Subject: Recommendation Letter for J Michael Beckman
I strongly recommend my colleague, Mike Beckman, for employment. I have had the pleasure
of working alongside him for 20 years and he has consistently demonstrated his commitment and
drive to do whatever he can to make HP and the Business he supports successful.
In the earlier part of our working relationship Mike managed our Contract Accountants in our
Controllership Team and I was the Business Finance Manager driving the P&L for our
Consulting and Integration Business. Partnering between Controllership and the Business was
critical and our Teams worked very closely to escalate Project concerns and review and drive
recovery plans to ensure the best possible Revenue and Margin results for HP.
We also worked together through the Merger of Digital with Compaq and then Compaq with HP
to drive all the Integration aspects around Systems, Processes and Policies and make sure
everything remained in Compliance through the process.
Since 2011 Mike and I Partnered to support HP’s AMS Software Services organization, working
closely together in our Finance and Business Operations roles to drive the Budgeting,
Forecasting and Close processes for the Business as well as all aspects in between of managing
an end to end P&L.
Mike is an excellent employee. He’s committed to the Company he works for and is very loyal
to the Business he supports. He is a good Leader to the Teams he manages and takes personal
interest in mentoring and developing their talent. He works tirelessly to get the work done, he’s
very hands-on, engaged in the details, not just tops-down management. He keeps his
commitments and delivers quality results.
