Essay on School Safety: Protecting the Students
School Safety: Protecting the Students
For many students a positive academic environment is increasingly harder to obtain. This is mainly due to their lack of safety. Whether it be inside the
classroom or out.
Unfavorable situations at home, psychological stability, physical dangers and violence all contribute to this evident shortage. There have been
investigations on how organizations, teachers and parents collaborate together in today's society to influence the students understanding of safety in
school. The purpose of this paper is to display some examples of each aforementioned contribution and show some of the current measures being taken
to aid today's students.
Developments within the past decade have opened up new ways...show more content...
And with not caring about safety, leads to not caring of academics. As stated in the NEA article, This positive academic environment begins with safe
families and safe communities, statistically, schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. When that is taken away from a
student, they have no drive anymore to follow through with their education. A lot of the time weaponry is involved. Children find guns in parent's
drawers, or just while they are playing at their friend's house. Older brothers and sisters who might be involved in gangs might have weapons lying
around or even feel its cool to show off to their younger siblings and their friends.
However, some of the worst violence is not weaponry. It is the harassment from student to student. Psychological stability is a big issue today when it
comes to safety. Peer pressure has left children feeling the need to concentrate more on the popular things to do, then what is best for the student; an
education. In fact, Hazler, Hoover, and Oliver (1996) reported that three–fourths of the school students they surveyed indicated that they experienced
harassment and bullying to such an extent that they suffered academic, personal, and social difficulties (Hernandez). Bullying can impact a child when
it comes to learning. Having someone of the same age, belittle, embarrass, and put a child down, most of the time leads the child to

Essay on School jobs
Many high school students want to keep up with the high demand of designer clothes, new movies, and the best five–star restaurants, but really, who in
high school can afford those things on their own? If parents are not going to supply the cash for the latest and hottest trends, then who is? With that
being said, many students are left with no other choice but to dig into their free time so they can dig into their wallets. That is right, going to work and
going to school. On the contrary, not all high school students who are going to after–school jobs are doing it to keep up with the latest and hottest trends.
Many students are working part–time jobs so they can pay for postsecondary education, but even then a part–time job may not get a...show more

I worked at Texas Roadhouse my senior year in high school, and because there were a lot of girls scheduled to work one shift I was not scheduled
to work a lot of hours. When I first began working there I was working about thirteen to eighteen hours per week, including weekends. At first it was
easy to do so I thought that I could talk with the manager and ask to be scheduled for more hours. After of few weeks of working there I began to
work about twenty to twenty–five hours per week. Things started to catch up with me. I went straight from school to work and straight from work to
bed. No homework, no study time, and no good grades. According to Sharon Jayson, Irina Voloshin once said," Working for more than 20 hours a
week can hamper academic achievement." (par.11). I had completely overloaded myself with work outside of school work. I thought for a brief
minute that I wanted the money instead of the grades. I was in route to graduate early and almost knocked it all off track for some extra spending
money. I already had everything that I needed but I wanted more and working part–time was such an easy way to get it. Thankfully I saw where I was
headed and promptly quit my job. Money makes people greedy and can cloud a persons thinking, especially when people are young and love to
indulge. Students have to realize what is write for their future instead of what is right for the moment. .Many high school students find that working a

Essay On School Observation
The school I chose and was assigned to observe at was Knob Noster Elementary School. I chose to observe at Knob Noster because I attended the
school district from elementary to high school; Knob Noster is my hometown. I thought it would be a humbling experience to observe students at the
school that I received my education from. It was very nostalgic walking up to the school doors I once entered every day.
As I tried to enter the school, I noticed the outside doors were locked; that was a change from when I attended the school. The principal saw me
struggling and opened the door for me. He informed me on the security system and told me how I could get in next time. All the outside doors are
locked except for one and there is a buzzer system outside of the primary office door where the office women can let people in.
After I was allowed in, I signed in to the computer system as a guest and headed to the classroom I would be observing in. On my way to the
classroom, I couldn't help but notice that not much about the building had changed. As I walked downstairs to Ms. Gerke's classroom, I even noticed
that my kindergarten teacher still worked there in the same exact classroom; I was overwhelmed with nostalgia. In the distance I could hear the chatter
of students in classrooms and piano music and singing in the music room.
When I arrived in Ms. Gerke's classroom, she was sitting on the floor in a circle with her first graders doing a group activity. As you walk into the
classroom, the teacher's desk is on the right. Behind her desk is a seating area with a rug in front of the smart board, along with a computer next to it.
Along the far–right side of her classroom is a line of cabinets with decorations, books, turn–in boxes and more on it. The classroom walls were full of
large letters, numbers, and inspirational quotes. The back of her classroom included a reading center and both a boy's and girl's restroom. There
weren't too many desks in her classroom, but the desks she had were long and could seat at least four students. Overall, I would describe Ms. Gerke's
classroom as bright and colorful.
After about an hour into my observation, it was time for Ms. Gerke's plan period. Ms. Gerke explained that she had

Persuasive Essay About School Change
School! How do you see the school? How do other people see the school? Should school still exist or continue? Should they radically change? Should
teachers get paid more? Should they teach more? Make it easier to go to college? What do you think your school should change? What should they
add or take away? There are so many questions. There's a lot of opinions and disagreements. What do I think about school? Some people say we
shouldn't have school. Hi I'm a fellow student, that's in the 9th grade and these are my opinion about school. In my opinion, school is preparing
us for jobs and more. We are in school for a good 8 hours, most likely we be working 8 hours or more doing jobs. People think they can learn on
their own. So you telling me you can learn other languages, chemistry/biology, mathematics, and etc. I think not! School helps us out a lot if you
really look at it. By teaching us step by step. Focusing on our main problem. School is starting a radical change. As the years go by schools are
changing (radically). I honestly like looking through the books instead of looking online. Reading and writing is the right way, the old fashion
way. Don't get me wrong online is a good use too. I would like to stay between really. Read and write, I feel like I learn a lot better that way and
memorized it a lot more. Online is a good way of visualizing it. Teacher should get paid more. You would disagree with this, but do you know why?
Teachers goes through a lot with students, parents, and even other teachers. I can just look into a teacher's eye and tell their tired of it or stressed out.
Students are a pain in the butt. Some students are difficult to handle. Let's take a minute, let's say this teacher has 7 different classes a day. Let's say
the largest is 15–27 students. The teacher has a bad and good students. The bad students have been acting up lately and their influence the good
students to act a fool. Now the class is a racket. Just imagine you going through that every day. That's's stressful and tiring. You may say principal or
call their parents. Come on now that don't always work. You never know how the parents going to act or say back in response. Teachers should get
paid way more than what they make

Essay On School Days In School
Anaheim Schools have about 180 days in a school year. That is less than what other schools around the country have. This could be the problem
resulting in less student success. In high schools, there are about six periods. Each period is about forty minutes long. This is a short amount of time
for teachers to teach a lesson and help students out. It is also difficult when there are a few days of school left and students are trying to raise their
grades up. In order to increase student success at Anaheim Schools, there should be more school days and fewer vacation days. Having more
school days means that teachers can teach a lesson within two or three days without feeling pressured. It also means that students get to learn more
and ask for help. In the essay Marita's Bargain, by Malcolm Gladwell, states, "The only problem with school, for kids who aren't achieving, is that
there isn't enough of it" (8). It says how there aren't enough school days for students to be successful. He is pointing out that the school year should
have more than 180 days. In Japan, there are 243 days in a school year. Mostly everyone knows that Asians are really smart, so having a longer school
year could result in smarter students and better success. This essay talks about a school called KIPP Academy. The administration strongly believes
that KIPP Academy helps every one of their students become successful. Students have to sacrifice many things to dedicate all their time to this school.

Essay about Public School vs Private School
There are different types of education that a student may receive in today's society. The choices are narrowed down into two main categories, public
and private school. Many people in today's society believe it's better to send their children to private schools rather than public schools. To most
parents deciding which school system will be better is based on curriculum, class size, and most of all cost. It's not an easy choice for parents to
decide, but many parents feel their child is worth receiving the best education offered.
The quality of teaching and the expectations of the students differ from the two schools. Advocates ofprivate school argue that the education received
in one of these facilities is more valuable and...show more content...
One of the most important distinctions between public and private schools is the cost. The question regularly asked is, "Can I afford to send my
child to private school?" Public schools are funded by tax dollars, whereas private schools demand tuition from their students. With private schools
able to charge for tuition, and many charge for textbooks and materials, some offer scholarships for students to help with what is commonly a great
final cost. Public schools are prohibited from charging for tuition, or other fees that could incur, such as: transportation, materials, and textbooks.
Most of the time if public schools need more money for education, taxes are raised. Uniforms are no longer just a private school requirement as many
public schools have started to enforce this as well. Whichever education system a parent chooses there will always be a cost, it is just the difference in
price that has parents wondering is it worth it.
The school chosen is an investment in your child's future and not a decision to be made lightly. Education is vital in today's society. Parents will
always want what is best for their child especially when it comes to education. The better the education the farther you will go in life. Deciding what
and where to receive the best education is always going to be a question for the masses.
Thesis: Many people in today's society believe it's better

School Rules
School rules and regulations are made not to be broken. Rules are made for the safety and better welfare of the students in school. Another is to
promote good behavior among students and to maintain the good image of the school. Parents send their children to school in order for them to learn
not only academic values, but also moral values. Implementing school rules will help the students mold their character and values expected from them
by other people.
There are certain factors why nowadays, students tend not to follow rules disseminated by the school despite of the punishments they will have to
face for doing such actions. Some of the reasons are as follows: peer pressure, drugs, poverty, homelessness, low self esteem, lack of...show more

Since he/she came from a broken family, he/she cannot get support from his/her family and in that way, to get the attention of his/her parents, he/she
tend to do what is wrong just to be noticed by his/her love ones. Students coming from broken families often times become selfish in a way that he/she
is just thinking of his/her own happiness and satisfaction.
The family is the very source of love, support and guidance for each individual. It is where the good character of a person is uprooted. Without the
support and love coming from every member of the family, the person, particularly the students becomes delinquent or simply lost in their moral
values. A student without moral values knows no straight path. He always go on the wrong side of the track just to be noticed.
Media also plays an important role in growing individuals. Most of the students nowadays are exposed to so much in media particularly on local
television. Because at a very young age, they are easily being influenced by what they see and what they hear, especially from those whom they idolize
and frequently see on screen. Sometimes, through media, they witness negative things that they initiate because it was presented or shown beautifully
regardless of being right, or against the rules.
We cannot deny the fact that even though the parents raised their children in ways which they consider as "right," there are still some who lose their
direction. It is true that nobody is perfect. So who

An Argumentative Essay About School Shootings
This world seems to be falling apart, going crazy, or even taking people away out of the blew. One of the main reasons behind that is school
shootings. It tends to happen when people think they are taking their kids into a safe environment. School is supposed to be safe, full of kids talking
to their friends, teachers, and maybe petting the psychologist's dog just saying "hi" to the dog. For the longest time school shootings have been
climbing, occuring more and more. Everyday, bad things happen which show how humanity is cruel. (table1, Mass Shootings Per Year) this graph is
showing how the numbers every year change. Since the year 1982 and 2016, the numbers really do change drastically. It always seems as though

The picture is showing how much we haven't really changed at all in anything. Everyone has their own way of doing things in there life, their way
of saying what is on there mind. But then you have those people who end up getting pushed around every which way the turn their head. One of the
main reason behind the shootings is kids feeling like they need to make a point about how people do not listen to what they have to say and the
shooting is the only way to (wake up some people or the town itself) According to Dewey G. Cornell and Matthew J. Mayer say on my second journal
say "All too often, the response to school violence has centered on simple solutions, such as declaring that schools are gun–free zones or, alternatively,
recommending that teachers arm themselves in order to ward off attacks. Perhaps the most simplistic solution has been the widespread adoption of
zero–tolerance policies, which have resulted in thousands of students being expelled from school each year." (1). That's supposedly helping stop the
shootings, expelling them and making them even more angry at the school, maybe at themselves too and wanting to do it even more so. So instead
of watching the world go insane, go help others, go be the reason people finally wake up to the one word that is losing its self. There is more to life
than watching what everyone else is

Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips!
Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse learning experience for students. School field trips
are an effective means of fun, interactive learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to plan
following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent
change of pace from an enclosed school environment. These day–long excursions are capable of enhancing interactive means of learning; they "add

Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly retain organized, clear information. Planning these
fixed field trips will engage students by peaking their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience.
Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to visit. This museum, is located in New York City
roughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15 students
per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the
school ready to depart by 8:10 in the morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission slip to their
teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves. Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's
cafeteria for lunch, though they may eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for lunch; they
may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go
back to the school. With any extra time

Argumentative Essay: Does School Start Too Early?

Does School start too early?
Many students can admit that they have fallen asleep at least once during a class. It is not the student's fault as to why they fall asleep in class, it is the
early school start times that causes students to fall asleep on their desks during class. Recent studies have shown that more than half of students get less
than eight hours of sleep which is the recommended amount of sleep. School start times contribute to sleep deprivation, car crashes, and lower test
results and overall grades.
Studies have shown that many students blame their sleep deprivation on the early school start times, they are not wrong. Students are supposed to
receive at least 8 hours of sleep each night; however, most teens only average around seven or less hours of sleep as seen in the graph below from
(wake up calls)....show more content...
School start times have a great effect on student sleep deprivation because the early times throw off the student's circadian clock also known as the
internal body rhythm. The circadian clock secretes a hormone called melatonin that helps teens sleep (Ornes). Melatonin is active until approximately
8:30am where as many school start earlier than that at around 7:15am.
School start times not only impact a student's sleep cycle, but they also impact the number of early morning car accidents. Students who are sleep
deprived that drive to school face a huge risk of getting into a car crash that early in the morning. Studies show that "when high schools in Fayette
County, Kentucky, changed their start times from 7:30a.m. to 8:30a.m., teen car crash rates dropped by more than sixteen percent." (Discovery).
Moving start times back in other counties and states will decrease the numbers of teen car

Essay on Why Students Should Go to School
Why should students go to school?
There are several reasons why kids need to go to school but to me, the top three reasons are getting an education helps you go farther in life, it's
required by the state that you go till you reach a certain age, and it will help you learn social skills and help you be comfortable to talking to people.
Although students may not like going to school, it benefits them in the long run. It is important for students to go to school to get an education. Even

If you ever went into a business where you had to do a presentation on a piece of work you've been working on or if you came up with a new idea
that you thought could help your business, you would most likely have to present the information in front of your boss and coworkers. Having
social skills could play a big role in your presentation because if you was not comfortable talking in front of a crowd, then you could either: freeze
up while talking, talk too fast cause you're so nervous and want to get the presentation over with, your face could turn red, etc. But, if you had
social skills and were use to talking in front of a group of people then you will be comfortable presenting your project with no worries. Also by
socializing students can make friends. By making friends school could also be more enjoyable. You will have friends to eat lunch with; friends to
hang out with on the weekends and you will have friends in your classes so they will be less boring. If you went to a school where you didn't have
any friends or where you didn't like anyone, then you will not enjoy the activities you may do in class and you may want to change schools to find
kids that you do like and will enjoy being around. By having social skills it will help you talk to people and make friends.
Students may not like going to school but, it is for the best. By going to school students can get an education and get a job or go to college and

Argumentative Essay On School Start Time
Every morning students in the United States feel the effects the early start time many schools have implemented. These students are lethargic and
inattentive, due to the lack of sleep they are getting every night. Typically, adults see these characteristics as the result of teenagers staying up late
watching Netflix or using their cell phones. Many reputable organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of
Pediatrics, have researched this problem and found that teenagers are lacking in sleep due to biological and physiological changes that are occurring
within their brains. These shifts cause students to be more inattentive and reckless, resulting in lower grades, tardiness, and higher rates of car...show

By requiring teenagers to wake up early, school officials are basically neglecting the health of their student bodies in favor of making their lives
simpler. Despite the overwhelming evidence given by current research, many people refuse to change school start times because of the lack of
noticeable impact some schools had or the impact it had on some people's schedules. Pannoni cites a statement by the Iowa City Community School
District which found that "the later start time . . . [did] not reduce the number of tardy students by any appreciable amount." The principal of Ballard
High School agreed by saying that he "would be surprised to see large improvements in either attendance or grade data compared with past years"
(Pannoni). Many schools refused to change because of how the later start and dismissal times would affect extracurricular activities and students with
jobs. This change would also interfere with bus schedules and childcare habits. However, these seem like small problems that can be overcome when
the results are that "later school start times were associated with students sleeping longer at night, less tardiness, having higher test scores, being less
depressed, using less caffeine and other drugs, . . . and experiencing fewer morning car crashes" (Fenwick). The most compelling evidence that shows

This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a mindset to improve, total transformation will occur. As
we review and synthesize data of a district for planning school improvement, the following information is needed to access and determine the needs of a

During this process, it is very important that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams must refer
to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating
improvement strategies. So, after careful evaluation of the data, the next step would be to plan effective methods and strategies that will improve
student achievement. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the
baseline data is important information to include in the improvement plan.
Data is always the best resource for trying to improve student achievement. The data will help guide continuous improvement of a plan. There are four
types of data that will be beneficial to any team during the planning phase of the school improvement process.

School Life And College Life Essay
An Essay on School Life and College Life
There is a great deal of difference between school life and college life. School life is a life of restrictions and control, a life in which the student has
to be accountable for his daily work to his teachers and his guardian. But a college student, of the other hand, enjoys much greater freedom from
control and supervision; he is, to a very large extent, the master of his own destiny. It lies with him to make it or mar it.
At school the students has to be in attendance for fixed hours every day. He has to leave home at ten or eleven and return at four at college, however, the

for a few minutes after a leisurely meal. On some days he returns early from college; or others, it is late evening by the time he gets back home. He
has ample time at his disposal to use, abuse, or misuse.

college students out of his greater sense of responsibility. Of course it has to be admitted that college life offers greater scope to a student to go astray.
It he takes himself light–heartedly, he will have to suffer. It he allows arrears of studies to accumulate he will pay the price with failure and disgrace.
Hence a studious pupil improves more rapidly at college than at school; but a waster comes quicker to

  • 3. Essay on School Safety: Protecting the Students School Safety: Protecting the Students For many students a positive academic environment is increasingly harder to obtain. This is mainly due to their lack of safety. Whether it be inside the classroom or out. Unfavorable situations at home, psychological stability, physical dangers and violence all contribute to this evident shortage. There have been investigations on how organizations, teachers and parents collaborate together in today's society to influence the students understanding of safety in school. The purpose of this paper is to display some examples of each aforementioned contribution and show some of the current measures being taken to aid today's students. Developments within the past decade have opened up new ways...show more content... And with not caring about safety, leads to not caring of academics. As stated in the NEA article, This positive academic environment begins with safe families and safe communities, statistically, schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. When that is taken away from a student, they have no drive anymore to follow through with their education. A lot of the time weaponry is involved. Children find guns in parent's drawers, or just while they are playing at their friend's house. Older brothers and sisters who might be involved in gangs might have weapons lying around or even feel its cool to show off to their younger siblings and their friends. However, some of the worst violence is not weaponry. It is the harassment from student to student. Psychological stability is a big issue today when it comes to safety. Peer pressure has left children feeling the need to concentrate more on the popular things to do, then what is best for the student; an education. In fact, Hazler, Hoover, and Oliver (1996) reported that three–fourths of the school students they surveyed indicated that they experienced harassment and bullying to such an extent that they suffered academic, personal, and social difficulties (Hernandez). Bullying can impact a child when it comes to learning. Having someone of the same age, belittle, embarrass, and put a child down, most of the time leads the child to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay on School jobs Many high school students want to keep up with the high demand of designer clothes, new movies, and the best five–star restaurants, but really, who in high school can afford those things on their own? If parents are not going to supply the cash for the latest and hottest trends, then who is? With that being said, many students are left with no other choice but to dig into their free time so they can dig into their wallets. That is right, going to work and going to school. On the contrary, not all high school students who are going to after–school jobs are doing it to keep up with the latest and hottest trends. Many students are working part–time jobs so they can pay for postsecondary education, but even then a part–time job may not get a...show more content... I worked at Texas Roadhouse my senior year in high school, and because there were a lot of girls scheduled to work one shift I was not scheduled to work a lot of hours. When I first began working there I was working about thirteen to eighteen hours per week, including weekends. At first it was easy to do so I thought that I could talk with the manager and ask to be scheduled for more hours. After of few weeks of working there I began to work about twenty to twenty–five hours per week. Things started to catch up with me. I went straight from school to work and straight from work to bed. No homework, no study time, and no good grades. According to Sharon Jayson, Irina Voloshin once said," Working for more than 20 hours a week can hamper academic achievement." (par.11). I had completely overloaded myself with work outside of school work. I thought for a brief minute that I wanted the money instead of the grades. I was in route to graduate early and almost knocked it all off track for some extra spending money. I already had everything that I needed but I wanted more and working part–time was such an easy way to get it. Thankfully I saw where I was headed and promptly quit my job. Money makes people greedy and can cloud a persons thinking, especially when people are young and love to indulge. Students have to realize what is write for their future instead of what is right for the moment. .Many high school students find that working a part–time job while Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Motivation To Go Back To School What motivates me to go back to school is my kids; because they are my motivation on doing everything good with my life. You will never know when the time is too late for anything and having a degree in things with good things behind your name is wonderful now and days. I will never again give up on school I have to tell my kids the good things I did before they get old enough to remember things. School is the best thing for anyone to do with their time because education is the best thing going. I choose ICDC College because I been seeing them online and they are the best. You have to know what school toe choose because every school isn't a good school, I honestly like this school so far compared to my last school I attended. • 6. Essay On School Observation The school I chose and was assigned to observe at was Knob Noster Elementary School. I chose to observe at Knob Noster because I attended the school district from elementary to high school; Knob Noster is my hometown. I thought it would be a humbling experience to observe students at the school that I received my education from. It was very nostalgic walking up to the school doors I once entered every day. As I tried to enter the school, I noticed the outside doors were locked; that was a change from when I attended the school. The principal saw me struggling and opened the door for me. He informed me on the security system and told me how I could get in next time. All the outside doors are locked except for one and there is a buzzer system outside of the primary office door where the office women can let people in. After I was allowed in, I signed in to the computer system as a guest and headed to the classroom I would be observing in. On my way to the classroom, I couldn't help but notice that not much about the building had changed. As I walked downstairs to Ms. Gerke's classroom, I even noticed that my kindergarten teacher still worked there in the same exact classroom; I was overwhelmed with nostalgia. In the distance I could hear the chatter of students in classrooms and piano music and singing in the music room. When I arrived in Ms. Gerke's classroom, she was sitting on the floor in a circle with her first graders doing a group activity. As you walk into the classroom, the teacher's desk is on the right. Behind her desk is a seating area with a rug in front of the smart board, along with a computer next to it. Along the far–right side of her classroom is a line of cabinets with decorations, books, turn–in boxes and more on it. The classroom walls were full of large letters, numbers, and inspirational quotes. The back of her classroom included a reading center and both a boy's and girl's restroom. There weren't too many desks in her classroom, but the desks she had were long and could seat at least four students. Overall, I would describe Ms. Gerke's classroom as bright and colorful. After about an hour into my observation, it was time for Ms. Gerke's plan period. Ms. Gerke explained that she had Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay About School Change School! How do you see the school? How do other people see the school? Should school still exist or continue? Should they radically change? Should teachers get paid more? Should they teach more? Make it easier to go to college? What do you think your school should change? What should they add or take away? There are so many questions. There's a lot of opinions and disagreements. What do I think about school? Some people say we shouldn't have school. Hi I'm a fellow student, that's in the 9th grade and these are my opinion about school. In my opinion, school is preparing us for jobs and more. We are in school for a good 8 hours, most likely we be working 8 hours or more doing jobs. People think they can learn on their own. So you telling me you can learn other languages, chemistry/biology, mathematics, and etc. I think not! School helps us out a lot if you really look at it. By teaching us step by step. Focusing on our main problem. School is starting a radical change. As the years go by schools are changing (radically). I honestly like looking through the books instead of looking online. Reading and writing is the right way, the old fashion way. Don't get me wrong online is a good use too. I would like to stay between really. Read and write, I feel like I learn a lot better that way and memorized it a lot more. Let's say the largest is 15–27 students. The teacher has a bad and good students. The bad students have been acting up lately and their influence the good students to act a fool. Now the class is a racket. Just imagine you going through that every day. That's's stressful and tiring. You may say principal or call their parents. Come on now that don't always work. You never know how the parents going to act or say back in response. Teachers should get paid way more than what they make Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay On School Days In School Anaheim Schools have about 180 days in a school year. That is less than what other schools around the country have. This could be the problem resulting in less student success. In high schools, there are about six periods. Each period is about forty minutes long. This is a short amount of time for teachers to teach a lesson and help students out. It is also difficult when there are a few days of school left and students are trying to raise their grades up. In order to increase student success at Anaheim Schools, there should be more school days and fewer vacation days. Having more school days means that teachers can teach a lesson within two or three days without feeling pressured. It also means that students get to learn more and ask for help. In the essay Marita's Bargain, by Malcolm Gladwell, states, "The only problem with school, for kids who aren't achieving, is that there isn't enough of it" (8). It says how there aren't enough school days for students to be successful. He is pointing out that the school year should have more than 180 days. In Japan, there are 243 days in a school year. Mostly everyone knows that Asians are really smart, so having a longer school year could result in smarter students and better success. This essay talks about a school called KIPP Academy. The administration strongly believes that KIPP Academy helps every one of their students become successful. Students have to sacrifice many things to dedicate all their time to this school. • 9. Essay about Public School vs Private School There are different types of education that a student may receive in today's society. The choices are narrowed down into two main categories, public and private school. Many people in today's society believe it's better to send their children to private schools rather than public schools. To most parents deciding which school system will be better is based on curriculum, class size, and most of all cost. It's not an easy choice for parents to decide, but many parents feel their child is worth receiving the best education offered. The quality of teaching and the expectations of the students differ from the two schools. Advocates ofprivate school argue that the education received in one of these facilities is more valuable and...show more content... One of the most important distinctions between public and private schools is the cost. The question regularly asked is, "Can I afford to send my child to private school?" Public schools are funded by tax dollars, whereas private schools demand tuition from their students. With private schools able to charge for tuition, and many charge for textbooks and materials, some offer scholarships for students to help with what is commonly a great final cost. Public schools are prohibited from charging for tuition, or other fees that could incur, such as: transportation, materials, and textbooks. Most of the time if public schools need more money for education, taxes are raised. Uniforms are no longer just a private school requirement as many public schools have started to enforce this as well. Whichever education system a parent chooses there will always be a cost, it is just the difference in price that has parents wondering is it worth it. The school chosen is an investment in your child's future and not a decision to be made lightly. Education is vital in today's society. Parents will always want what is best for their child especially when it comes to education. The better the education the farther you will go in life. Deciding what and where to receive the best education is always going to be a question for the masses. Thesis: Many people in today's society believe it's better Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. School Rules School rules and regulations are made not to be broken. Rules are made for the safety and better welfare of the students in school. Another is to promote good behavior among students and to maintain the good image of the school. Parents send their children to school in order for them to learn not only academic values, but also moral values. Implementing school rules will help the students mold their character and values expected from them by other people. There are certain factors why nowadays, students tend not to follow rules disseminated by the school despite of the punishments they will have to face for doing such actions. Some of the reasons are as follows: peer pressure, drugs, poverty, homelessness, low self esteem, lack of...show more content... Since he/she came from a broken family, he/she cannot get support from his/her family and in that way, to get the attention of his/her parents, he/she tend to do what is wrong just to be noticed by his/her love ones. Students coming from broken families often times become selfish in a way that he/she is just thinking of his/her own happiness and satisfaction. The family is the very source of love, support and guidance for each individual. It is where the good character of a person is uprooted. Without the support and love coming from every member of the family, the person, particularly the students becomes delinquent or simply lost in their moral values. A student without moral values knows no straight path. He always go on the wrong side of the track just to be noticed. Media also plays an important role in growing individuals. Most of the students nowadays are exposed to so much in media particularly on local television. Because at a very young age, they are easily being influenced by what they see and what they hear, especially from those whom they idolize and frequently see on screen. Sometimes, through media, they witness negative things that they initiate because it was presented or shown beautifully regardless of being right, or against the rules. We cannot deny the fact that even though the parents raised their children in ways which they consider as "right," there are still some who lose their direction. It is true that nobody is perfect. • 11. An Argumentative Essay About School Shootings This world seems to be falling apart, going crazy, or even taking people away out of the blew. One of the main reasons behind that is school shootings. It tends to happen when people think they are taking their kids into a safe environment. School is supposed to be safe, full of kids talking to their friends, teachers, and maybe petting the psychologist's dog just saying "hi" to the dog. For the longest time school shootings have been climbing, occuring more and more. Everyday, bad things happen which show how humanity is cruel. (table1, Mass Shootings Per Year) this graph is showing how the numbers every year change. Since the year 1982 and 2016, the numbers really do change drastically. It always seems as though whenever something bad...show more content... The picture is showing how much we haven't really changed at all in anything. Everyone has their own way of doing things in there life, their way of saying what is on there mind. But then you have those people who end up getting pushed around every which way the turn their head. One of the main reason behind the shootings is kids feeling like they need to make a point about how people do not listen to what they have to say and the shooting is the only way to (wake up some people or the town itself) According to Dewey G. Cornell and Matthew J. Mayer say on my second journal say "All too often, the response to school violence has centered on simple solutions, such as declaring that schools are gun–free zones or, alternatively, recommending that teachers arm themselves in order to ward off attacks. Perhaps the most simplistic solution has been the widespread adoption of zero–tolerance policies, which have resulted in thousands of students being expelled from school each year." (1). That's supposedly helping stop the shootings, expelling them and making them even more angry at the school, maybe at themselves too and wanting to do it even more so. So instead of watching the world go insane, go help others, go be the reason people finally wake up to the one word that is losing its self. • 12. Persuasive Essay About School Trip Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips! Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed school environment. Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly retain organized, clear information. Planning these fixed field trips will engage students by peaking their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience. Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to visit. This museum, is located in New York City roughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15 students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the school ready to depart by 8:10 in the morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves. Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Argumentative Essay: Does School Start Too Early? Madeline Crouch English 3 4 August 2015 Does School start too early? Many students can admit that they have fallen asleep at least once during a class. It is not the student's fault as to why they fall asleep in class, it is the early school start times that causes students to fall asleep on their desks during class. Recent studies have shown that more than half of students get less than eight hours of sleep which is the recommended amount of sleep. School start times contribute to sleep deprivation, car crashes, and lower test results and overall grades. Studies have shown that many students blame their sleep deprivation on the early school start times, they are not wrong. Students are supposed to receive at least 8 hours of sleep each night; however, most teens only average around seven or less hours of sleep as seen in the graph below from (wake up calls)....show more content... School start times have a great effect on student sleep deprivation because the early times throw off the student's circadian clock also known as the internal body rhythm. The circadian clock secretes a hormone called melatonin that helps teens sleep (Ornes). Melatonin is active until approximately 8:30am where as many school start earlier than that at around 7:15am. School start times not only impact a student's sleep cycle, but they also impact the number of early morning car accidents. Students who are sleep deprived that drive to school face a huge risk of getting into a car crash that early in the morning. Studies show that "when high schools in Fayette County, Kentucky, changed their start times from 7:30a.m. to 8:30a.m., teen car crash rates dropped by more than sixteen percent." (Discovery). If you ever went into a business where you had to do a presentation on a piece of work you've been working on or if you came up with a new idea that you thought could help your business, you would most likely have to present the information in front of your boss and coworkers. Having social skills could play a big role in your presentation because if you was not comfortable talking in front of a crowd, then you could either: freeze up while talking, talk too fast cause you're so nervous and want to get the presentation over with, your face could turn red, etc. But, if you had social skills and were use to talking in front of a group of people then you will be comfortable presenting your project with no worries. Also by socializing students can make friends. By making friends school could also be more enjoyable. You will have friends to eat lunch with; friends to hang out with on the weekends and you will have friends in your classes so they will be less boring. If you went to a school where you didn't have any friends or where you didn't like anyone, then you will not enjoy the activities you may do in class and you may want to change schools to find kids that you do like and will enjoy being around. • 15. Argumentative Essay On School Start Time Every morning students in the United States feel the effects the early start time many schools have implemented. These students are lethargic and inattentive, due to the lack of sleep they are getting every night. Typically, adults see these characteristics as the result of teenagers staying up late watching Netflix or using their cell phones. Many reputable organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics, have researched this problem and found that teenagers are lacking in sleep due to biological and physiological changes that are occurring within their brains. These shifts cause students to be more inattentive and reckless, resulting in lower grades, tardiness, and higher rates of car...show more content... By requiring teenagers to wake up early, school officials are basically neglecting the health of their student bodies in favor of making their lives simpler. Despite the overwhelming evidence given by current research, many people refuse to change school start times because of the lack of noticeable impact some schools had or the impact it had on some people's schedules. Pannoni cites a statement by the Iowa City Community School District which found that "the later start time . . . [did] not reduce the number of tardy students by any appreciable amount." The principal of Ballard High School agreed by saying that he "would be surprised to see large improvements in either attendance or grade data compared with past years" (Pannoni). Many schools refused to change because of how the later start and dismissal times would affect extracurricular activities and students with jobs. This change would also interfere with bus schedules and childcare habits. However, these seem like small problems that can be overcome when the results are that "later school start times were associated with students sleeping longer at night, less tardiness, having higher test scores, being less depressed, using less caffeine and other drugs, . . . and experiencing fewer morning car crashes" (Fenwick). The most compelling evidence that shows changing school start Get more content on HelpWriting.net

First, a thorough analysis of performance data must be reviewed to see how school districts measure up with state and federal accountability. During this process, it is very important that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams must refer to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating improvement strategies. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the baseline data is important information to include in the improvement plan. • 20. School Life And College Life Essay An Essay on School Life and College Life There is a great deal of difference between school life and college life. School life is a life of restrictions and control, a life in which the student has to be accountable for his daily work to his teachers and his guardian. But a college student, of the other hand, enjoys much greater freedom from control and supervision; he is, to a very large extent, the master of his own destiny. It lies with him to make it or mar it. At school the students has to be in attendance for fixed hours every day. He has to leave home at ten or eleven and return at four at college, however, the hours of attendance very. Sometimes, a college student has hardly time in the morning to gulp his food; at others, he has enough time to lounge about for a few minutes after a leisurely meal. On some days he returns early from college; or others, it is late evening by the time he gets back home. He has ample time at his disposal to use, abuse, or misuse.
