3. 1- Proper Fractions

or < 1.
• Examples :1/5, 2/5, 3/5, and 4/5.
4. 2- Improper Fraction
• An Improper Fraction has a
numerator larger than its
denominator and represents a
quantity greater than the whole, or
> 1.
• Examples: 6/5, 10/5, and 27/5.
5. 3- Mixed Fractions
• Mixed numbers are whole
numbers and portions less than 1

• Like fractions are fractions that have the
same denominator. On the contrary,
unlike fractions have different numbers
as their denominators.
• Example for like fractions: ¼ , 2/4, ¾.
• Example for unlike fractions: ½ , 2/3,
