WORK EXPERIENCE
2005-present Nowsco Well Services/BJ Services Company Canada.
Team Leader - Acid Engineering. Responsible for quality control and
generation of acid stimulation treatment proposals, providing customers
with technical recommendation on treatment design as well as engineering
support to field personnel. As well responsibility include post treatment
analysis, modeling of proposed acid frac treatment using Meyers, Gopher
and supervision and training of engineers in the acid group.
2005 Senior Technical Advisor - Acid Engineering. Responsible for generation
of acid stimulation treatment proposals, providing customers with technical
recommendation on treatment design, as well as engineering support to
field personnel. Treatment include matrix acidizing, acid fracturing,
nitrogen treatments and pumping of any fluids that do not involve sand
fracturing.
1999-2005
Senior Technical Advisor - stimulation laboratory. Main duties included
core analysis (using a Scanning Electron Microscope and core flow
equipment) and preparation of Geological reports used to make treatment
recommendation. Also responsible for performing acidizing and fracturing
routine testing and instrument maintenance. Testing includes – acid
compatibility, stimulation fluids properties and frac gel rheological tests.
1997-1999
Team Leader (Coordinator) of the cementing laboratory. Supervision of
every aspect of Nowsco’s cementing laboratory operations. Duties
include– product development and their implementation into the product
line; training of customers and Nowsco’s personnel on cementing theory
and development of products; advising the engineering and sales
2. departments on job blend choices and cement job design: supervision of up
to five employees.
1993-1997
Cement Laboratory Technologist. Responsible for performing daily
cement testing, research and instrument maintenance. Testing includes -
fluid loss, thickening time, free water and rheology of cement slurries. Also
worked research projects, developed and tested new cement products and
additives. Performed water analysis using various instruments including
AA, IR and HPLC. Provided on-call support, blend recommendation and
problem solving for field personnel, engineering group and customers.
Taught cement supervisor school. Created and gave cement
technology related presentations.
Safety, Health and Environment Committee Chairman - responsible
for creating and instituting safety policies (waste disposal,
orientation, training, etc.) for the lab, holding safety meetings and
overseeing personnel safety training.
1993 Yugraneft (NowscoR).
Hired to manage a laboratory in Nizhnevartovsk, Siberia on rotational basis
Completed a six months training period in well cementing and well
stimulation techniques at Nowsco Research Center. Training included the
use of all cement testing equipment, slurry design, well acidizing and
fracturing techniques.
1987-1992 AGAT Laboratories.
Started as a Junior Laboratory Technician.
After six months promoted to Senior Laboratory Technician.
Responsibilities included gas-chromatography determination of oils,
gases and condensates. Also was responsible for the component break-
down of chromatographic charts and their interpretation. Monitored daily
operations of gas-condensate lab and performed equipment maintenance.
In 1988 promoted to Hydrocarbon Laboratory Coordinator Assistant.
Was responsible for assisting the Lab Coordinator in supervision
and operation of the hydrocarbon laboratory.
In 1989 promoted to Branch Manager (one year term). Was responsible for
daily operation of AGAT's Fort St. John branch.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
During the Olympics, volunteered as a host-translator for the Soviet Olympic team.
Volunteered for several Winter Festivals as a host for World Cup speed Skaters.
