![Health-Related Fitness Unit Essential Question: Why is it important for students to maintain a healthy level of physical fitness for life? Unit Question: What are activities students can learn in the classroom, but use outside the classroom as well that will help them remain physically active? Unit Summary: During this unit, the students will be introduced to different types of activities that they can not only participate in during class but outside as well. These activities are excellent ways for the students to remain active outside the classroom as well. Role of Teacher: The role of the teacher during this unit will be to introduce a variety of activities to the students. Role of Parent: The role of the parent is to encourage his/her child to engage in some sort of physical activity after school. Role of Student: The role of the student is to try and learn about as many different activities that can be a fun way to help them remain physically active. Benefits of Unit: This unit is good because as a physical education teacher, we want our children to be as active as possible. By introducing students to different activities they can enjoy afterschool, as well as during PE class; it allows students a chance to find an activity they might be interested in outside of the classroom.
