Globalization represents an unavoidable phenomenon in the history of mankind, which is making the world smaller and smaller by increasing the exchange of goods, services, information, knowledge and cultures between different countries, therefore, it is very important to understand the "why, where, what and how" of our current situation.
FOR EXAMPLE: FOOD– WHEN WE EAT SAMGYUPSAL, KIMCHI, THESE ARE KOREAN FOOD BUT WE DON’T NEED TO GO THERE JUST SO THAT WE MAY EAT OR TRY THESE FOOD
We experience globalization knowingly and unknowingly in our lives. So this is the movement of people, ideas, money, of culture globally.
This is not a new phenomenon the silk road which is an old trade route between china and the Mediterranean area allowed for the exchange of not only goods but also of ideas and of culture. So, what is new however, is the range the scale and the speed at which this movement is happening.
Think of your smartphones and the global coordination it took from assembling the parts of the smartphone to the marketing until to the point where that phone gets into your own hands.
Or think of this covid19 pandemic and how it has reached people around the world, faster than lightning speed so it was something that was just concentrated in wuhan china and now it’s everywhere and has made changes unprecedented changes all over the world.
So of course many have attempted to define what globalization is.
So globalization is a term that came into
Borderless world is a concept of globalization where the goods, services, technology, information, capital flow through the borders from one nation to other. In this present day world of globalization, components may be produced in one country, assembled in second country, marketed in third country and financed from fourth country.
Netflix is a good example of a Borderless Business because "instead of trying to sell American ideas to a foreign audience, it's aiming to sell international ideas to a global audience."
Advances in technology such as mobile phones, airplanes, telephones and the internet have made the growth of transport and communication networks possible. Amongst other things, this means that people and countries can exchange information and goods more quickly; and in a less complicated way.
There are, therefore, many sides to globalization which affect almost all aspects of life causing me to think that the chain of positive and negative effects will continue to grow further. What’s important is to realize that globalization itself is neither good nor bad. It just depends how the people deal with all the new possibilities in the future.
