2 years ago, Moon suggested me to start a service in tourism industry.
Though, there already are many services and products out there.
We thought how we can be "different" from others.
We eventually found a very simple, small, but critical market we can work on.
Attraction ticket industry.
There are so many "cheaper" tickets, coupons, and et cetera.
Though, how does a traveler know, he got the cheapest option?
You are seeing here an example of a cheap attraction ticket, the New York CityPASS.
They claim that you can save up to 40% on 6 most popular attractions in New York City.
There are other destination passes as well, such as Newyork Pass and New York Explorer pass.
But will you really save up to 40%?
This is MoMA(Museum of Modern Art) in NYC, which is covered by CityPASS.
MoMA, which costs $12, is free on Friday after 4pm.
Unfortunately, this free entry program can make CityPASS not the cheapest option for some people.
To make the matter worse, there are other popoluar attractions you can enter for free,
such as Guggenheim Museum, Metropolitan Museum, and etc.
To make the matter even worse, each member of your group may have different "better" option.
Your 15-year-old child might be cheaper with student discount.
Everybody have their own trip plan.
And every member of a group have different discount options.
Can't we gather all these information and automatically find the cheapest option for each member of your group?
That's what Trevii does for you; compares & find Cheapest ticket.
Trevii automatically calculates the cheapest ticket option, given a customer’s itinerary.
No need of pencil and paper. Just a few clicks and Trevii finds you the best.
Yes, ticket optimization problem is an instance of P vs NP problems, one of the most difficult and interesting problems around.
However, Trevii hacks the problem in a smart way.
This is how you use Trevii.
Input your schedule.
Selection attractions.
And boom! you get cheapest Tickets.
9. and let’s See the demo.
So, how does Trevii make revenue.
For each redirection, we get commission, 6 to 10 percent.
This is our history.
We opened October 6th, 2014.
Up until today, we sold attraction tickets worthy of $11,764,
making us revenue of $767.
And currenty, we have about 100 unique visitors per day.
Our next Step.
We plan to provide better experience to travelers in many ways.
Cheaper tickets, faster service, and unprecedented services.
We plan to launch several new services, and plan to become something beyond a ticket-selling website.
Instead of re-directing to ticket-selling page, we plan to sell ticket in Trevii.
Users will be able to buy all the ticket in our site with one click.
14.
using Viator's API.
We are working with Viator to make all the attraction tickets purchaseable through Trevii, not only desitnation passes
And some marketing through Social Network.
Trevii is also preparing for trip itinerary builder system.
With the information user input for tickets, we can build a trip's full itinerary.
This trip builder will be able to provide detailed information, such as,
mass transit, travel time, and transit fee,
using social media data and public dataset.
