2. Some possible interpretations
The newspapers (the signifier) merely shows a clip of various newspapers on the
market, in Cambridge (signified) We did this because we wanted to show that we are
current and up to date, keeping with the genre of music. (the sign)
3. Another possible interpretation
The sleeping bag (the signifier) shows that somebody is sleeping on the street. (the
signified) This took this shot to give our video a more serious edge, showing
concerns in our area, this adds to the modesty of our video.
4. Further interpretations
The chapel in this shot is the signifier. This shows the the location of the
video, the signified. The sign shows that the video isn’t very urban, which
follows the genre of the music, if it were rap, more urban views would be
shown.
5. The Signifier is the drum, this shows that someone can play the drum
(signified) so in all this shows that our band would have a vast range of
skills but also could relate with drum players who are fans.
