25. 1) Start With an Interface Diagram
 Every person is different and navigates differently.
 The design needs to be flexible.
 Create a clear road map to your user’s end result.
2) Be Consistent
 User should get same results with same behavior.
 Buttons in consistent place and look similar.
 ONE font for section headers and ONE for body text.
 Keep color schemes consistent.

26. 3) Develop a Standards Document
 Does not have to be a stringently detailed document.
 Define places for client where you want consistency.
 When standards are breached, refer to the document.
4) Explain, Explain, Explain!
 Give good direction on your website or application.
 Buttons should have clear direction.
 Labels on the navigation should be informative.
 E-commerce should assure security and accuracy.

27. 5) Don’t Frustrate Your User!
 If the user can’t find the info they will get frustrated.
 If frustrated they won’t return or will review poorly.
 User will get lost if the interface is too cluttered.
 Keep it clean and simple.
6) Be FAMILIAR!
 Design that steers the eye to where it should be.
 Left to right, top to bottom.
 Keep user-interface balanced and patterned.

28. 7) Content, As Always, Is King
 Edit content of site to use clear and succinct wording.
 Use text that is search engine-friendly and sensible.
 Use complete sentences, be positive, use active verbs.
 Error messages should be nice, clever, and accurate.
8) TEST, TEST, and TEST AGAIN!
 Try to make mistakes and evaluate what happens.
 Is it easy to recover from your mistake?
 User should be able to guess what to do next.
 Refer back to interface diagram if problems arise.
