D. A. R. E. Dare Decision-Making Model
Have every wondered how many people die from alcohol a year? 75,000! Wow that is way too many people, and D.A.R.E helped me realize that
drugs and alcohol are a lot more dangerous than I thought.Dare helped me realize a lot of things like,The DDMM,learning to stay away from drugs
and alcohol, and learning how to handle situations. First I am going to talk about the DDMM and what it stands for.The DDMM stands for Dare
Decision Making Model, and it is a thing called D.A.R.E.Dare stands for Define Assess Respond and Evaluate. If someone asked you to smoke or
drink with them say "No thanks,my mom would kill me" or something like "No thanks" and then walk away.I also

Dare Report: How Choices Affect Our Lives
Dare Report Choices, there are good choices and there are bad choices. But in reality choices affect our lives in many different ways. Each day,
people make choices that will affect them for the rest of their lives. In the real world we all make mistakes that will affect us for the rest of our lives.
An example that leads us to this is that people kill themselves because others hurt them so much that they turn depressed and become suicidal later in
life. Another choice is that each day, kids mistake their parents liquor as water so they drink it and it can possibly die. In this event that happens the
parents can be sad that their children had died and probably want to become suicidal so that they can feel the pain of their children

Examples Of Truth And Dare
Hard dares and Extremes dares Truth and Dare is a party game that is played verbally between two or more players. Here the players in the game
have the choice of whether to answer a question put forth to them, truthfully. Or they also have a choice of performing an act or a challenge
known as a "dare". Both questions and the dare acts are decided and set by the other players in the game. The Game of Truth and Dare is commonly
played by children, adolescents as well as by Adults alike. Truth and Dare is also played as a forfeit during gambling. The Game of Truth and Dare has
been played for centuries and it is still widely popular even today. The first evidence of the game of truth and dare dates back to early as 1712. This
game is based on...show more content...

Research Paper On Dare
Smoking is bad I can tell why. So let's talk about that and the D.A.R.E project and what I did in it. First, I will tell you what I learned in D.A.R.E.
Second, how I have used D.A.R.E. Third, how I plan to make good decisions with D.A.R.E.
What I learned in D.A.R.E. You might wonder what Dare is like I did but I learned what it was in 5th grade so let's get to it. First, You want to know
what Dare is right well it stands for Drug. Abuse. Resistance. Education and if you go to silver crest or other schools and you are in 5th grade you can
learn more in Dare when an officer (that teaches Dare) (My officer I think is really cool and he is officer Jake. that is what we call him and what he
goes by.) comes in your class you can think hey I might learn what Dare is. Second, my class learned that more than forty thousand americans die
from smoking that is a lot of people.Third, it is illegal to smoke under the age of nine teen and it (smoking) can cause you...show more content...
We can all use Dare in our daily lives and to be honest I have not been in a situation that I have the choice to do drugs where someone has ask if I
want to and I also have never have seen drugs in less someone I don't know is smoking so I will just say sometimes how I have avoided second
hand smoking. (That is breathing in the smoke but not actually smoking.) First, one time I was at a Utah Jazz game with my dad and I see someone
smoking and I just stuffed my face in my cout and breathed through my nose in my cout so I would not get the harmful chemicals in my body. Second,
I was riding on my bike to school and someone is smoking so I just held my breath for a little bit and rode really fast away so I was far enough to
breath without getting my body damaged. Third, me and my family were in a parking lot and we see someone smoking and we put our faces in our
couts. That is that for that paragraph. Dare has taught me a lot to upgrade my understanding of how bad smoking and chewing tobacco

Consequences Of Being In Dare
Dare Essay by Number 16 Choices. We all make choices whether we like it or not. "What cereal should I have in the morning?" "What do I wear?"
But some of these choices are more important than others, like "Who should I hang out with?" or "Should I go to that party?" These are some of
the millions of choices we make each week, and where these choices will take us will decide how we live our lives. Being in DARE has helped me
realize what choices I should make when I encounter drugs. DARE has shown me that the consequences outway the benefits or the "highs." Thanks to
DARE, I know that anyone can live without the high if they just say no. DARE taught me a lot over the years, but the biggest thing that they've taught
me is that it's ok to say

Dare Program Pros And Cons
Is the Dare Program efficient for America's children?
I.Introduction
a.What is Dare? Dare stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, and if you grew up in the Carmel Clay School district, you have most likely
undergone this course and its material many times. Dare is an administered program that teaches kids about substance abuse, violence, and gang
prevention. According to "Dare.Procon.org," This program has been taught in 75% of US school districts as well as 48 other countries. Today we will
be talking about just how efficient this program really is.
i.Proponents say elementary, middle, and high school students have benefited from this course material by preventing the use of drugs. They also
believe that dare helps to improve interactions between children and authority, such...show more content...
Opponents believe that students have a very negative response to the prevention program. According to the California Department of Education, 90% of
high schoolers reported negative feelings for the program. It states "... the message is repeated so often at school that the concept has lost its
meaning.." [So right now you may be conjuring up an educated opinion on the wishy washy topic, but before you side with one or the other, let me
tell you a couple more facts]
b.Argument 2
i.Proponents believe that dare improves decision–making and attitudes towards drug use. In a 2002 study from the University of Akron, graduates
were 6% higher in drug knowledge than those who never participated in the DARE program. [Now although these studies show a decline in drug use
after undergoing the DARE program, the number of schools who have previously partnered with DARE have significantly decreased] ii. 60% of
school districts have cut out the program completely since 2001 according to the article "N.J. School Drug–Abuse Prevention Group in conflict with
National DARE Program," and according to guidestar.org, the Dare program has also dropped over 6 million dollars in total revenues since

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program Essay
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program known as D.A.R.E has become a very widespread and popular program throughout the United
States. The program appeals to all ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic lines, which is a large part of the reason why the DARE program has grown
exponentially. The program's basic premise was meant to introduce kids to the danger of drugs, before the drugs got to them. The implementation of
the DARE program appeared to be what America needed to begin to put a dent in the war on drugs. Trained uniformed officers who introduce the
program to 5th and 6th graders teach the program. The officers inform them about the dangers of all drugs from Tylenol to heroine. The program
develops rapport between officers...show more content...
So the program was a failure when it came to drug prevention. This in turn brought about a new DARE program with a slightly altered curriculum,
which claimed to be new and improved. However, this new program received about the same evaluation of the old program. Researchers said that
the new DARE program was just a ploy to distract the public away from their previously received criticism. A second study was prompted after the
alterations to the program but was never published due to the near identical results of the first study. Politics coupled with no alternative
prevention programs appears to be allowing for the faulty DARE program to continue. The positive aspects of DARE such as the improved
attitude with police, and stronger social skills are great. However, this is not why the DARE program was created. It was created to educate 5th
and 6th graders about the dangers of taking drugs, which was believed to stay with them their entire life. This is not the case though. The program
isn't ever going to have the success it believes it has or should have until they take into account we are all individuals. Each child needs to be looked
at individually to assess his/her risk and do its best to reduce it. The DARE officers do not investigate the majority of factors that put adolescents at
risk for alcohol and drug abuse today. For example, loss of loved one(s), high levels of stress, problems in relationships with parents, coming

What Are The Things I Learned In Dare
These are things that I learned in DARE. The Introduction, DARE is Define, Assess, Respond, and Evaluate. First, drug abuse, what is drug abuse?
When friends or strangers offer you drugs, which is bad. The only drugs are good are or is medicine your doctor gives you when you have strep
throat which is amoxicillin. When strangers or friends offer you drugs you should say: no. Which is the option you do choose, but if they have
something wrong with them and start attacking you or beat you up, then feel free to kick then in the shin or punch them and run if it's after school but
with the stranger, run away even if you are an adult still do.
The 3 Paragraphes part 1: Tobacco. Tobacco includessmoking and that's it, smoking includes cigarettes and cigars. The same stranger and friend or
friends who offered drugs thinks it's a good idea to offer you cigarettes. If you think cigarettes are good for you, then you don't know what smoking is.
For the young ones reading this and don't know what tobacco or smoking is, then i should probably tell them before it's too late. The young ones who
don't want to read this then they should ask their parents, but i'm gonna tell them otherwise. Smoking or tobacco is when you have a cigarette or a cigar
and you light it with a lighter, it's really bad to smoke. Why is it so dangerous or bad to smoke? Because your lungs are getting more and more
damaged the more you smoke, and that puts you in a high risk of lung cancer. And the...show more content...
Bullying includes verbal, social, physical the worst one, and cyber which is online bullying. You have probably been bullied when you were a kid
or not, but if you were bullied as a kid, i'm sorry. You should tell the teacher or fight back with is the option you should or shouldn't do but if you do
fight back, it's either you get caught by the teacher or tell the teacher. If you get caught by the teacher then you're in trouble or tell the teacher and the
bullies are in

Essay On Becoming A Dare Officer
You get to learn some things about Dare and you get to do some activities that are really fun to play. The Dare officer lets you do things with a
group of people and sometimes with a friend or in some cases you would get to have some activities that are very important to do and that are
really fun to do that you will go home and tell your mom and dad about. Do you want to join Dare to make your life better and important. What we
have been talking about is how alcohol can affect on your action, mind body, and it is kind of a drug that people think that it is good but it is not
good at all. When people have alcohol they get in big situations like crashes, fighting, killing, going to jail for a reason, and ecs. There is something
bad in alcohol that could kill you or make you do things that are very bad. I think people shouldn't have alcohol. We need people like police officers
and any other people to stop these reactions....show more content...
Communication is when you talk to people with words coming out of your mouth to the other person mind. There are three things about
communication. One is unsure. So when you are talking to a person they will know what you are doing. For example, Hey do you want alcohol.
No, I think um um alcohol is bad for you and you can get a um really bad um headache I think, plus one um I don't how many people died from
alcohol but um I think um that one million people died from alcohol use. Another one is pressure. When you are looking at his/her body or
influence you know that they are having anger issues when you are in front of their personal space. For example, Do you want a drug I found it in
my mom's purse. No! I am not going to have the drugs their are stupid and bad for you. (you are walking over to the person in their personal space).
The very last one is Good communication. Good communication was when you know everything about drugs and anything that is bad for you and you
give a fact about it or

How To Write A Dare Paper
My D.A.R.E Paper
When i was in an eight week D.A.R.E program it taught me a lot about how to be safe when pressured and avoiding bad situations. If you don't know
what D.A.R.E stands for it stands for Drug, Abuse, Resistance, Education. I'm going to give you three topics on the D.A.R.E program. In my first
topic i'm going to talk about alcohol. In my second paragraph i'm going to tell you about tobacco. In my third and final paragraph i'm going to tell you
a little bit about peer pressure
One thing i learned in D.A.R.E class was alcohol. Alcohol is bad for you but there is another way you can look at it if you ONLY drink it on special
occasions it's like a little treat . But it is really...show more content...
Tobacco either way is really bad for you there is no way you could use it as a treat it's 100% horrible for your body. It will ruin your kidneys and
everything in your body as well as some of the outside of your body as we learned from Retro Bill. Tobacco can also be addicting and you will want
more and more of it. Pretty soon you will barely have any money and your teeth are going to hurt and look horrible.
The last topic i'm going to talk about is pure pressure. Pure pressure is not an easy thing to deal with because you have all of your friends hanging
out and they try to pressure you into doing something you really don't want to do but you also kinda want to do it so your not called a chicken. What
you could do is say you have that you have to go to the bathroom and instead call parent and stay in the bathroom until they get there. There is a lot of
ways you could handle a situation like that but that's just one of them.
That is just three of the topics i decided to talk about but there is a buch more i could have talked about. D.A.R.E class to me was fun but serious at
the same time. Overall i really enjoyed this class. In paragraph 3 if you don't know who Retro Bill is we have learned a lot of stuff from him like
resistance strategies and how to be

DARE Decision-Making Model
What is D.A.R.E. class? DARE is a class we have been in for the last couple weeks. It is taught by Deputy Morris. DARE stands for drug abuse
resistance education. A DDMM is a DARE decision making model. The DDMM says to define, assess, respond, evaluate. Those are the main parts of
DARE. Who is Retro Bill? Retro Bill is a DARE spokesman who goes over all of the safety rules. One thing that he goes over is what bad drugs and
alcohol can do to your body. In another he uses a blender to mimic your body then he put bad drugs and alcohol and cigarettes in a blender and mixed
it up and it became a nasty pasty liquid. How are drugs good but bad to a certain extent? Most drugs are good if used carefully and responsibly.
Prescription drugs are good

Did you know that when you're smoking it has 200 chemicals? Well I figured that out in the wonderful class of D.A.R.E! DARE has been a great
experience for me because I met new friends and I thought I was the only one that was interested until I heard people talking about how good dare
is at resses and that's when I found out I was not the only one some people thought it was silly and others really like it. DARE has been a great
opportunity because I learned a lot,I made my own decisions, Now i'm prepared for my life ahead of me. During our lesson I learned more and More
about why drugs are bad for you and your body and that you should not be around people that take drugs and that's smoking because you could get in
trouble even if you didn't...show more content...
So if you wanted to answer a question it had to be your decision or your hole groups decision so either way you put your own thought into the
question and in the beginning of class each day we do this thing where you have to say what we did the week before if you go it right you got daren
the lion and it helps you to say what you want so you can remember it's harder to remember when you didn't say anything and you made your partner
do all the work.
When we first started D.A.R.E I thought I wouldn't need to learn about it till we heard a policeman was in charge and we all started to get more
interested each day Officer Trap was the policeman and he made it interesting and when we got done with the lesson we watched a video the video
either had a problem or the problem was solved but those videos always got me thinking i'm so glad we had this class because I'm now ready for the
life ahead of me and I say to myself I can't make those bad mistakes but those mistakes always happens but when that mistake comes I will be prepared
Thank you all so much for listening and I hope you enjoyed me reading this to

Dare Decision Making Model
Did you know that there are over two hundred dangerous chemicals in one single cigarette. I didn't know this till we started D.A.R.E in my class.
What is D.A.R.E? D.A.R.E is a program usually provided by your school that they do in the fifth grade. D.A.R.E stands for Define, Assess, Respond
and, Evaluate.
While in dare I have learned many things, like the fact that there are more than two hundred dangerous chemicals in a cigarette. I've also learned that
more than seventy five thousand people die from alcohol a year, but we don't just learn about harmful drugs we also learn about how to say no to
drugs and how to avoid those situations. In the D.A.R.E decision making model it tells us that we should describe the challenge, problem, or
opportunity, then list all of our choices. Then we have to make a choice using the facts about the situation. Finally it tells us to look back at our decision

Till about a few months ago my mom was the relief society president in my ward. She has handled many crazy things and has gone threw a lot, but
the one that was the craziest was this lady in our ward who would overdose on her medicine. My mom and our bishop were the ones who handled it.
She lived with another lady in our ward, but because she had this addiction to her medicine her roommate kick her out of the condo. She was in and
out of multiply hospitals, and had threatened to commit suicide. She also got kicked out of a lot of hospitals. Because my mom was helping with her
we didn't see her very often. At the end of it all my mom and our bishop told her that they couldn't help her any more. So they put her in a psych ward
and we haven't seen her since.
Hearing what drugs or abuse of drugs did to her definitely makes me not want to do them. I will stay out of drugs and other harmful things that can
hurt me and my body. I'm saying no to drugs now and no to drugs

DARE Program
The Use of the DARE Program
Article two: Just Say No to DARE – TIME The slogan "Just Say No" is not an effective slogan, and although this did not come as a surprise to many
americans it did seem to come as a surprise to DARE program officials and this has lead to an institution of a new DARE program meant to cure the
problems of the former program. DARE was once a anti–drug program taught by friendly policemen in 75 percent of the nation's schools and has been
rife with problems from the beginning. The program has always been good for teaching simplistic lessons like to not drink cleaning fluid but has fallen
short of teaching anything more than that. For example according to a study in the August 1999 issue of the Journal of Consulting and

1983 there is a need to see if the DARE program is effective or not in reaching and reducing the use of drugs by the young and adolescents members
of society within the United States where the program is available and provided. It is also necessary to see whether to see if the effectiveness of the

DARE Model
Raise your hand if you have been in D.A.R.E. What does DARE stand for? DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. My three
subtopics about DARE are what i've learned, How i have used the DARE decision making model, and how I will use what I have learned in DARE
in the future. Our D.A.R.E officer (deputy Kennedy) has taught us a lot. Which is good because then we can go home and educate our parents. Well
let's get to my first subtopic. Did you know there are more than 75,000 alcohol related deaths a year. If you think that's bad well compare it to tobacco
related deaths which there are more 400,000 a year. According to pgs. 3–4 in the D.A.R.E manual. These are just two of many facts we have learned in
D.A.R.E. A big thing we learned

How To Write A Dare Report
My D.A.R.E. Report What I learned during D.A.R.E. is that you should avoid conversations when people ask you if you want drugs or cigarettes,
by changing the subject or coming up with a random excuse to leave. Also, if you are walking home and someone is smoking and they ask you if
you want one then you just walk away and find a different way home. I also learned that if someone nearby or that is standing next to you and is
smoking then keep a good enough distance away so that you do not get second hand smoke from them, because it is very dangerous and can kill you.
How I plan to use what I have learned during D.A.R.E to keep me same is, that I will not take drugs from people when they offer me some and I will
not mix drugs together because

Key Things I Learned In DARE
D.A.R.E Essay DARE. Drug Abuse Resistance Education. What is it? DARE is a class that teaches students, like me, how to resist and handle
different situations. I took this class this year and found it very helpful. We have all been working really hard in these five months in which we have
found to have come to an end. This amazing journey we have come along on was fun, and hard. Deputy Kennedy was a really fun teacher in DARE.
He made fun jokes and did some funny things. The 3 key things I learned in DARE the harms of drugs and alcohol, good communication skills, and
handling stress. I've learned in these five months we've been in the DARE program, about the harm of drugs and alcohol. Alcohol is very dangerous
to your body. There are about 75,000 alcohol related deaths a year in the US alone. What alcohol does to your...show more content...
These skills have helped me a lot because I am in situations where I have to communicate, but I didn't really know how. Now I do thank to the DARE
program. So, nonverbal communication. What is it? Nonverbal communication is physical actions or body language that goes along with what we are
saying. An example of nonverbal communication is facial expressions or a pat on the back. Sometimes when you are communicating, you can be
unsure, demanding, or confident. Being unsure is when you are not really sure about something. You get really nervous and can't keep your voice
steady. Being demanding is exactly how it sounds. You demand, such as yelling or screaming. Being confident is when you are not too demanding and
not too unsure. You are strong with words and stable. But I've told you about communication, but what is it? Communication is when people express
their thoughts or feelings with each other. Communication is helpful when you are in tough situations, but remember what you do in your actions and
say in your

  • 1. D. A. R. E. Dare Decision-Making Model Have every wondered how many people die from alcohol a year? 75,000! Wow that is way too many people, and D.A.R.E helped me realize that drugs and alcohol are a lot more dangerous than I thought.Dare helped me realize a lot of things like,The DDMM,learning to stay away from drugs and alcohol, and learning how to handle situations. First I am going to talk about the DDMM and what it stands for.The DDMM stands for Dare Decision Making Model, and it is a thing called D.A.R.E.Dare stands for Define Assess Respond and Evaluate. If someone asked you to smoke or drink with them say "No thanks,my mom would kill me" or something like "No thanks" and then walk away.I also Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Dare Report: How Choices Affect Our Lives Dare Report Choices, there are good choices and there are bad choices. But in reality choices affect our lives in many different ways. Each day, people make choices that will affect them for the rest of their lives. In the real world we all make mistakes that will affect us for the rest of our lives. An example that leads us to this is that people kill themselves because others hurt them so much that they turn depressed and become suicidal later in life. Another choice is that each day, kids mistake their parents liquor as water so they drink it and it can possibly die. In this event that happens the parents can be sad that their children had died and probably want to become suicidal so that they can feel the pain of their children Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Examples Of Truth And Dare Hard dares and Extremes dares Truth and Dare is a party game that is played verbally between two or more players. Here the players in the game have the choice of whether to answer a question put forth to them, truthfully. Or they also have a choice of performing an act or a challenge known as a "dare". Both questions and the dare acts are decided and set by the other players in the game. The Game of Truth and Dare is commonly played by children, adolescents as well as by Adults alike. Truth and Dare is also played as a forfeit during gambling. The Game of Truth and Dare has been played for centuries and it is still widely popular even today. The first evidence of the game of truth and dare dates back to early as 1712. This game is based on...show more content... • 4. Research Paper On Dare Smoking is bad I can tell why. First, You want to know what Dare is right well it stands for Drug. Abuse. Resistance. Education and if you go to silver crest or other schools and you are in 5th grade you can learn more in Dare when an officer (that teaches Dare) (My officer I think is really cool and he is officer Jake. that is what we call him and what he goes by.) comes in your class you can think hey I might learn what Dare is. Second, my class learned that more than forty thousand americans die from smoking that is a lot of people.Third, it is illegal to smoke under the age of nine teen and it (smoking) can cause you...show more content... We can all use Dare in our daily lives and to be honest I have not been in a situation that I have the choice to do drugs where someone has ask if I want to and I also have never have seen drugs in less someone I don't know is smoking so I will just say sometimes how I have avoided second hand smoking. (That is breathing in the smoke but not actually smoking.) First, one time I was at a Utah Jazz game with my dad and I see someone smoking and I just stuffed my face in my cout and breathed through my nose in my cout so I would not get the harmful chemicals in my body. Second, I was riding on my bike to school and someone is smoking so I just held my breath for a little bit and rode really fast away so I was far enough to breath without getting my body damaged. Third, me and my family were in a parking lot and we see someone smoking and we put our faces in our couts. That is that for that paragraph. Dare has taught me a lot to upgrade my understanding of how bad smoking and chewing tobacco Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Consequences Of Being In Dare Dare Essay by Number 16 Choices. We all make choices whether we like it or not. "What cereal should I have in the morning?" "What do I wear?" But some of these choices are more important than others, like "Who should I hang out with?" or "Should I go to that party?" These are some of the millions of choices we make each week, and where these choices will take us will decide how we live our lives. Being in DARE has helped me realize what choices I should make when I encounter drugs. DARE has shown me that the consequences outway the benefits or the "highs." Thanks to DARE, I know that anyone can live without the high if they just say no. DARE taught me a lot over the years, but the biggest thing that they've taught me is that it's ok to say Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Dare Program Pros And Cons Is the Dare Program efficient for America's children? I.Introduction a.What is Dare? Dare stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, and if you grew up in the Carmel Clay School district, you have most likely undergone this course and its material many times. Dare is an administered program that teaches kids about substance abuse, violence, and gang prevention. According to "Dare.Procon.org," This program has been taught in 75% of US school districts as well as 48 other countries. Today we will be talking about just how efficient this program really is. i.Proponents say elementary, middle, and high school students have benefited from this course material by preventing the use of drugs. They also believe that dare helps to improve interactions between children and authority, such...show more content... Opponents believe that students have a very negative response to the prevention program. According to the California Department of Education, 90% of high schoolers reported negative feelings for the program. It states "... the message is repeated so often at school that the concept has lost its meaning.." [So right now you may be conjuring up an educated opinion on the wishy washy topic, but before you side with one or the other, let me tell you a couple more facts] b.Argument 2 i.Proponents believe that dare improves decision–making and attitudes towards drug use. In a 2002 study from the University of Akron, graduates were 6% higher in drug knowledge than those who never participated in the DARE program. [Now although these studies show a decline in drug use after undergoing the DARE program, the number of schools who have previously partnered with DARE have significantly decreased] ii. 60% of school districts have cut out the program completely since 2001 according to the article "N.J. School Drug–Abuse Prevention Group in conflict with National DARE Program," and according to guidestar.org, the Dare program has also dropped over 6 million dollars in total revenues since Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program Essay The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program known as D.A.R.E has become a very widespread and popular program throughout the United States. The program appeals to all ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic lines, which is a large part of the reason why the DARE program has grown exponentially. The program's basic premise was meant to introduce kids to the danger of drugs, before the drugs got to them. The implementation of the DARE program appeared to be what America needed to begin to put a dent in the war on drugs. Trained uniformed officers who introduce the program to 5th and 6th graders teach the program. The officers inform them about the dangers of all drugs from Tylenol to heroine. The program develops rapport between officers...show more content... So the program was a failure when it came to drug prevention. This in turn brought about a new DARE program with a slightly altered curriculum, which claimed to be new and improved. However, this new program received about the same evaluation of the old program. Researchers said that the new DARE program was just a ploy to distract the public away from their previously received criticism. A second study was prompted after the alterations to the program but was never published due to the near identical results of the first study. Politics coupled with no alternative prevention programs appears to be allowing for the faulty DARE program to continue. The positive aspects of DARE such as the improved attitude with police, and stronger social skills are great. However, this is not why the DARE program was created. It was created to educate 5th and 6th graders about the dangers of taking drugs, which was believed to stay with them their entire life. This is not the case though. The program isn't ever going to have the success it believes it has or should have until they take into account we are all individuals. Each child needs to be looked at individually to assess his/her risk and do its best to reduce it. The DARE officers do not investigate the majority of factors that put adolescents at risk for alcohol and drug abuse today. For example, loss of loved one(s), high levels of stress, problems in relationships with parents, coming Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. What Are The Things I Learned In Dare These are things that I learned in DARE. The Introduction, DARE is Define, Assess, Respond, and Evaluate. First, drug abuse, what is drug abuse? When friends or strangers offer you drugs, which is bad. The only drugs are good are or is medicine your doctor gives you when you have strep throat which is amoxicillin. When strangers or friends offer you drugs you should say: no. Which is the option you do choose, but if they have something wrong with them and start attacking you or beat you up, then feel free to kick then in the shin or punch them and run if it's after school but with the stranger, run away even if you are an adult still do. The 3 Paragraphes part 1: Tobacco. Tobacco includessmoking and that's it, smoking includes cigarettes and cigars. The same stranger and friend or friends who offered drugs thinks it's a good idea to offer you cigarettes. If you think cigarettes are good for you, then you don't know what smoking is. For the young ones reading this and don't know what tobacco or smoking is, then i should probably tell them before it's too late. The young ones who don't want to read this then they should ask their parents, but i'm gonna tell them otherwise. Smoking or tobacco is when you have a cigarette or a cigar and you light it with a lighter, it's really bad to smoke. Why is it so dangerous or bad to smoke? Because your lungs are getting more and more damaged the more you smoke, and that puts you in a high risk of lung cancer. And the...show more content... Bullying includes verbal, social, physical the worst one, and cyber which is online bullying. You have probably been bullied when you were a kid or not, but if you were bullied as a kid, i'm sorry. You should tell the teacher or fight back with is the option you should or shouldn't do but if you do fight back, it's either you get caught by the teacher or tell the teacher. If you get caught by the teacher then you're in trouble or tell the teacher and the bullies are in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay On Becoming A Dare Officer You get to learn some things about Dare and you get to do some activities that are really fun to play. The Dare officer lets you do things with a group of people and sometimes with a friend or in some cases you would get to have some activities that are very important to do and that are really fun to do that you will go home and tell your mom and dad about. Do you want to join Dare to make your life better and important. What we have been talking about is how alcohol can affect on your action, mind body, and it is kind of a drug that people think that it is good but it is not good at all. When people have alcohol they get in big situations like crashes, fighting, killing, going to jail for a reason, and ecs. There is something bad in alcohol that could kill you or make you do things that are very bad. I think people shouldn't have alcohol. We need people like police officers and any other people to stop these reactions....show more content... Communication is when you talk to people with words coming out of your mouth to the other person mind. There are three things about communication. One is unsure. So when you are talking to a person they will know what you are doing. For example, Hey do you want alcohol. No, I think um um alcohol is bad for you and you can get a um really bad um headache I think, plus one um I don't how many people died from alcohol but um I think um that one million people died from alcohol use. Another one is pressure. When you are looking at his/her body or influence you know that they are having anger issues when you are in front of their personal space. For example, Do you want a drug I found it in my mom's purse. No! I am not going to have the drugs their are stupid and bad for you. (you are walking over to the person in their personal space). The very last one is Good communication. Good communication was when you know everything about drugs and anything that is bad for you and you give a fact about it or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. How To Write A Dare Paper My D.A.R.E Paper When i was in an eight week D.A.R.E program it taught me a lot about how to be safe when pressured and avoiding bad situations. If you don't know what D.A.R.E stands for it stands for Drug, Abuse, Resistance, Education. I'm going to give you three topics on the D.A.R.E program. In my first topic i'm going to talk about alcohol. In my second paragraph i'm going to tell you about tobacco. In my third and final paragraph i'm going to tell you a little bit about peer pressure One thing i learned in D.A.R.E class was alcohol. Alcohol is bad for you but there is another way you can look at it if you ONLY drink it on special occasions it's like a little treat . But it is really...show more content... Tobacco either way is really bad for you there is no way you could use it as a treat it's 100% horrible for your body. It will ruin your kidneys and everything in your body as well as some of the outside of your body as we learned from Retro Bill. Tobacco can also be addicting and you will want more and more of it. Pretty soon you will barely have any money and your teeth are going to hurt and look horrible. The last topic i'm going to talk about is pure pressure. Pure pressure is not an easy thing to deal with because you have all of your friends hanging out and they try to pressure you into doing something you really don't want to do but you also kinda want to do it so your not called a chicken. What you could do is say you have that you have to go to the bathroom and instead call parent and stay in the bathroom until they get there. There is a lot of ways you could handle a situation like that but that's just one of them. That is just three of the topics i decided to talk about but there is a buch more i could have talked about. D.A.R.E class to me was fun but serious at the same time. Overall i really enjoyed this class. In paragraph 3 if you don't know who Retro Bill is we have learned a lot of stuff from him like resistance strategies and how to be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. DARE Decision-Making Model What is D.A.R.E. class? DARE is a class we have been in for the last couple weeks. It is taught by Deputy Morris. DARE stands for drug abuse resistance education. A DDMM is a DARE decision making model. The DDMM says to define, assess, respond, evaluate. Those are the main parts of DARE. Who is Retro Bill? Retro Bill is a DARE spokesman who goes over all of the safety rules. One thing that he goes over is what bad drugs and alcohol can do to your body. In another he uses a blender to mimic your body then he put bad drugs and alcohol and cigarettes in a blender and mixed it up and it became a nasty pasty liquid. How are drugs good but bad to a certain extent? Most drugs are good if used carefully and responsibly. Prescription drugs are good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Dare Research Paper Did you know that when you're smoking it has 200 chemicals? Well I figured that out in the wonderful class of D.A.R.E! DARE has been a great experience for me because I met new friends and I thought I was the only one that was interested until I heard people talking about how good dare is at resses and that's when I found out I was not the only one some people thought it was silly and others really like it. DARE has been a great opportunity because I learned a lot,I made my own decisions, Now i'm prepared for my life ahead of me. During our lesson I learned more and More about why drugs are bad for you and your body and that you should not be around people that take drugs and that's smoking because you could get in trouble even if you didn't...show more content... So if you wanted to answer a question it had to be your decision or your hole groups decision so either way you put your own thought into the question and in the beginning of class each day we do this thing where you have to say what we did the week before if you go it right you got daren the lion and it helps you to say what you want so you can remember it's harder to remember when you didn't say anything and you made your partner do all the work. When we first started D.A.R.E I thought I wouldn't need to learn about it till we heard a policeman was in charge and we all started to get more interested each day Officer Trap was the policeman and he made it interesting and when we got done with the lesson we watched a video the video either had a problem or the problem was solved but those videos always got me thinking i'm so glad we had this class because I'm now ready for the life ahead of me and I say to myself I can't make those bad mistakes but those mistakes always happens but when that mistake comes I will be prepared Thank you all so much for listening and I hope you enjoyed me reading this to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Dare Decision Making Model Did you know that there are over two hundred dangerous chemicals in one single cigarette. I didn't know this till we started D.A.R.E in my class. What is D.A.R.E? D.A.R.E is a program usually provided by your school that they do in the fifth grade. D.A.R.E stands for Define, Assess, Respond and, Evaluate. While in dare I have learned many things, like the fact that there are more than two hundred dangerous chemicals in a cigarette. I've also learned that more than seventy five thousand people die from alcohol a year, but we don't just learn about harmful drugs we also learn about how to say no to drugs and how to avoid those situations. In the D.A.R.E decision making model it tells us that we should describe the challenge, problem, or opportunity, then list all of our choices. Then we have to make a choice using the facts about the situation. Finally it tells us to look back at our decision ...show more content... My mom and our bishop were the ones who handled it. She lived with another lady in our ward, but because she had this addiction to her medicine her roommate kick her out of the condo. She was in and out of multiply hospitals, and had threatened to commit suicide. She also got kicked out of a lot of hospitals. Because my mom was helping with her we didn't see her very often. At the end of it all my mom and our bishop told her that they couldn't help her any more. So they put her in a psych ward and we haven't seen her since. Hearing what drugs or abuse of drugs did to her definitely makes me not want to do them. I will stay out of drugs and other harmful things that can hurt me and my body. I'm saying no to drugs now and no to drugs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. DARE Program The Use of the DARE Program Article two: Just Say No to DARE – TIME The slogan "Just Say No" is not an effective slogan, and although this did not come as a surprise to many americans it did seem to come as a surprise to DARE program officials and this has lead to an institution of a new DARE program meant to cure the problems of the former program. DARE was once a anti–drug program taught by friendly policemen in 75 percent of the nation's schools and has been rife with problems from the beginning. The program has always been good for teaching simplistic lessons like to not drink cleaning fluid but has fallen short of teaching anything more than that. For example according to a study in the August 1999 issue of the Journal of Consulting and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is also necessary to see whether to see if the effectiveness of the program is helped or hindered Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. DARE Model Raise your hand if you have been in D.A.R.E. What does DARE stand for? DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. My three subtopics about DARE are what i've learned, How i have used the DARE decision making model, and how I will use what I have learned in DARE in the future. Our D.A.R.E officer (deputy Kennedy) has taught us a lot. Which is good because then we can go home and educate our parents. Well let's get to my first subtopic. Did you know there are more than 75,000 alcohol related deaths a year. If you think that's bad well compare it to tobacco related deaths which there are more 400,000 a year. According to pgs. 3–4 in the D.A.R.E manual. These are just two of many facts we have learned in D.A.R.E. A big thing we learned Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. How To Write A Dare Report My D.A.R.E. Report What I learned during D.A.R.E. is that you should avoid conversations when people ask you if you want drugs or cigarettes, by changing the subject or coming up with a random excuse to leave. Also, if you are walking home and someone is smoking and they ask you if you want one then you just walk away and find a different way home. I also learned that if someone nearby or that is standing next to you and is smoking then keep a good enough distance away so that you do not get second hand smoke from them, because it is very dangerous and can kill you. How I plan to use what I have learned during D.A.R.E to keep me same is, that I will not take drugs from people when they offer me some and I will not mix drugs together because Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Key Things I Learned In DARE D.A.R.E Essay DARE. Drug Abuse Resistance Education. What is it? DARE is a class that teaches students, like me, how to resist and handle different situations. I took this class this year and found it very helpful. We have all been working really hard in these five months in which we have found to have come to an end. This amazing journey we have come along on was fun, and hard. Deputy Kennedy was a really fun teacher in DARE. He made fun jokes and did some funny things. The 3 key things I learned in DARE the harms of drugs and alcohol, good communication skills, and handling stress. I've learned in these five months we've been in the DARE program, about the harm of drugs and alcohol. Alcohol is very dangerous to your body. There are about 75,000 alcohol related deaths a year in the US alone. What alcohol does to your...show more content... These skills have helped me a lot because I am in situations where I have to communicate, but I didn't really know how. Now I do thank to the DARE program. So, nonverbal communication. What is it? Nonverbal communication is physical actions or body language that goes along with what we are saying. An example of nonverbal communication is facial expressions or a pat on the back. Sometimes when you are communicating, you can be unsure, demanding, or confident. Being unsure is when you are not really sure about something. You get really nervous and can't keep your voice steady. Being demanding is exactly how it sounds. You demand, such as yelling or screaming. Being confident is when you are not too demanding and not too unsure. You are strong with words and stable. But I've told you about communication, but what is it? Communication is when people express their thoughts or feelings with each other. Communication is helpful when you are in tough situations, but remember what you do in your actions and say in your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
