Business Case Challenge
Through SuitUp, volunteers from Moody’s and students from South Bronx Early College
Academy participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they were tasked with
creating a new product or service for Nike for the target market of their choosing. Volunteers
coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize.

About South Bronx Early College Academy The South Bronx Early College Academy (SBECA) Charter School provides a rigorous and comprehensive liberal arts education to students in the South Bronx through a challenging, New York State Common Core standards-aligned curriculum. SBECA believes that every scholar deserves a safe supportive environment in which to learn, grow, and prosper.

  • 4. 4 Business Case Challenge Through SuitUp, volunteers from Moody’s and students from South Bronx Early College Academy participated in a SuitUp business competition in which they were tasked with creating a new product or service for Nike for the target market of their choosing. Volunteers coached students in various departments before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize. Winning Team: Nike Cleaning Kit Team 1: Hover Shoe Team 3: Nike Hover Watch Team 2: Keep it Clean SuitUp to the Challenge Team 4: Nike Cleaning Kit

Competitions Make a Difference… 95% of students feel more confident in school and preparing for a career after working with SuitUp and their coaches 100% of volunteers believe their company made a positive impact through SuitUp 100% of volunteers see SuitUp as a way to encourage more students to explore their industry or company AFTER SUITUP...

Moody’s Impact SuitUp asked students if Moody’’s SuitUp competition made an impact on their future career choice. 92% of students said that engaging with the volunteers influenced their career choice and now they can see themselves using skills such as communication, teamwork and public speaking. Students are now interested in exploring the following fields: Business Administration / Entrepreneurship 21% Education 25% Graphic/Web Design 25% Fashion Design 21% Financial Services 8% Marketing 17% Media/Public Relations 17% STEM 13% Other 13%
