An Traveling Photography Exhibition Opens in Davenport College

2. IDEA
We want to build and sustain an optimistic
campus by inspiring the Yale student body
through “Perspectives of Happiness”-- a
photography exhibition that travels to several
residential colleges before it ultimately
reaches Cross Campus in April 2012 as an
outdoor exhibition and festival.

3. VISION
The exhibition celebrates and promotes the
diversity of perspectives at Yale, intercultural
understanding and the shared value of happiness.
All funds raised through the exhibition will benefit
SmileTrain, a charity organization that literally
gives children their smile back.

4. THE OPENING
-WHEN: 7.00 - 8.15 pm
- WHERE: Davenport Gallery & Common Room
- WHAT:
- A delicious dessert buffet with Tiramisu, Tres Leches
cake, a chocolate fountain, fruit and marshmallows
- Soft music playing in the background
- A donation box for SmileTrain
- interactive gallery elements (i.e. in-gallery photo booth to
take pictures of guests, a videography installation, asking
people to write down what makes them happy on post-its)

element of our exhibition is a broad diversity of perspective. Members include: Dean of Timothy Dwight John
Loge, University Chaplain Sharon Kugler, her husband Duane Isabella, the Timothy Dwight dining hall manager
Jeff Kwolek and building superintendent Jeanne DeChello as well as Meredith Miller, a New Haven based
photographer who got her MFA from the Yale School of Art.
