Background
 Oversized impact

disembarking wheelchair

response to this escalating
problem.

carry out a detailed design
of the access
modifications.
 Warrington Borough

provide an urgent
response.

Our Approach
 At short notice, RSS
prepared a contractors
proposal document that
detailed how the barriers
and ramps could be
successfully modified during
a short 9 day shutdown
period.
 Within 3 days of receiving
an instruction to proceed,
RSS had mobilised a highly
efficient subcontract
diamond sawing team to
reduce the width of the
concrete barriers.
 All site work was supervised
by a Company Director thus
ensuring Client satisfaction.
 All work completed in 7
days.

Results &
Benefits
 The Contractor led outline
specification ensured that
the solution was buildable in
the limited time available.
 Further design issues were
resolved on site by
competent personnel
empowered to make
decisions – delays were
eliminated
 Additional labour was
brought in at short notice to
carry out additional work –
again, delays were
eliminated.
 The closed bus bays were
reopened for use a full two
days ahead of schedule.
 The Client’s loss of revenue
was minimised.
