Heat Shootout Scene
Extreme Close-Up Shot
In this case this extreme close-up shot is used to conceal the emotions of the actor as to give a sense of
mystery to what is going on in this scene. Although it may also stress the tension in the characters face
as the eyes shown on the actors face seems as that of a poker face.
High Angle Shot
In this shot a high angle shot is used to set the scene and the perspective that the film director is trying
to show. It also gives the effect of the sense of the atmosphere and the surrounding of the scene.
Medium Shot
The medium shot was used in this scene to convey the body language of the character in the scene. In
this certain situation the editor is trying to emphasize the status of the bank robber by showi ng that at
the current moment he is in a higher position than the others.
Medium-Long Shot
Medium-long shots are usually used to set the scene and include the character in as well but in this
certain case it is used to bring the scene that is taking place outside the bank at the same time as what’s
going on in the bank. It does set the setting of the scene as this scene shows that a car has just arrived.
Close Up
This scene uses the close up shot to show the characters emotions in a more detailed manner so it helps
the viewer to imagine what’s going on in the characters head. In this case the bank robber just had a
successful heist that is why he is smiling.
Extreme Long Shot
This shot is usually used to show the scene of someone or something travelling as it is relatively easier to
see the person/object travel in this type of shot as you can see the whole scene. In this scene the bank
robbers are trying to make a break for it and try to lose the cops.
2 Shot
This shot is to establish the bond between the two characters in the current shot and in this scene
where one person is helping the other it shows the companionship of the two to not leave a man
behind.
Over The Shoulder Shot
This shot is to give the characters perspective but you can only see over their shoulders (as implied in
the name). This gives the effect of seeing what the character is currently focused on right now. In this
scene the police is aiming down the sight and focusing his target on the criminal.
