I would like to give a talk on "Tourism". In my speech, I am going to share with you some information on the beauty of Malaysia and the advantages
and the disadvantages of tourism towards the development of Malaysia. Basically, tourism is a practice of travelling for pleasure especially on
one's holidays. It is an organized journey where several places are visited. When it reaches the time to decide the location for your holiday, most
probably you will be choosing a foreign country such as Korea, Japan, China or European countries like Germany, France, United Kingdom and
Italy. Since we are born in Malaysia and have been living here for years, it is understandable why most of us willing to choose foreign country as the
destination for our holidays trip instead of domestic tourism. It is true that you may be experience a whole different culture and lifestyle in others
counties, but do not forget, Malaysia is also one of the most beautiful and fascinating tourism destinations of South East Asia. As we already knew,
Malaysia has a multi–ethnic, multicultural and multilingual society. There are various types of people with different racial and religion, yet living

effects of tourism in Malaysia? Will it be positive effects or negative effects? In my opinion, tourism is a useful way to helps people to relax and
keep themselves far away from stressful, busy urban life. I am sure that all of us are waiting anxiously for the holiday, just to escape ourselves

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Tourism Essay
Tourism is something that you have likely taken part of. What is tourism you may ask. Well, The World Tourism Organization defines tourism as the
temporary movement of people away from the places where they normally work and live. Tourism contributes 10% of the world GDP and 1 in 11 jobs
is tourism related. I will be addressing types of tourism, how tourism has increased and the advantages and disadvantages of tourism.
Types of Tourism
There are several types of tourism. Types of tourism developed as people had different reasons to travel. Adventure tourism is where the traveller is
usually looking for activities that seem dangerous. Some examples include sky–diving, skiing and rock climbing.
Sports tourism is travel for events such as the FIFA World Cup or the Olympics. Ecotourism, also known as nature tourism is where tourists travel
to see natural sights such as forests, waterfalls or lakes. Religious tourism is where people travel to a certain place due to religious beliefs. An
example of religious tourism is Muslims when they travel to Mecca. Business or professional tourism is where people travel to a certain place for
work or business. An example is conferences that doctors are required to attend each year.
Cultural tourism is tourism where people aim to learn more about the culture and country that they are visiting. Tourists would usually try and immerse
themselves in genuine culture, to get a real experience of life in that country. Some examples include Morocco's Aid to Artisans program which
facilitates direct linkages between artisans and tourists in certain cities.
Leisure, recreation and holidays are the main cause of tourism. These tourists are mainly looking to relax. There are different subgroups of leisure
tourism. Some of these include pleasure tourism where tourists can indulge in activities such as yoga workshops and detox vacations.
Medical tourism is an emerging type of tourism where the main focus is improving one's health, physical appearance or fitness. Some countries
promote their country's doctors and advertise medical procedures to be done there.
