10. Management Information System
Used by KFC:
Each KFC outlet use MIS in accounting, knowing
production, and very useful in formulating HR
policies.
MIS systems can provide predictions about the
effect on sales that an alteration in price would
have on a product which is very useful for KFC
future development
11. DSS (DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM)
MIS systems let the KFC management
Access stored information easily and manipulate it
for the needs of their clients’ while billing or taking
order
Control flow of information of kfc
Produce reports for themselves so that they can
compare their own performances with their own and
other.
Record and track outcomes.
Manage marketing information to further improve
sales.
And a host of other information related functions.
13. MAIN PROBLEMS WITH THE
SYSTEM
1.Manual ordering sytem
The store manager counts the stock manually and
orders as required. This leads to time consumption
as the store manager has to manually count each
and every box.
2.Additionally, during the research it was also found
out that during one of the busy days they had run
out of stock for fries and chicken because the
manager had forgotten to count the stocks.
14. Another key area is the preparation of the daily
roster. The daily roster is prepared manually by
the store managers. They do this by calling a team
member and confirming their shifts for the next
day
Moreover the roster is not available online and as
one incident happened two team members may
report for a single shift.
15. ERP SOLLUTION FOR THE
CHALLENGES
KFC found that while it could upgrade its ERP
solution, JD Edwards Financial Management
Module, to meet its expanded needs
Despite being close to selecting another ERP
solution, KFC Singapore chose Acumatica
because:
best return-on-investment
most well-rounded feature
extend the capabilities of the product
freedom to provide access to all authorized staff
at the corporate office.
16. BENEFITS OF SWITCHING TO ERP
KFC Singapore was able to save about $50,000 in
IT resources because the Cloud model
significantly reduced IT administrative costs.
KFC was impressed that the suite came with a
strong set of modules with no additional license
fees, such as tools to manage fixed assets and
sales and purchase orders.
The combination of unlimited user licensing, a
powerful but user-friendly interface, and a
browser-based solution allowed KFC to provide
access to all of its HQ employees, who could
interact with the corporate ERP in versatile way.
18. Building an interface that is easy to learn and use.
Based on this rule, we only used images that users
can understand easily, to identify icons. We also
made it easy to return to any level in our menu
structure system.
19. KFC SWOT Analysis
Strengths
o Brand Equity
o KFC secret recipe of 11 herbs and species
o Very strong internationally
o Strong Franchises all over the world
Weaknesses
o Lack of knowledge about their customers
o Lack of relationship building with employees,
customers and suppliers
o Lack of focus on Research &Development
20. Opportunities
They have the opportunity to expand their sweet
products
They can open more outlets to get maximum market
share
They can open temporary outlets in peak season in
the hill stations like naran, kaghan, swat etc.
They can capture more customers by decreasing the
price of their products
21. Threats
Rated 83 out of 100 in terms of
competitiveness
Increasing inflation rates directly affect menu
prices
Supermarkets and new competitors
Health Trend away from fried foods
22. CONCLUSION

User friendly ERP system
Speeded up the process of inventory, sales
and revenue report’s generation.
Switched to Acumatica Solutions from JD
Edwards Financial module.

Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.10 to JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0
incorporates improvements for financial
management, supply chain management
and human resource management.
