1. Different Learning Styles in Students
Each Individual is unique. It’s a known fact that no two people react towards a
situation in exact same way and draw similar results; similarly individuals differ
in how they learn. Each student absorbs, processes, comprehends and retains
information in a unique way. A good teacher knows how his/her student
analyzes and understands the information and knows how to categorize the
students on basis of their learning style and implement those in the class. The
introduction of these learning styles has brought a great change in the present
education system. ​IPS Academy​ has been successfully following these
learning models to provide students with a unique and amazing learning
experience.
These learning styles are mainly classified into four major categories,
these are: Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing Preference and
Kinesthetic, also known as the VARK Model of learning. According to
this model, students have different ways of processing information,
also called as different learning modes.
Each student may follow one of these learning styles or else a combination of
more than one style. For example, a student may understand the process of
water cycle by looking at the slides alone, while another might need recitation

2. of process and audio means along with the slide. Some students might prefer
moving their hands trying to figure the process along with the audio visual
exercise, while one might also simply prefer making notes and revising it.
Visual Learners
Visual learners prefer understanding things through a combination of pictures
and graphics. They process the visual information and then comprehend it.
Visual learners like to read silently and enjoy visual stimulation, colors and
vivid imagery. They use imagination power to remember facts and line. It’s
advised to convert the linear text or passage into diagram for teaching
purposes when it comes to visual learners. Instead of liner notes, web notes
are best understood by them.
Auditory Learners
Auditory learners learn best by listening. They like to read out loud yet slowly
and are not afraid to participate and speak in the class. These learners like oral
reports and are good at explaining things. Auditory learners can’t keep quiet
for long and need to indulge into interactive discussions. They use word
associations to remember facts and line. Group discussions are seen as an
ultimate mode of learning for them. They prefer listening to music while
studying math or science and often repeat facts with eyes closed to memorize
them.
Kinesthetic Learners
Kinesthetic learners learn best by doing. They like to read along with walking
or moving. These learners respond to things by practically doing them and
can’t sit for long at the same place to study. It’s advised to use practical
approach to teach them and use different activities for the same. They must be
taught in short blocks instead of stretched long sessions. They prefer
flashcards, graphs, diagrams, tables etc. for illustration of ideas.
