Relationship Between Friends And Family
Evaluate critically the relationship between friends and families in modern social life
The line which separates the family from the friends has become more and more, undistinguishable within the modern and social life of today. 'I have
another family who are my friends ... I don't really subscribe to the definition of family as people that you're related to by blood or by marriage'
(Spencer & Pahl. 2006. P.108), this gives us evidence that the ties between friends and family have become less rigid in the modern social life. The
modern nuclear family has drastically changed over the past 50 years; women are becoming less reliant on men and pursuing carriers rather than
settling down with a family. Children are being born into a broken home or with just a mother or father. To begin with, this essay will define the
difference between 'friends' and 'family' and then scrutinize the relationship between friends and family and how these ties are continuing to modify,
within the modern world. This essay will also discuss the difference between 'given' and 'chosen' relationships and make note of how suffusion comes
into play. I will also discuss how postmodernism and mobility come into play within the relationship between friends and families within the modern
social life. Throughout this I will make reference to the work of Pahl and Spencer and scrutinize their work, with help of a variety of different authors,
such as, Wilkinson and Smart.
There are many different definitions of

Building A Good Relationship With Your Family
The way to build a good relationship with your family is to trust them and learn how to accept what they have to say in order to gain their trust. Family
relationships are important because it plays a crucial role in instilling values and teaching responsibilities. Children who grow up in healthy families can
create better relationships outside their families. Good relationships also help in solving misunderstandings in the family, thus creating a stable unity.
Healthy relationships help family members to have good communication and positive connection within the family. Creating time for family and
supporting each other helps in creating strong family relationships. Family relationships was the main theme in the four texts that i have read/watched:
Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not without my Daughter. This has influenced a number of authors to write and directors to
direct or make a film about this certain topic because it focuses on the family itself which can have an impact on the audience who may be
experiencing this kind of problem in the text. This is shown in the four texts that I have studied: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and
Not Without my Daughter. These texts were influenced by family problems and secrets within our daily lives.
In the Film, The Castle we are able to see what a good family relationship is. Daryl Kerrigan is trying to fight to save his home which he calls his
"Castle" even though the house is not in good

The Importance Of A Strong Family Relationships
Strong Family Relationships
A family, by definition, is a fundamental social unit consisting of parents and children who typically live together. However, many would argue that a
family is more than that; a family is a group of people willing to do anything for each other because they truly love and care for one another no matter
what. Strong families create relationships based on unconditional love and rely on their family bond when trials arise. Emotional success, or control
over one's emotions during trials and challenges that emerge when striving to achieve one's purpose and goals, is necessary for life. Strong family
relationships are imperative to emotional success.
Loyalty, trust, gratitude, and love are essential core values in a strong family relationship. Without these core values, the bond between a family
remains weak and eventually falls apart. Family loyalty is an essential value in a person's lives meaning, each and every member of the family
remains loyal to all other family members. Making sure to be there in every situation is what truly counts in a family (Strengthen the Family `Bond`).
Loyalty in a family means that family always comes first, even if members must make sacrifices in other areas of life. "Loyalty builds through sickness
and health, want and good fortune, failure and success, and all the things the family faces." (Advocatesforyouth.org). Families that are there for each
other through the high times and the lows build loyalty

Relationships And The Family
Do all past relationships change who people are in their future, even if it's a good relationship? All the answers to this will not be the same.
Relationships can change people in a good way or in a bad way. People can take these relationships to the heart and way too serious. Others wouldnВґt
take it too seriously and wouldn't care. Relationships can make people stronger and also people can make them miserable. People can have a bad
relationship with their family. For example, the story, ВЁWithout Title: for my father who lived without ceremonyВЁ by Diane Glancy. In the
story, a girl never appreciated her father until she grew up and realized her father was sacrificing everything for her and the family. My personal
experience is I never would appreciate my parents until I grew up and now I have a great relationship with both. Now, I really appreciate them for
every little thing they do for me and the family. I even appreciate my older brother because heВґs like a second father to me and heВґs like my best
friend. A lot of people have a great relationship with...show more content...
For example, ВЁThe Glass CastleВЁ, itВґs about a memoir of Jeannette Walls and itВґs about every detail of her life of the past and future. Herself and
her father have a very special bond together but when she grew up and finally realized how her father really is, their bond really changed. She
thinks her dad is a bad father when she was in her high school years. My personal experience is about my very close bond with my best friend.
We're going to know each other for 3 years, but our bond isn't the same. Someone came into his life and changed everything. Now, I wonder if we're
still best friends. A bond you have/had with a significant other won't be the same or can be the same it depends on what goes on in each other's

As usual, people have three relationships during whole their lives: romantic, friendship, and family. While family is one of the longest lasting
relationship over all. There is identified as the strongest relationship and the most effect to personal characters. Unlike other relationship, family
affection is cultivated during a long time by sticking together and blood related. Even the family relationship is not dreamy and romantic as loving
relationship, not funny and comfortable such as friendship. But that is the most reliable people can believe in. In my opinion, all relationships in
society are a test but family. After a while, not easy to understand because of my young, I have realized that all parents love their children...show more

Therefore, I took my focus into Interior Design which one I love the most. With unlimited passion, I always try to do my best because I really really
want to study that major. One day, when I request myparent's permission and tuition fee to apply to art school, without thinking, they said "NO" like
they never supported me before. After a fierce quarrel between me and my parent, they decided to incinerate my sketching and drawing book to
warning me. It has not stopped there, they threw out all of my art supplies and oblige me become a pharmacist. All progress were suddenly happened
and I was wondering what was going on. Next that day, my parents purchased too many chemical and biological books for me. At that time, they
would say that if I still want to study interior design, or they would not support me by providing money per month. Studying interior design in Vietnam
is not easy to self–cover all costs because the art supplies are too expensive throughout the learning process. There was the worst time that I never

Family Relationships With My Family
For two year, the first year my mother left dad, we lived with my maternal grandparents. Although, I was toddler at the time I still acknowledge their
efforts and support for a period my family needed it the most. They occasionally visited for Christmas and for four of their granddaughters' quince,
including mine. I visited them four times in Mexico. Because they live in Mexico is it hard to keep constant contact with them. But they both had a
huge influence and I have great respect for them. When they visited Nebraska, they stayed in the household for a couples of weeks. The most important
extended family relationships are with my mom's sisters and brother who reside in Nebraska.
The most important relationship outside my immediate family is with my cousin Brenda because she is my best friend. We are only three months
apart from each other and have many similarities. We attended elementary and high school together. I honestly do not think our parents would have
handle us in the same middle school. We both attend UNL for our undergraduate. This year she moved to Colorado for graduate school. I spend a lot
of time at her house, therefore, her parents had a huge impact on my upbringing. Her parents, my aunt Carmen and uncle Javier, would also take my
sister and I out for entertainment. Some of those include Disneyland, Worlds of Fun, and Oceans of Fun. My aunt was very aware of my family
relationship and the hostile relationship with my dad, that I think she also invited us

My Family Relationship
A primary relationship in my life would have to be with my mother. This may sound a little strange; however, I used to not be around my mother
often. My mom and I had a bad relationship when I was growing up. We fought constantly, or she was never home to support me. Despite this, my
mother and I have a very good relationship now. I tell her everything about my life and we go out to lunch and mingle. She is very supportive, listens
to my problems, and she tries to help me with my needs. The fundamental attribution error states that there is an error in the explanation for another
person's behavior. My mom and I did not understand each other at all. She always thought that there were external attributions affecting my behavior.
However, they were internal. My mom did not understand that others were not making me angry, it was her. She would ignore me and exclude me. My
mom and I used to argue non–stop about everything when I was growing up. For example, when I was in seventh grade, I had recently bought my
own perfume,. However, the perfume that I bought was Axe women's perfume, which has a very strong fragrance. One day before school, I appently
sprayed a little too much of the perfume, and my mom did not like that. She started screaming at me and we started to quarrle about my perfume.
Eventually, my mom threw the can outside busting the whole bottle so i could no longer use it. I left for school, and for the remainder of the day I
was angry with my mother. The problem

Characteristics Of Family Relationships
A famous poet Joseph Brodsky once said, "Cherish your human connections: your relationships with friends and family." I am Milagro Falcon my
sisters' opposite, my mothers' follower, and my friends' deepest supporter. A relationship can constitute many things not just a romantic relationship. As
a young adult I still have not had a romantic relationship with someone yet that does not mean I do not have other relationships. I do have a certain
relationship with my family and friends thus my relationship personality and relationship personality traits differ. There are various theories and terms
that can explain the characteristics of a relationship. An example would be friendship love which is love based on common concerns and interests,
companionship, and respect for the partner's personality and character. As a young adult social learning theory has shaped my mom's views into my
own leading to sibling rivalry bringing more flavor to the family, also my relationship with my friends has spurred as altruistic love.
What is social learning theory and how has it shaped my relationships? Social learning theory as described in the book Intimate Relationships,
Marriages, and Families by Nick Stinnett states it is a theory that suggests behaving in relationships by modeling their parents' behaviors and
attitudes. To me it means the way a person's parents acted in a relationship thus the child mirrors in later relationships. My mother has taught me
the basics like do not eat my buggers and eat with my mouth closed everything parents basically teach a child. Nevertheless, the core values I
learned from her relationship with my father is to be independent, and communication is key. I did not have a male figure in my life till I was six
years old. At that age I started to see what a family is like and the foundation of one. I quickly saw the difference from when it was just my mother
and I. Before seeing my mom in a relationship, I had already seen the sense of independence and it just moved along in the relationship. My mother
did not go to school, but she never depended on a man. Even when she was with my step dad she was still independent making her money and doing
her owns things while still being in a

Family Dynamics
Although they endure some vague differences, the similarities in the character relationships in "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" by
Joyce Oates and "Fences" by August Wilson are remarkably clear and merit a rigorous investigation. Therefore, focus will be placed on the
relationship differences and/or similarities of comparable characters in each writing, to expose how the family dynamics of parents, children, and
siblings can often be influential, ambiguous, and frequently even lacking.
In both the short fiction and the drama we are introduced to families, however, each come from different economic and societal backgrounds.
Consequently, those backgrounds are factors in the family dynamic forces in each writing. The family in "Where Are You Going, Where Have You
Been?" is a middle–class family that lives in the suburbs, which includes a mother, father and two daughters. In contrast, the family in "Fences" is a
low–class, blended city family with a father, his wife and three children by three different women. Nonetheless, neither family has been relieved of the
struggle of complicated relationships within. Despite the social status, the family relationships portrayed by Oates is in a much darker place
emotionally than the family depicted by Wilson.
The main character in "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" is Connie, the daughter of the family. She has a non
–existent relationship with
her father as Oates proclaims, "he was away at work

My Family Relationship
Once a close friendship is built with someone, eventually, a relationship with their mothers has to be established; whether it is a close or just a
comfortable relationship. We all have felt or acted a certain way toward our friends' mothers. The friendships I have established with some of my
friend's moms are handled at different extremities, ranging from "nice weather we're having" to the coffee talks. Each has a different personality that
allows us to classify them into certain groups; some are cool like the one you are unusually close to. There are also those mothers in which you try to
limit conversation like the one that thinks she is cool and the one that barely partakes in verbal interactions, the strict mom. The mother you are
unusually close to could have heart–to–hearts with you even when your friend is not present for a long period of time. You could easily talk about
politics, your lifestyle, etc. If she were the same age as you, it is likely the two of you would be close friends who hang out all the time. She welcomes
you into the family and her home always. The way she dresses is classy chic; she wears black heels from Louis Vuitton, skinny faux leather pants,
and a red flowy shirt. My friend's mom never failed to welcome me excitingly at the door, especially when we haven't seen each other in a while.
Needless to say, I was very excited to go to her house mainly because I wanted to see her mom. It was an unusual "friendship" her mother and I had.

My Family Relationship
I have a very close relationship with my parents. My mother's name is Becky she has always been very caring and she has stuck up for me ever
since I was little and unable to do it myself. My Father's name is Lonnie he has taught me how to be strong and has shown me how to do different
activities like how to build stuff and fix cars. I tell my parents pretty much everything we have a very trusting relationship I never had a curfew and I
was able to go where ever I wanted whenever I wanted as long as I let them know where I was going to be.
My sister Mahayla and I have a very unique relationship she is like my best friend. We are very close and spend such a large amount of time together
that every once in awhile we must have some time apart because we have spent too much time together.
My family expects me to be the best person I can be and to do everything with my fullest potential so that I can always be proud of what I have
accomplished. I can always depend on my family to be there when I need them and be supportive of what I do.
Along with my immediate family my relationship with my extended family is also very close, especially on my mother's side. My grandparents are
very caring and supportive of me and always come to all of my events. My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was younger and my
grandfather has shown me that no matter how old you get you can always be fun and crazy. My mother's sister Rachel is like a second mother to me

Sibling Relationships And Family Relationships
Over time the relationships you have with your siblings change, you can start out not liking each other and then in later life being to love or tolerate
each other ("Brothers, Sisters and Aging Parents", 2014). Late adulthood is defined as being over the age of sixty–five (Later Adulthood, n.d.). The
sibling relationships is forced relationships that are maintained by the siblings to foster a lifelong relationship (Martin, Anderson, & Rocca, 2005).
Siblings play very different roles for each other, friend, competitor, manager, and teacher (as cited in Martin et al., 2005). Sibling relationships can be
of three different types: Brother and brother, sister and sister, and brother and sister, all three will be discussed. Brother and Brother relationships out
of the three types seem to have the least amount of telephone contact of all the types (Spitze & Trent, 2006). Tend to help each other more with giving
help to each other than receiving help from each other, brothers tend to help with giving advice over helping each other with transportation (Spitze &
Trent, 2006). Brothers would rather receive help with child care then be the brother providing the child care (Spitze & Trent, 2006). Brother
relationships tend to be completive with each other trying to outdo each other. Brothers tend to visit each other about three times a month (Spitze &
Trent, 2006). Brothers tend to help each other with repairs more than any other sibling type (Spitze &Trent, 2006). Sister and

Causes And Effects Of Family Relationships
Chapter 1 –Family Relationships
Family relations refers to the relationship (of blood, marriage, adoption, etc.) amongst different members of a family. Strong Family relations are
considered to be the most significant factor for the overall growth and well–being of a child. Healthy family relationships encourages the spread of
good habits from the parents to their children and teaches us new ways of thinking, acting and feeling. Other inspirations includes friends, teachers,
buddies, and other acquaintances, but they are comparatively temporary. The family interactions plays an exceptional role in preparing the new
generation for life in the society. Healthy family relationships is also of great importance for older people as they can feel...show more content...
The old joint family system has nearly crumbled, with nuclear families, comprising three or four family members is becoming the norm. In smaller
towns and village, there is still a concept of extended families, which is a smaller version of joint family but is bigger than the nuclear family. There
have been several causes that have been increasing the breakdown of our old extended families.
First, the spread of female education has been changing the outlook of women about life and family. In most cases when an educated girl enters her
husband's family as a bride, she desires to set up her liberated establishment of her own, without the interference from other senior members.
Second cause of this breakdown is due to disparity in the income of different family members, which provides a reason for breakdown of big families.
This disparity can become the cause for frictions in the family and members with better income could feel bogged down in the extended family setup.
Thirdly, thanks to globalization and internet, the world has become a global village and consumerism prompts the prosperous members of a family to
come out of the old way of life and

Importance Of Family Relationships
The connection of various individual by marriage, blood, etc are considered as family relationships. Moreover, these connections are considered to be
the most important building block for the comprehensive development of individuals in our society. Family relationships, whether they may be
harmonious or disruptive, serves as an important driving force for all individuals interactions in the outside world. While, these relationships may either
be destructive or harmonious, they promote the transmission of good behaviours, cultural influences and other specific ways of life from the older to
the younger members of the family unit. Harmonious relationships are more pleasing and consistently allows members of the family to feel more
comfortable. Also, a strong bond is formed among the family members. On the other hand, destructive family relationships builds and maintain tension
between the individuals, which ultimately prevents the proper transfer of good values and attitudes to the members. This type of relationship can be
directly attributed to the future problems faced by individuals nurtured by the a disruptive family. In "Two Kind" by Amy Tan and "Story of the Hour"
by Kate Chopin, family relationships plays an important role in the outcome of an individual in both positive and negative manner.
Family relationships are sometimes hard to maintain and sometimes it is also the best part of growing up. In "Two Kinds" by Amy Tan, readers are
presented with a mother–daughter

Social media has a big impact on family relationships. It is a media that allows the individuals to exchange information. Social media is breaking
up families relationships and it is a huge problem in demand of communicating. The media had made lots of bad influence on families, especially
the addiction of how it has been used by humans. Families are changing the way they relate to each other. There is no privacy in a social world.
According to (JR) "The more social media we have, the more we think were connecting, yet we are really disconnecting from each other". I 'm
therefore against social media and its extraordinary use. That is why there are lots of advantages and disadvantages in a social habitant. It is
important to change how families and individuals see social media as a hobby rather than as a waste of time. A new technology comes up and it
integral the families and individuals life, wondering what can a technology reflect or interfere in our daily bases. Social media has many conflict that
makes individuals be attached too. Families not having to visit each other face to face, because it's an easier way to connect by socialism, such as

THE PROBLEM AND ITS STUDY
1. Introduction
Family is very important part of our everyday life. It helps us in improving our personality. It also helps us in shaping our life. It teaches us the value
of love, affection, care, truthfulness and self–confidence and provides us tools and suggestions which are necessary to get success in life.
Family is a place where you can be yourself. It is a place where you are accepted for what you are. This is where you are completely tension free and
everyone is there to help you. Family encourages you when you are surrounded by problems. It helps you survive through tough times and bring joy
and happiness into life.

Psychologists believe that a child learns the most from his or her family life. The way your family members deal with you has a life long effect on
your personality. Keeping in view all these facts the importance of your family life cannot be denied. Family unit happens to be the most important
part of your life till you grow up. The children are usually closer to their parents and their siblings as compared to any other person in the world. As
the children grow up they find good friends, spouses, their own kids and colleagues to share their lives with. Although time brings this change but the
importance of family remains there. The children who have a sound family background and who belong to a family with strong family ties are almost
always happier. Thus one cannot deny the importance of family life.
The life with your family is very important it plays a major role in your development into the person you become. The goals you set for yourself in
your life are very much dependent on the life you have with your family. Those children who belong to the families which have a rich education
background tend to learn more. They are interested in learning more and thus it is easy for their parents to get them educated. Similarly, for example,
children who belong to a family from which a few of the people are in the field of professional sports, the kids tend to have an interest in sports and

Reflection on Family
Family Reflection
"No one is ever born into Life alone. Everyone has shared the bond of family, at least at birth, and for many people it is a bond that will follow them
throughout life. For many people it is the most important bond of all."
Family means many things to different people, yet the word itself can bring about a host of emotions from anyone who hears the word uttered. As a
child growing up in the 60s and 70s the family dynamic was defined by the people we grew up with were related to by blood, and extended to the many
family members of the different generations that made up the family unit.
I have fond memories of growing up with love and compassion, by the people who I was surrounded with. The feeling of...show more content...
The people may be different, but, the bonds will grow and develop in our existence.
I remember the feeling of completeness and security I had growing up with my mom, dad, grandparents, and extended family members. I always
felt like I belonged and was accepted for me. People are not perfect, sometimes in actions and words, but, knowing the unconditional love that we
are surrounded with by our families keeps us grounded in our true selves. Now that I am older, I feel the same security that I experienced while
growing up. A familiarity of comfort that brings me to a place of peace and security. My own comfort zone where I am loved, happy, cared for and
needed.
A family can be defined in many ways, but the common denominator in all is the love and fulfillment one gets by being surrounded by family
members. Families can sometimes be at odds with each other, but the strain of this type of relationship usually creates an upsetting feeling to the
people involved. People want others to rely on, talk to, do things with, share, love, embrace, and be part of. No matter what the family dynamic is the
qualities the word family has will remain the same, as time goes by, and life evolves once again for every person living their

Parenting Family Relationships
In most of the societies about a century ago, the family was the most valued system in almost all spheres of life and human living. Family is the only
institution which provides the security and support without any rewards in return. The effectiveness of family functioning in conditioning the
children's personality and social development has an outstanding importance (Roelfse and Middleton, 1985). The family interactions play an important
role in the development of an individual. These interactions and interpersonal relationships are seen between parents, parent and child, siblings, and
any other relative or person living in the household. The healthy functioning of these interaction patterns enhances mental health of the individual
Children need a happy and stable family environment and a conductive social network for their overall growth and development. Yet, happy families
are not happy all the time. Disagreements and conflicts are a necessary part of living closely together. Both love and hate are to be expected in the
intensity of family life and peers interactions, but it is the way negative emotions are handled that makes a difference to family life and social
interactions (Parke and Buriel, 1998). Parenting has long been recognized as making an important contribution to the development of competencies and
problem behavior among children and adolescents. However, recently researchers have begun to develop attention to understanding variations in

Family Relations : Family Relationships Essay
Introduction Family relationships are complicated, even more if it is regarding family business. Negotiations between family members are different
from negotiations between non–family members. The relationships between brothers lead them to stronger sensitivity and loyalty. Family relationships
have developed over years of interacting. Sometimes family members struggle over the appropriate role to play in this negotiation process. There is
increased opportunity for misunderstanding and conflict if negotiation style and approach will be wrong. In the case of family relationships all family
members are affected. Family members' support may be critical for reaching a negotiated outcome. One wants to be winner in any negotiation, but it
does not nessesarily mean that conterpart will lose. There should be right common ground and mutually acceptable outcome. In this essay I will talk
about family conflict negotiation. Brother's relationships will be used as an example in this report. In an age of booming technology, running a
business without computers is like trying to breathe without lungs. Computer system will make business easier. It will help to increase the efficiency
and productivity of work. In this case the negotiation process is about explaining the value of computers to the brother. In this analysis next points will
be considered: Understanding other's needs and motivations Credibility Common ground Joint problem solving Outcome Emotions and basic instincts

Modern Relationships Blurring Family and Friend Boundaries

  • 1. Relationship Between Friends And Family Evaluate critically the relationship between friends and families in modern social life The line which separates the family from the friends has become more and more, undistinguishable within the modern and social life of today. 'I have another family who are my friends ... I don't really subscribe to the definition of family as people that you're related to by blood or by marriage' (Spencer & Pahl. 2006. P.108), this gives us evidence that the ties between friends and family have become less rigid in the modern social life. The modern nuclear family has drastically changed over the past 50 years; women are becoming less reliant on men and pursuing carriers rather than settling down with a family. Children are being born into a broken home or with just a mother or father. To begin with, this essay will define the difference between 'friends' and 'family' and then scrutinize the relationship between friends and family and how these ties are continuing to modify, within the modern world. This essay will also discuss the difference between 'given' and 'chosen' relationships and make note of how suffusion comes into play. I will also discuss how postmodernism and mobility come into play within the relationship between friends and families within the modern social life. Throughout this I will make reference to the work of Pahl and Spencer and scrutinize their work, with help of a variety of different authors, such as, Wilkinson and Smart. There are many different definitions of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Building A Good Relationship With Your Family The way to build a good relationship with your family is to trust them and learn how to accept what they have to say in order to gain their trust. Family relationships are important because it plays a crucial role in instilling values and teaching responsibilities. Children who grow up in healthy families can create better relationships outside their families. Good relationships also help in solving misunderstandings in the family, thus creating a stable unity. Healthy relationships help family members to have good communication and positive connection within the family. Creating time for family and supporting each other helps in creating strong family relationships. Family relationships was the main theme in the four texts that i have read/watched: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not without my Daughter. This has influenced a number of authors to write and directors to direct or make a film about this certain topic because it focuses on the family itself which can have an impact on the audience who may be experiencing this kind of problem in the text. This is shown in the four texts that I have studied: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not Without my Daughter. These texts were influenced by family problems and secrets within our daily lives. In the Film, The Castle we are able to see what a good family relationship is. Daryl Kerrigan is trying to fight to save his home which he calls his "Castle" even though the house is not in good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Importance Of A Strong Family Relationships Strong Family Relationships A family, by definition, is a fundamental social unit consisting of parents and children who typically live together. However, many would argue that a family is more than that; a family is a group of people willing to do anything for each other because they truly love and care for one another no matter what. Strong families create relationships based on unconditional love and rely on their family bond when trials arise. Emotional success, or control over one's emotions during trials and challenges that emerge when striving to achieve one's purpose and goals, is necessary for life. Strong family relationships are imperative to emotional success. Loyalty, trust, gratitude, and love are essential core values in a strong family relationship. Without these core values, the bond between a family remains weak and eventually falls apart. Family loyalty is an essential value in a person's lives meaning, each and every member of the family remains loyal to all other family members. Making sure to be there in every situation is what truly counts in a family (Strengthen the Family `Bond`). Loyalty in a family means that family always comes first, even if members must make sacrifices in other areas of life. "Loyalty builds through sickness and health, want and good fortune, failure and success, and all the things the family faces." (Advocatesforyouth.org). Families that are there for each other through the high times and the lows build loyalty Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Relationships And The Family Do all past relationships change who people are in their future, even if it's a good relationship? All the answers to this will not be the same. Relationships can change people in a good way or in a bad way. People can take these relationships to the heart and way too serious. Others wouldnВґt take it too seriously and wouldn't care. Relationships can make people stronger and also people can make them miserable. People can have a bad relationship with their family. For example, the story, ВЁWithout Title: for my father who lived without ceremonyВЁ by Diane Glancy. In the story, a girl never appreciated her father until she grew up and realized her father was sacrificing everything for her and the family. My personal experience is I never would appreciate my parents until I grew up and now I have a great relationship with both. Now, I really appreciate them for every little thing they do for me and the family. I even appreciate my older brother because heВґs like a second father to me and heВґs like my best friend. A lot of people have a great relationship with...show more content... For example, ВЁThe Glass CastleВЁ, itВґs about a memoir of Jeannette Walls and itВґs about every detail of her life of the past and future. Herself and her father have a very special bond together but when she grew up and finally realized how her father really is, their bond really changed. She thinks her dad is a bad father when she was in her high school years. My personal experience is about my very close bond with my best friend. We're going to know each other for 3 years, but our bond isn't the same. Someone came into his life and changed everything. Now, I wonder if we're still best friends. A bond you have/had with a significant other won't be the same or can be the same it depends on what goes on in each other's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. As usual, people have three relationships during whole their lives: romantic, friendship, and family. While family is one of the longest lasting relationship over all. There is identified as the strongest relationship and the most effect to personal characters. Unlike other relationship, family affection is cultivated during a long time by sticking together and blood related. Even the family relationship is not dreamy and romantic as loving relationship, not funny and comfortable such as friendship. But that is the most reliable people can believe in. In my opinion, all relationships in society are a test but family. After a while, not easy to understand because of my young, I have realized that all parents love their children...show more content... Therefore, I took my focus into Interior Design which one I love the most. With unlimited passion, I always try to do my best because I really really want to study that major. One day, when I request myparent's permission and tuition fee to apply to art school, without thinking, they said "NO" like they never supported me before. After a fierce quarrel between me and my parent, they decided to incinerate my sketching and drawing book to warning me. It has not stopped there, they threw out all of my art supplies and oblige me become a pharmacist. All progress were suddenly happened and I was wondering what was going on. Next that day, my parents purchased too many chemical and biological books for me. At that time, they would say that if I still want to study interior design, or they would not support me by providing money per month. Studying interior design in Vietnam is not easy to self–cover all costs because the art supplies are too expensive throughout the learning process. There was the worst time that I never want to memorize. I was indignant about my parent. I cried a lot, confine myself in the bedroom, and hopefully my parents will change their minds but not. I felt extremely disappointed because they did not keep their promise, and why they did not talk to me earlier. The atmosphere between the members of the family is very scary. To conclude, I think that we need an conversation to speak out of our minds. My parents always behave in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Family Relationships With My Family For two year, the first year my mother left dad, we lived with my maternal grandparents. Although, I was toddler at the time I still acknowledge their efforts and support for a period my family needed it the most. They occasionally visited for Christmas and for four of their granddaughters' quince, including mine. I visited them four times in Mexico. Because they live in Mexico is it hard to keep constant contact with them. But they both had a huge influence and I have great respect for them. When they visited Nebraska, they stayed in the household for a couples of weeks. The most important extended family relationships are with my mom's sisters and brother who reside in Nebraska. The most important relationship outside my immediate family is with my cousin Brenda because she is my best friend. We are only three months apart from each other and have many similarities. We attended elementary and high school together. I honestly do not think our parents would have handle us in the same middle school. We both attend UNL for our undergraduate. This year she moved to Colorado for graduate school. I spend a lot of time at her house, therefore, her parents had a huge impact on my upbringing. Her parents, my aunt Carmen and uncle Javier, would also take my sister and I out for entertainment. Some of those include Disneyland, Worlds of Fun, and Oceans of Fun. My aunt was very aware of my family relationship and the hostile relationship with my dad, that I think she also invited us Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Family Relationship A primary relationship in my life would have to be with my mother. This may sound a little strange; however, I used to not be around my mother often. My mom and I had a bad relationship when I was growing up. We fought constantly, or she was never home to support me. Despite this, my mother and I have a very good relationship now. I tell her everything about my life and we go out to lunch and mingle. She is very supportive, listens to my problems, and she tries to help me with my needs. The fundamental attribution error states that there is an error in the explanation for another person's behavior. My mom and I did not understand each other at all. She always thought that there were external attributions affecting my behavior. However, they were internal. My mom did not understand that others were not making me angry, it was her. She would ignore me and exclude me. My mom and I used to argue non–stop about everything when I was growing up. For example, when I was in seventh grade, I had recently bought my own perfume,. However, the perfume that I bought was Axe women's perfume, which has a very strong fragrance. One day before school, I appently sprayed a little too much of the perfume, and my mom did not like that. She started screaming at me and we started to quarrle about my perfume. Eventually, my mom threw the can outside busting the whole bottle so i could no longer use it. I left for school, and for the remainder of the day I was angry with my mother. • 8. Characteristics Of Family Relationships A famous poet Joseph Brodsky once said, "Cherish your human connections: your relationships with friends and family." I am Milagro Falcon my sisters' opposite, my mothers' follower, and my friends' deepest supporter. A relationship can constitute many things not just a romantic relationship. As a young adult I still have not had a romantic relationship with someone yet that does not mean I do not have other relationships. I do have a certain relationship with my family and friends thus my relationship personality and relationship personality traits differ. There are various theories and terms that can explain the characteristics of a relationship. An example would be friendship love which is love based on common concerns and interests, companionship, and respect for the partner's personality and character. As a young adult social learning theory has shaped my mom's views into my own leading to sibling rivalry bringing more flavor to the family, also my relationship with my friends has spurred as altruistic love. What is social learning theory and how has it shaped my relationships? Social learning theory as described in the book Intimate Relationships, Marriages, and Families by Nick Stinnett states it is a theory that suggests behaving in relationships by modeling their parents' behaviors and attitudes. To me it means the way a person's parents acted in a relationship thus the child mirrors in later relationships. My mother has taught me the basics like do not eat my buggers and eat with my mouth closed everything parents basically teach a child. Nevertheless, the core values I learned from her relationship with my father is to be independent, and communication is key. I did not have a male figure in my life till I was six years old. At that age I started to see what a family is like and the foundation of one. I quickly saw the difference from when it was just my mother and I. Before seeing my mom in a relationship, I had already seen the sense of independence and it just moved along in the relationship. My mother did not go to school, but she never depended on a man. Even when she was with my step dad she was still independent making her money and doing her owns things while still being in a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Family Dynamics Although they endure some vague differences, the similarities in the character relationships in "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" by Joyce Oates and "Fences" by August Wilson are remarkably clear and merit a rigorous investigation. Therefore, focus will be placed on the relationship differences and/or similarities of comparable characters in each writing, to expose how the family dynamics of parents, children, and siblings can often be influential, ambiguous, and frequently even lacking. In both the short fiction and the drama we are introduced to families, however, each come from different economic and societal backgrounds. Consequently, those backgrounds are factors in the family dynamic forces in each writing. The family in "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" is a middle–class family that lives in the suburbs, which includes a mother, father and two daughters. In contrast, the family in "Fences" is a low–class, blended city family with a father, his wife and three children by three different women. Nonetheless, neither family has been relieved of the struggle of complicated relationships within. Despite the social status, the family relationships portrayed by Oates is in a much darker place emotionally than the family depicted by Wilson. The main character in "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" is Connie, the daughter of the family. She has a non –existent relationship with her father as Oates proclaims, "he was away at work Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Family Relationship Once a close friendship is built with someone, eventually, a relationship with their mothers has to be established; whether it is a close or just a comfortable relationship. We all have felt or acted a certain way toward our friends' mothers. The friendships I have established with some of my friend's moms are handled at different extremities, ranging from "nice weather we're having" to the coffee talks. Each has a different personality that allows us to classify them into certain groups; some are cool like the one you are unusually close to. There are also those mothers in which you try to limit conversation like the one that thinks she is cool and the one that barely partakes in verbal interactions, the strict mom. The mother you are unusually close to could have heart–to–hearts with you even when your friend is not present for a long period of time. You could easily talk about politics, your lifestyle, etc. If she were the same age as you, it is likely the two of you would be close friends who hang out all the time. She welcomes you into the family and her home always. The way she dresses is classy chic; she wears black heels from Louis Vuitton, skinny faux leather pants, and a red flowy shirt. My friend's mom never failed to welcome me excitingly at the door, especially when we haven't seen each other in a while. Needless to say, I was very excited to go to her house mainly because I wanted to see her mom. It was an unusual "friendship" her mother and I had. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Family Relationship I have a very close relationship with my parents. My mother's name is Becky she has always been very caring and she has stuck up for me ever since I was little and unable to do it myself. My Father's name is Lonnie he has taught me how to be strong and has shown me how to do different activities like how to build stuff and fix cars. I tell my parents pretty much everything we have a very trusting relationship I never had a curfew and I was able to go where ever I wanted whenever I wanted as long as I let them know where I was going to be. My sister Mahayla and I have a very unique relationship she is like my best friend. We are very close and spend such a large amount of time together that every once in awhile we must have some time apart because we have spent too much time together. My family expects me to be the best person I can be and to do everything with my fullest potential so that I can always be proud of what I have accomplished. I can always depend on my family to be there when I need them and be supportive of what I do. Along with my immediate family my relationship with my extended family is also very close, especially on my mother's side. My grandparents are very caring and supportive of me and always come to all of my events. My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was younger and my grandfather has shown me that no matter how old you get you can always be fun and crazy. • 12. Sibling Relationships And Family Relationships Over time the relationships you have with your siblings change, you can start out not liking each other and then in later life being to love or tolerate each other ("Brothers, Sisters and Aging Parents", 2014). Late adulthood is defined as being over the age of sixty–five (Later Adulthood, n.d.). The sibling relationships is forced relationships that are maintained by the siblings to foster a lifelong relationship (Martin, Anderson, & Rocca, 2005). Siblings play very different roles for each other, friend, competitor, manager, and teacher (as cited in Martin et al., 2005). Sibling relationships can be of three different types: Brother and brother, sister and sister, and brother and sister, all three will be discussed. Brother and Brother relationships out of the three types seem to have the least amount of telephone contact of all the types (Spitze & Trent, 2006). Tend to help each other more with giving help to each other than receiving help from each other, brothers tend to help with giving advice over helping each other with transportation (Spitze & Trent, 2006). Brothers would rather receive help with child care then be the brother providing the child care (Spitze & Trent, 2006). Brother relationships tend to be completive with each other trying to outdo each other. Brothers tend to visit each other about three times a month (Spitze & Trent, 2006). Brothers tend to help each other with repairs more than any other sibling type (Spitze &Trent, 2006). Sister and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Causes And Effects Of Family Relationships Chapter 1 –Family Relationships Family relations refers to the relationship (of blood, marriage, adoption, etc.) amongst different members of a family. Strong Family relations are considered to be the most significant factor for the overall growth and well–being of a child. Healthy family relationships encourages the spread of good habits from the parents to their children and teaches us new ways of thinking, acting and feeling. Other inspirations includes friends, teachers, buddies, and other acquaintances, but they are comparatively temporary.
