE CD. VINYL. DIGITAL”.
• In conclusion, this album is fairly simplistic outside of the album art, which is more
complex. The advert is very similar to the King Of Leon advert.
4. ADELE
21
• This advert is for Adele’s album 21.
• This advert has a photo of Adele, that was in the same photo shoot as the
album art, which is shown in the bottom left corner.
• Similarly to the other adverts, this has the name and title distinguished
although they are besides each other this time. The “21” is in a lime green
colour, as well as the album art and the “AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE NOW”.
• This advert has similar connotations to the other adverts, this advert tells the
audience of one popular song and one award that Adele has received.
• In conclusion, this advert is simplistic and contains a lot of reference to the
album, just like the other adverts I have analysed.
