Mesopotamian societies By Ms. H – September 2010
Mesopotamia Students engaged in a group societal simulation, where they were required to complete 5 cultural tasks: 1. 	Creating Laws; 2.	Designing Architecture; 3.	Writing a Pictorial Language; 4.	Trading; 5.	Creating a Top Secret Invention
Reading through the task
Discussion and decision making
We are working in pairs – 1 pair will create the laws; and the other pair will work on the language and architecture. We will complete the rest together.
Remember we can’t talk to each other, just view our various pictorial languages.
The top secret invention requires each group to trade for materials to create a ‘catapult’. The first society to complete this task, ended the simulation experience. Ask your child why this was the case!
