the risk of people with diabetes developing foot ulcers.
• The system consists of a 3D foot scanner, 3D insole printer
and software that can automatically design and
manufacture a bespoke insole.
• We are working with the company to start trials in
hospitals, using the product to prevent people with
diabetes from getting foot ulcers.
Dr Alastair Buchanan, MD of Cadscan Limited, said: “With
rising rates of diabetes, it was important for us to develop a
way to prevent people developing diabetic foot ulcers in the
first instance.”
