You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para
las descripciones. La primera ha sido hecha como ejemplo.

New York is a big city in the
United States (North
America). It takes thousand
of visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central
Park, the Metropolian
museum and Time’s Square.
In the picture you can see the
Statue of Liberty, a monumet
built between 1875 and 1986.
It is 93 meters tall. The statue
is located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.

2. Rome is the capital of Italy. The
city has a population of
approximately 2.9 million
people. Italy has the Grand
Canal in Venice, where you can
ride boats. Rome has many
traditional buildings with
impressive historical content. In
the image you can see Saint
Peter's Basilica. Rome has
three very ancient Egyptian
obelisks; one of these in the
main square. Obelisks are
elongated quadrangular towers
mounted on a base. Rome has
a sculpture called The Laocoon,
located in the Vatican; The
statue represents a Trojan priest
from Apollo who during the
Trojan War opposed the entry of
the wooden horse into the city.
Rome (Italy) – Saint Peter’s Square
Sydney is the largest and most
populous city in Australia. The
city has a population of
approximately 4.92 million
people. In the image you can
see the building "Sydney Opera
House". It is one of the most
traditional buildings of the 20th
century and was declared a
World Heritage Site in 2007.
The image also shows the
Sydney Harbor Bridge. The
¨Anzac memorial¨ is a museum
and memorial to the war, has a
water source and is located in
the central district of Sydney.

3. Edinburgh Castle is an ancient
fortress built on a hill that has a
volcanic rock and is located in
the center of the city of
Edinburgh. The castle is open to
visitors and is part of Scotland's
most visited paid tourist
attraction. It was built from the
12th century and used for
military purposes.

Dubai is one of the seven
emirates that make up the
United Arab Emirates. It is
located on the coast of the
Persian Gulf, in the Arabian
desert; Dubai is home to the
Burj Khalifa, the largest and
most modern skyscraper in the
world. Dubai Moll is a shopping
center in Dubai and is
characterized by being the
largest in the world.
