Discussion and Recommended Actions for Associations, including for their
Member Services

During its session, the Working Group B discussed the various actions to be taken
for associations and has agreed on the following recommendations:
1. Promote dialogue, facilitate development of internal and external quality
assurance at institutional level and at national, regional and international
levels;
2. Promote good practice on cross-border higher education through discussion,
information, codes of good practice and capacity building;
3. Promote institutional, national and international dialogue on higher education
as a public/social good and advocate citizen support for a public investment
for higher education;
4. Educate their members about cross-border higher education and GATS;
5. Take an active role in communicating with their trade delegations and
appropriate government officials about GATS;
6. Collect and disseminate information on cross-border higher education in the
country or region;
7. Participate in international dialogue on cross-border higher education and
quality assurance, in order to create common understanding, facilitate
recognition of qualifications and to develop tools.
