3. WHY GENEALOGY IS IMPORTANT TO
THE LATTER DAY SAINTS
For Latter-Day Saints, genealogy is a way to save more souls
and strengthen the family unit.
Mormons trace their family tree to find family members who
passed before the Mormon church came into existence so that
they can be baptized by proxy in the temple.
They believe it is their religious duty to discover their families and
submit their names for temple ordinances.
