- 10. What do the programmes offer? • Understanding NHS • Door knocking • Accessing funding / financial expertise • Evaluation and evidence • Procurement • Regulatory approval • Commercial tools • Positioning, presenting , pitching
- 11. What products and services are we focused on? • Prevention • Increasing self management • Allowing remote management • Increasing community provision • Improving and speeding up diagnostics
- 13. Which areas do the programmes’ cover? Lancashire Lead Partner with Lancaster University as delivery partner Liverpool Delivery Partner with Liverpool CCG Lead Partner Cheshire & Warrington Lead Partner with GM AHSN as Delivery Partner )
- 14. Outcomes . . . The £6m programme value over the next 3 years will deliver: • Support 280 Healthcare small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) • 150 SMEs recruit additional staff due to expansion • 75 SMEs develop new products for the NHS • 50 New SMEs will be created

Cadscan • Cadscan, of Chester Gates, have developed a low-cost, on- demand system to manufacture effective insoles to reduce the risk of people with diabetes developing foot ulcers. • The system consists of a 3D foot scanner, 3D insole printer and software that can automatically design and manufacture a bespoke insole. • We are working with the company to start trials in hospitals, using the product to prevent people with diabetes from getting foot ulcers. Dr Alastair Buchanan, MD of Cadscan Limited, said: “With rising rates of diabetes, it was important for us to develop a way to prevent people developing diabetic foot ulcers in the first instance.”

Can you please raise your hands if you have a mobile phone? Nearly everyone! How many had one say 20 years ago? Not many With changes in technology we have all advanced our personal communication by investing in these.
- If you look at the evolution over the last few decades then it has been significant From phones being used principally for communication but now with Smart phones can be used for many things including health
- Whilst Communication is important surely so is our Health But has the technology in our Health Services improved at a similar rate? Yes, there have been developments but we need to do more? There are barriers to this advancements.
- This is what the Innovation Agency is here for. In a nut shell to bring innovation and technology into the NHS to make a difference!
