Electronic Fuel Injector
Electronic Fuel Injection uses various engine
sensors and control module to regulate the
opening and closing of injector valve.
It consists of
• Sensor system
• Fuel delivery system
• Air induction system
• Computer control system
Advantages
• Increased power and torque
• Improved volumetric efficiency
• More uniform fuel distribution
• More rapid engine response
• Precise control of the equivalence ratio
• Better working in cold-start and engine warm-up.
Working
• Electrical Fuel Pump
• Pressure Regulator
• Fuel Injector
• Injector Pulse Width
Fuel Delivery system
Multi port injection System
One injector is located in each
manifold runner .ECU controls
injectors by pulsing their
current .Injectors spray fuel
directly into intake port in
front of intake valve .
It has two types
Types
• Speed – density system
• Mass air flow
Throttle body injection System
Also called central body
injection system has
single injector mounted in
throttle body .Fuel is
sprayed into intake air
entering the manifold
.Fuel pressure is
maintained at constant
pressure .
FEEDBACK SYSTEMS
The engine operating air/fuel
ratio is maintained close to
stoichiometric through the use of
sensor called oxygen/lambda
sensor .

  • 3. Electronic Fuel Injector Electronic Fuel Injection uses various engine sensors and control module to regulate the opening and closing of injector valve. It consists of • Sensor system • Fuel delivery system • Air induction system • Computer control system
