1. To Whom It May Concern
It is my great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Edward G. Miller. I have had the
pleasure of viewing Mr. Miller’s professional development over the past 20 years, and I can state with
confidence that he is a distinctly motivated and responsible person with a high degree of integrity. As
such, I expect that he will be a very positive and productive addition to your institution.
As the President & CEO of Grafica, Inc., I feel that I know Mr. Miller quite well. He began working as a
Controller/System Manager in our company’s Accounting Department after he left ADP Brokerage
Services where he received glowing accolades as a Senior Financial Network Administrator. In his role
as Controller/System Manager at Grafica, he had a considerable amount of responsibilities, and he
handled them effortlessly. He provided instrumental leadership in devising, implementing, and
managing financial reporting, customer account management, and forecasting tools.
Having been promoted multiple times throughout his tenure, he eventually became one of three
officers and an executive partner of Grafica, Inc., an award-winning 30 years old, advertising firm.
Present and past clients included Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Prudential, the New Jersey Lottery,
among many others. He concurrently managed and nurtured working relationships with all financial
partners including bank representatives, attorneys, third-party accountants, and benefit brokers.
We promoted him to the role of Chief Financial Officer, as we felt he had already proven his financial
acumen, management and communication skills and would be suitable for this position. He proved us
right. He became an important, effective, and integral part of our management team. Some of the key
contributions he made included: Reengineered the forecasting process implementing annual budgeting
and quarterly forecasting processes; Negotiated significant savings and employee benefit advantages;
Managed several reduction-in-force initiatives as well as capitalized on opportunities for cost and
efficiency savings to stem operational losses; Successfully navigated complex audit/taxation issues;
these are but a few of Ed’s outstanding accomplishments while at Grafica.
Ed takes the initiative to identify problems and devise solutions. His role requires strong
communication skills, and he has shown that he not only has these skills, but he also has the ability to
inspire respect and cooperation in teammates. He has shown he is a very intelligent person with a
mind well-suited to the world of finance, technology, and business management.
I therefore highly recommend him without reservation. I sincerely hope that you give his application
favorable consideration.
Sincerely,
Debra A. Taeschler
President & CEO
Grafica, Inc.
