2. Personal Hygiene and its Scope
• Personal hygiene means the
science of preserving and
promoting health through the
active efforts of an individual.
Personal hygiene is entirely
within the scope of an
individual. It all depends on
how much importance an
individual attaches to his health
and what is his attitude
towards his /she .Such clean
habits as taking a bath every
morning, wearing neat and
clean clothes, brushing teeth in
the morning and evening,
cutting the nails short, keeping
the hair clean, washing hands
with soap and water etc. are
the scope of personal hygiene.
3. Sense organs and their Care
• Our body is made up of many
organs. We have five sense
organs: eyes, ears, nose, skin
and tongue. These organs
work together. They help us to
know what is happening
around us.
4. Care of eyes
• Eyes are the most delicate
organs. We should be careful
to protect the eyes from
injury.
• We should wash our eyes daily
with fresh, clean water.
• We should not rub or ouch
the eyes with dirty fingers or
a dirty handkerchief.
• Always study or read in a
proper light.
• We should not watch TV
closely for a long time.
5. Care of Nose
• Don't let dust accumulate in
your home.
• Clean your house regularly.
• Maintain proper humidity
levels in your home.
• Avoid smoking or inhaling
second-hand smoke.
• Don’t use sharp objects to
clean the nose.
• If we feel any kind of pain
inside the nose we should
consult a physician.
6. Care of Tongue
• GENTLY clean your tongue
with a tongue scraper or
toothbrush.
• We should not use finger to
clean the tongue.
• We should wash our tongue
with fresh water everyday.
• We should not eat things
which either very hot or cold.
7. Care of skin
• We should take a proper bath
everyday.
• We must wear suitable, clean,
comfortable clothes
• We should not wear others
clothes.
• Our clothes must be washed
clean and undergarments
changed daily.
• Whenever we have a cut or
boil on the skin, we should
wash it with some antiseptics
so that no scar is left on the
skin
