Hook And Introductory Letter
One strength of this student's letter is thought–provoking hook and introductory paragraph. The questions really grab the attention of the reader and
set the tone of the rest of the letter. For example, the questions, "Do you look up to a celebrity as a role model?" and "How much do you actually
know about them?", are great ways to keep the reader interested because they would want to see what the writer has to say about a celebrity being a
role model and why knowing about them is so important. The paragraph as a whole is well organized with a hook and some information about how
students "look up to athletes and famous celebrities without knowing much about them." However, a weakness of the student's letter is that the

The First And Hardest Part Of Writing An Essay
The first and hardest part of writing an essay is figuring out how to start. A professor may give a topic to be written about, but in some cases that
may not happen. The first step is to pick a topic. The topic will serve as your thesis. You want to pick a topic that you are relatively knowledgeable
about so you are not completely in the dark. By picking a topic that you know even a little about, will take away the anxiety of not knowing where
to start or what to write about. If you chose to challenge yourself and write a paper about something you are novice about, then you want to pick a
topic that is broad enough to find enough information about. For example, if you want to write a paper about cars, do not make cars what your
paper is about, because although it is a broad topic it is also somewhat narrow. Try to broaden your topic buy changing it to, "how cars have changed
our lives." Changing your topic to a more argumentative thesis gives you a pinpoint area to write about and leaves the door open to give you more to
write about. The second step, and what I believe to be the most important step is locating sources to support your thesis. A researchessay without
sources becomes an opinion essay, and that is what you as the writer want to stay away from. Sources make your essay more creditable. If your essay
is about "how technology has benefited students and teachers in the classrooms," then you should find sources that are about how technology is used in

Example Of An Introductory Paragraph
1. I like this because: I like how your hook in the introduction paragraph. You provided a good information so that readers can guess what is this essay
is about "But there are studies and claims that suggest that with cameras in the supermarket, they can predict what people are going to buy so that the
management places certain products in certain places to catch the attention of shoppers. Of course people don't see these cameras because they're
supposed to be hidden" (Bui).п»їп»їп»ї

(List of items or a time order?) I can follow through with the author's essay and understand his point of view. Are transitions used to connect
sentences and ideas? There are a few transitions sentences. For example "That a hard decision to make because they like that product but at the same
time they don't want to get tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). From this sentence, I could guess that the next paragraph would be about
making foods and probably for the family since family is kind of the theme in this essay.
Your comments: Your essay structure is good. However, I think you can add more transition sentence to make your essay become better.
Base 4: Sentence Skills
Are there any rough spots where the sentences do not flow smoothly and clearly? Overall, the essay was not hard to understand. Although there are a
few little errors. For example this sentence "That a hard decision to make because they like that product but at the same time they don't want to get
tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). I think what the author means is that family members will gather around in the holiday season. But when

The Four Types of Paragraphs
THE FOUR TYPES OF PARAGRAPHS (With Examples)
There are four types of paragraphs we write. They include: narrative, informative, descriptive, and persuasive. All paragraphs have certain elements, but
the four types are also different from one another in how they are composed. Look at the outline about paragraphs in general.
All paragraphs:
1. It has a strong beginning, or introduction sentence, which states the main idea clearly.
2. It has several supporting sentences which make up the body, and support the main idea. All sentences in the supporting details should back up, or
point to, that main idea. The details should be strong and vivid. The sentence structure and length should vary.
3. It has a strong concluding...show more content...
All that was left was the bathroom and my bedroom. I snuck into the bedroom, wielding the sharp knife in terror, and bent over to look under the
bed. No one was there. I silently released my breath and turned toward the closet. I opened the closet carefully and switched on the light. Again, no
one was there. I had one place left to look: the bathroom. This was probably the hardest place, because I had seen too many movies where someone
was hiding in the shower. Nonetheless, I crept into the tiny bathroom and flipped on the light switch. The navy blue shower curtain hung there
concealing whatever fate lay before me. I reached my hand out toward the curtain, paused a moment, steeling myself and summoning the last of
my courage, and committed myself to the search. I grabbed the edge of the curtain and whipped it back in a flash, preparing myself to use the
knife on the fiend hiding in there. I trembled as the knife dropped out of my hand. No one was there. Relief flooded me so strongly that I nearly
crumpled to the floor. Later, after I had called my boyfriend back, he remembered that he had gone by the apartment while I was gone and dropped
off a book I was reading. I had forgotten that he had a key. He had forgotten he'd been there and closed the door. That was one wild homecoming!

Analyzing The Introductory Paragraph
Three areas that the author could improve on are: thesis, format of the body, and format of the conclusion.
This author has a very unclear thesis. In the introductory paragraph, the author's arguments are outlined, but he does not write a concise thesis to
generalize his foremost thought. Usually the thesis is written as the last sentence of the introductory paragraph. However, this author ends the
introduction with, "The reasons and examples listed below will strengthen my point of view." Instead of concluding with a frivolous statement, the
author could have briefly listed his reasons. Unfortunately, he overlooks the thesis. Consequently, readers are forced to read between the lines, and this
can cause some misinterpretations such that the readers' understanding does not match the author's intended message. Needless to say, a thesis provides
a solid background on the topic and is the basis of the essay....show more content...
First, without a clear thesis, the content of the body paragraphs are without disposition. This is the case because body paragraphs of an essay are
supposed to support details expressed in the thesis. On that note, the author is unable to organize the body paragraphs according to the reader's best
interest. The body should always begin and end with a strong argument because readers tend to remember the first and last things they read. Without
proper essay structure, readers are more likely to forget the best arguments of the paper. For instance, the author should not have ended the last body
paragraph with, "Nowadays, he considers himself a successful person because he had turned into reality his two biggest dreams of producing
consumer goods of high quality and making charitable donations to needy people." By doing so, he concludes that paragraph with his proof and does
not reflect on his final argument which can cause readers to

Introductory Paragraph : Present Frames
Introductory comments – present frames to be leveraged As a kid growing up, I used to think that going to work, for an organization, was going to
be simple; go to work, do your job and leave when your shift is over. But as I got myself in to the workforce, it was nothing I have dreamt of. Going
to work is more than simply going into work, it involves being able to understanding the environment from the many perspectives. Each individual
may have different frames that they view their work environment but there are four main Frames as defined by Lee G. Bolman and Terrence E.
Deal. The four frames are Structural, Political, Human Resource and Symbol. Each of these frames have a significant impact in the organizational
environment and takes the view from different angels. The Case of Chris Cunningham involves all the different frames. As I read the case, I did my
analysis and placed myself in the Structural and Political frames. The case had prime examples of political power from many levels of the
organization. The political view of organization might seem strange in light of traditional assumptions of control from the top. These same dynamics
of conflict, coalitions, and power are found at every level of human affairs. MANN (1986, 2013) Background Review Brief overview of case

Thesis In The Introductory Paragraph
Base 1. 1.Is there a clearly stated thesis in the introductory paragraph? The thesis sentence includes the writer's opinion of whether the writer
disagrees or agrees to the argument of Gladwell. But I think the writer needs to write three reasons for supporting the opinion in the thesis sentence.
2.Do all the supporting paragraphs back up the thesis? The writers wrote three paragraphs for supporting the thesis sentence. So I was able to easily
read and understand the each paragraphs. However, I think the first sentence of the first paragraph needs more detail about why the writer disagrees
with the idea of surveillance. Comment : Overall, I was able to easily read this essay because the essay is obviously separated into 5 paragraphs, and

she needs at least two more citation for effectively finishing this argumentative essay. Base3 1.Is there a clear method of organization? (List of items

However, I was difficult to know the main topic sentence of each paragraph. 2.Are transitions used to connect sentences and ideas? She used diverse
transitions such as "Furthermore," and "Despite the fact that," for informing about next contents. I could predict that the following is her additional
opinion or opposite information. Comment: Each paragraph does own roles in the essay. First paragraph do as the introduction, and following three

Human rights has been an issue for quite some time. Every since the early days some people would restrich other people from doing things and

will cause the child to not want to be with their guardian.

Introduction to Psychology Essay examples
Introduction to Psychology The concern about life is a main human characteristic. No matter if his concern is concentrated in himself or in persons or
things that surround him and constitute his environment, everybody wants to know why people, himself included, behave the way they behave.
Everybody, also, wants to improve his behavior, so as to live in harmony with himself and the society. The Greek word Psychology, is a word consisted
of the words ψυχή–soul and λόγος–utterance, talk. So, generally, psychology is the science
that examines the soul. But , since the psychologists work on the problems of the personal, family, school, professional and social life, we could say,

The heartbeats, the movements of our head are behavior. The way we eat, the way we drink, the way we walk, we talk, are behavior. The
construction of a bridge, the composition of a song are behavior. The fantasies of a child, the dreams of a adolescent, the illusions of an alcoholic
are behavior. Although we are all familiar with human behavior, a little do we understand or we can explain about it. Since our infancy we learn
about behavior through the experiences and the knowledge that we get by observing other people or having relations with them. Living in society
leads us to watch and try to explain the way people behave. But that is not always easy. Sometimes we cannot understand even ourselves. Psychology
comes to give answers to all this uncertainty. Therefore, according to modern psychology, the term behavior means all the conscious, unconscious,
verbal, mental and kinetic expressions of ourselves. Psychology uses statistic researches so as to distinguish the normal behavior from the abnormal
one. Such a thing is very difficult because every society has its own behavior standards, and, consequently, an act that is normal according to one
society, may be abnormal according to another. For example, polygamy is not permitted in Europe, but it is permitted in certain societies in Africa. So,
the judgement of a behavior must bear in mind the social environment in which it takes place .

Ashford University Writing Center states that a paragraph has "three structural parts: a point, information, and an explanation. Point is described as the
topic sentence where the writer is making a claim. Information is considered the supporting evidence such as details, quotes, percentages, or other
details to support the claim. Explanation is described as an analysis or interpretation of the claim and the given information. If you struggle

After watching both videos the Introductory Paragraph and good HOOK, they helped me a in understanding how to write an attractive HOOK ! I
learned that the hook grabs the reader's attention and makes him/her excited to read what will come next and whether they want to continue reading or
not. There are five different types of hooks we use to grab our readers attention.
1) Inverted Pyramid
2) Fact or Statistics
3) Anecdote or personal experiences
4) Rhetorical Questions
5) Bold Pronouncements.
These videos showed me that there is an inverted pyramid style to writing the perfect hook. It starts with a broad abstract statement that is narrowed
down to our specific topic followed by a transition and the thesis. Selecting the facts and statistics

An Introduction to Globalization Essay
Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it generates growth or not is a matter of whose point
of view it is. The western countries, especially America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of globalization.
On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios
of poverty and social inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily triggered by the emergence of a
global market and facilitated by the democratization of communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more

We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the Internet, people are able to produce content and
distribute it in many different ways to infinite different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you are
able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India, America or any other place in the world. Messages are
overcoming huge distances because of technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is political.
Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries, which were brought about by the increase of trade at the
global level, the importance of both the activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the dialogue
between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the
importance given by nations' leaders to their self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent on the
businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where
nations' leaders struggle for status among the international political elite. The last set

Introduction Autism Essay
Introduction
Autism is on the rise. Many researchers feel the reasons isn't because there are more kids being afflicted with it, but the increased public awareness
has allowed this disorder to be more easily recognized and diagnosed at a earlier age. The word "autism" was first used by a Swiss psychiatrist
Eugene Bleuler in an article written in the American Journal of Insanity in 1912. It comes from the Greek word meaning self. Bleuler used it to
describe the schizophrenic's seeming difficulty in connecting with others ("Autism"). It wasn't until 1943 when the classification of autism was
introduced by Dr. Leo Kanner. Dr. Kanner, a psychiatrist from John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, reported on eleven child patients

Repetitive behaviors like head banging and repetitive routines are consistent for individuals with autism. If the routine is disturbed, he or she screams
and throws a temper tantrum (Wing, 24). Like their need for consistency in routines, autistics also need and demand absolute consistency in their
environment. Changes in their environment cause them to act negatively ("Autism"). And individual with autism has a different sensory system than
normal people, the stimulations are affected differently. For example, they have oversensitivity to light and this oversensitivity may cause seizures
("Autism"). At least one quarter of children with autism have an epilectic seizure before they become an adult. Other behaviors that may occur are
high levels or anxiety, odd fears (ex. of color or shape), and emotions that change from one extreme to the other (Wing 31+; Siegel 49). A common
myth about autistic individuals is that they cannot show affection ("Defining Autism"). Autistics show affection, but they are very precise about who
they show affection to. They have to be very comfortable with this person and their affection they show is not like normal children's. The affection is a
brief hug or something simple. On reason they do not show affection is they simply do not seek parental attention. As an infant the autistic child may
have appeared very calm and not cried very often ("Autism"). Even though these children

Introduction of Toyota Motor Corporation
Toyota 1. Introduction The Toyota Motor Corporation is a leading global enterprise, generating the eleventh largest revenues in the globe, and
representing the third largest automobile manufacturer in the world, after General Motors and the German group Volkswagen (Crown Motors). Toyota
is nowadays a leading retailer throughout the world, especially within the United States, and this leading position has been attained due to the
company's increased ability to understand the needs of the market and adapt to them. Throughout this project then, the emphasis would be placed on
the identification of the various opportunities and threats, as these emerge from the external environment and impact Toyota. These threats and
opportunities would be presented, as well as assessed based on the company's ability to respond to them. The initial hypothesis is that the company is
sufficiently skilled and capable to adequately address these threats and opportunities. 2. Opportunities for Toyota A first and foremost relevant example
of the external opportunities with which Toyota is presented includes the very reason which made the company become a leading retailer in the United
States, dethroning Ford. This namely refers to a series of changes within the society, which drove the consumers to seek more fuel efficient engines; for
instance, the fluctuating price of oil, the increasing costs with automobile maintenance or the growing concerns for pollution and greenhouse gases.

Hook And Introductory Letter

  • 1. Hook And Introductory Letter One strength of this student's letter is thought–provoking hook and introductory paragraph. The questions really grab the attention of the reader and set the tone of the rest of the letter. For example, the questions, "Do you look up to a celebrity as a role model?" and "How much do you actually know about them?", are great ways to keep the reader interested because they would want to see what the writer has to say about a celebrity being a role model and why knowing about them is so important. The paragraph as a whole is well organized with a hook and some information about how students "look up to athletes and famous celebrities without knowing much about them." However, a weakness of the student's letter is that the introductory paragraph Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The First And Hardest Part Of Writing An Essay The first and hardest part of writing an essay is figuring out how to start. A professor may give a topic to be written about, but in some cases that may not happen. The first step is to pick a topic. The topic will serve as your thesis. You want to pick a topic that you are relatively knowledgeable about so you are not completely in the dark. By picking a topic that you know even a little about, will take away the anxiety of not knowing where to start or what to write about. If you chose to challenge yourself and write a paper about something you are novice about, then you want to pick a topic that is broad enough to find enough information about. For example, if you want to write a paper about cars, do not make cars what your paper is about, because although it is a broad topic it is also somewhat narrow. Try to broaden your topic buy changing it to, "how cars have changed our lives." Changing your topic to a more argumentative thesis gives you a pinpoint area to write about and leaves the door open to give you more to write about. The second step, and what I believe to be the most important step is locating sources to support your thesis. A researchessay without sources becomes an opinion essay, and that is what you as the writer want to stay away from. Sources make your essay more creditable. If your essay is about "how technology has benefited students and teachers in the classrooms," then you should find sources that are about how technology is used in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

You provided a good information so that readers can guess what is this essay is about "But there are studies and claims that suggest that with cameras in the supermarket, they can predict what people are going to buy so that the management places certain products in certain places to catch the attention of shoppers. Of course people don't see these cameras because they're supposed to be hidden" (Bui).п»їп»їп»ї Base 1: Unity Is there a clearly stated thesis in the introductory paragraph? (List of items or a time order?) I can follow through with the author's essay and understand his point of view. Are transitions used to connect sentences and ideas? There are a few transitions sentences. For example "That a hard decision to make because they like that product but at the same time they don't want to get tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). From this sentence, I could guess that the next paragraph would be about making foods and probably for the family since family is kind of the theme in this essay. Your comments: Your essay structure is good. However, I think you can add more transition sentence to make your essay become better. Base 4: Sentence Skills Are there any rough spots where the sentences do not flow smoothly and clearly? Overall, the essay was not hard to understand. Although there are a few little errors. For example this sentence "That a hard decision to make because they like that product but at the same time they don't want to get tired of it and not hate it later in life" (Bui). I think what the author means is that family members will gather around in the holiday season. But when the first time I scan through the essay, it was quite Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Four Types of Paragraphs THE FOUR TYPES OF PARAGRAPHS (With Examples) There are four types of paragraphs we write. They include: narrative, informative, descriptive, and persuasive. All paragraphs have certain elements, but the four types are also different from one another in how they are composed. Look at the outline about paragraphs in general. All paragraphs: 1. It has a strong beginning, or introduction sentence, which states the main idea clearly. 2. It has several supporting sentences which make up the body, and support the main idea. All sentences in the supporting details should back up, or point to, that main idea. The details should be strong and vivid. The sentence structure and length should vary. 3. It has a strong concluding...show more content... All that was left was the bathroom and my bedroom. I snuck into the bedroom, wielding the sharp knife in terror, and bent over to look under the bed. No one was there. I silently released my breath and turned toward the closet. I opened the closet carefully and switched on the light. Again, no one was there. I had one place left to look: the bathroom. This was probably the hardest place, because I had seen too many movies where someone was hiding in the shower. Nonetheless, I crept into the tiny bathroom and flipped on the light switch. The navy blue shower curtain hung there concealing whatever fate lay before me. I reached my hand out toward the curtain, paused a moment, steeling myself and summoning the last of my courage, and committed myself to the search. I grabbed the edge of the curtain and whipped it back in a flash, preparing myself to use the knife on the fiend hiding in there. I trembled as the knife dropped out of my hand. No one was there. Relief flooded me so strongly that I nearly crumpled to the floor. Later, after I had called my boyfriend back, he remembered that he had gone by the apartment while I was gone and dropped off a book I was reading. I had forgotten that he had a key. He had forgotten he'd been there and closed the door. That was one wild homecoming! Informative paragraph An informative paragraph has the purpose to give information. It is based on

  • 6. Analyzing The Introductory Paragraph Three areas that the author could improve on are: thesis, format of the body, and format of the conclusion. This author has a very unclear thesis. In the introductory paragraph, the author's arguments are outlined, but he does not write a concise thesis to generalize his foremost thought. Usually the thesis is written as the last sentence of the introductory paragraph. However, this author ends the introduction with, "The reasons and examples listed below will strengthen my point of view." Instead of concluding with a frivolous statement, the author could have briefly listed his reasons. Unfortunately, he overlooks the thesis. Consequently, readers are forced to read between the lines, and this can cause some misinterpretations such that the readers' understanding does not match the author's intended message. Needless to say, a thesis provides a solid background on the topic and is the basis of the essay....show more content... First, without a clear thesis, the content of the body paragraphs are without disposition. This is the case because body paragraphs of an essay are supposed to support details expressed in the thesis. On that note, the author is unable to organize the body paragraphs according to the reader's best interest. The body should always begin and end with a strong argument because readers tend to remember the first and last things they read. Without proper essay structure, readers are more likely to forget the best arguments of the paper. For instance, the author should not have ended the last body paragraph with, "Nowadays, he considers himself a successful person because he had turned into reality his two biggest dreams of producing consumer goods of high quality and making charitable donations to needy people." By doing so, he concludes that paragraph with his proof and does not reflect on his final argument which can cause readers to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Introductory Paragraph : Present Frames Introductory comments – present frames to be leveraged As a kid growing up, I used to think that going to work, for an organization, was going to be simple; go to work, do your job and leave when your shift is over. But as I got myself in to the workforce, it was nothing I have dreamt of. Going to work is more than simply going into work, it involves being able to understanding the environment from the many perspectives. Each individual may have different frames that they view their work environment but there are four main Frames as defined by Lee G. Bolman and Terrence E. Deal. The four frames are Structural, Political, Human Resource and Symbol. Each of these frames have a significant impact in the organizational environment and takes the view from different angels. The Case of Chris Cunningham involves all the different frames. As I read the case, I did my analysis and placed myself in the Structural and Political frames. The case had prime examples of political power from many levels of the organization. The political view of organization might seem strange in light of traditional assumptions of control from the top. These same dynamics of conflict, coalitions, and power are found at every level of human affairs. • 8. Thesis In The Introductory Paragraph Base 1. 1.Is there a clearly stated thesis in the introductory paragraph? The thesis sentence includes the writer's opinion of whether the writer disagrees or agrees to the argument of Gladwell. But I think the writer needs to write three reasons for supporting the opinion in the thesis sentence. 2.Do all the supporting paragraphs back up the thesis? The writers wrote three paragraphs for supporting the thesis sentence. So I was able to easily read and understand the each paragraphs. However, I think the first sentence of the first paragraph needs more detail about why the writer disagrees with the idea of surveillance. Every since the early days some people would restrich other people from doing things and mistreat them. This could happen because of race, ethnicity, or sex. The United States does not let many Syrians enter the sates and receive their residence, this to me seems like a human right issue. My parents just found out about that picture that I wasn't supposed to upload. Omg I don't trust them anymore. Thesis statement: Parents should not monitor their child's digital lives. First of all, if a parent is found "snooping" on their child it can break a necessary trust, If I found someone watching my every move online, I would start to distrust them and maybe feel distrusted. That trust is important because it will cause the child to not want to be with their guardian. • 11. Introduction to Psychology Essay examples Introduction to Psychology The concern about life is a main human characteristic. No matter if his concern is concentrated in himself or in persons or things that surround him and constitute his environment, everybody wants to know why people, himself included, behave the way they behave. Everybody, also, wants to improve his behavior, so as to live in harmony with himself and the society. The Greek word Psychology, is a word consisted of the words ψυχή–soul and λόγος–utterance, talk. So, generally, psychology is the science that examines the soul. The heartbeats, the movements of our head are behavior. The way we eat, the way we drink, the way we walk, we talk, are behavior. The construction of a bridge, the composition of a song are behavior. The fantasies of a child, the dreams of a adolescent, the illusions of an alcoholic are behavior. Although we are all familiar with human behavior, a little do we understand or we can explain about it. Since our infancy we learn about behavior through the experiences and the knowledge that we get by observing other people or having relations with them. Living in society leads us to watch and try to explain the way people behave. But that is not always easy. Sometimes we cannot understand even ourselves. Psychology comes to give answers to all this uncertainty. Therefore, according to modern psychology, the term behavior means all the conscious, unconscious, verbal, mental and kinetic expressions of ourselves. Psychology uses statistic researches so as to distinguish the normal behavior from the abnormal one. Such a thing is very difficult because every society has its own behavior standards, and, consequently, an act that is normal according to one society, may be abnormal according to another. For example, polygamy is not permitted in Europe, but it is permitted in certain societies in Africa. So, the judgement of a behavior must bear in mind the social environment in which it takes place . Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Introductory Paragraph Analysis After watching both videos the Introductory Paragraph and good HOOK, they helped me a in understanding how to write an attractive HOOK ! I learned that the hook grabs the reader's attention and makes him/her excited to read what will come next and whether they want to continue reading or not. There are five different types of hooks we use to grab our readers attention. 1) Inverted Pyramid 2) Fact or Statistics 3) Anecdote or personal experiences 4) Rhetorical Questions 5) Bold Pronouncements. These videos showed me that there is an inverted pyramid style to writing the perfect hook. It starts with a broad abstract statement that is narrowed down to our specific topic followed by a transition and the thesis. Selecting the facts and statistics Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. An Introduction to Globalization Essay Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content... We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India, America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries, which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the international political elite. The last set Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Introduction Autism Essay Introduction Autism is on the rise. Many researchers feel the reasons isn't because there are more kids being afflicted with it, but the increased public awareness has allowed this disorder to be more easily recognized and diagnosed at a earlier age. The word "autism" was first used by a Swiss psychiatrist Eugene Bleuler in an article written in the American Journal of Insanity in 1912. It comes from the Greek word meaning self. Bleuler used it to describe the schizophrenic's seeming difficulty in connecting with others ("Autism"). It wasn't until 1943 when the classification of autism was introduced by Dr. Leo Kanner. Repetitive behaviors like head banging and repetitive routines are consistent for individuals with autism. If the routine is disturbed, he or she screams and throws a temper tantrum (Wing, 24). Like their need for consistency in routines, autistics also need and demand absolute consistency in their environment. Changes in their environment cause them to act negatively ("Autism"). And individual with autism has a different sensory system than normal people, the stimulations are affected differently. For example, they have oversensitivity to light and this oversensitivity may cause seizures ("Autism"). At least one quarter of children with autism have an epilectic seizure before they become an adult. Other behaviors that may occur are high levels or anxiety, odd fears (ex. of color or shape), and emotions that change from one extreme to the other (Wing 31+; Siegel 49). A common myth about autistic individuals is that they cannot show affection ("Defining Autism"). Autistics show affection, but they are very precise about who they show affection to. They have to be very comfortable with this person and their affection they show is not like normal children's. The affection is a brief hug or something simple. On reason they do not show affection is they simply do not seek parental attention. As an infant the autistic child may have appeared very calm and not cried very often ("Autism"). • 18. Introduction of Toyota Motor Corporation Toyota 1. Introduction The Toyota Motor Corporation is a leading global enterprise, generating the eleventh largest revenues in the globe, and representing the third largest automobile manufacturer in the world, after General Motors and the German group Volkswagen (Crown Motors). Toyota is nowadays a leading retailer throughout the world, especially within the United States, and this leading position has been attained due to the company's increased ability to understand the needs of the market and adapt to them. Throughout this project then, the emphasis would be placed on the identification of the various opportunities and threats, as these emerge from the external environment and impact Toyota. These threats and opportunities would be presented, as well as assessed based on the company's ability to respond to them. The initial hypothesis is that the company is sufficiently skilled and capable to adequately address these threats and opportunities. 2. Opportunities for Toyota A first and foremost relevant example of the external opportunities with which Toyota is presented includes the very reason which made the company become a leading retailer in the United States, dethroning Ford. This namely refers to a series of changes within the society, which drove the consumers to seek more fuel efficient engines; for instance, the fluctuating price of oil, the increasing costs with automobile maintenance or the growing concerns for pollution and greenhouse gases.
