• Stonewater Control Systems was absorbed by its main Investor and made a base for
multiple holdings in North Carolina, serving Energy, Defense and Homeland Security.

• Chairman, CEO & Founder of Stonewater Control Systems (SCS), Inc.
• Energy Management Applications on a world wide accessible cloud-platform.
• To grow SCS, a private investment round was initiated . Round I sold out within 4
weeks, while retaining 67% of SCS at a $4M pre-money valuation. In 2002 a second
round followed with an increased valuation by factor 4 .

2. • Toyota US, leading to energy saving of 15% in the first year.
• SCS expanded on the East Coast with Keystone Energy, in cooperation with Echelon.
• SCS also expanded in the Midwest, adding institutions such as the Art Museum of
Chicago, (manage highly climate sensitive environment), 4MW Prudential Towers,
Museum of Science and Industry and Chicago’s prominent Commercial Solar Power
generating sites with display at ComEd Pavilion in the Millennium Park.
• Expansion to the West Coast included adding Automated Demand Response (ADR)
to the Sacramento Municipality District (SMUD) with electronic dimming lighting

• Landis & Gyr, implement ‘TQM & Kaizen’ in the US and 16 European Countries,
cumulating in building a “Balanced Score Card” (n-dimensional data modeling).
• ComEd, Chicago, development of a 200MW Demand Response program in 1998.
• Multiple Municipalities and Investor owned Utilities, such as PECO, Georgia Power,
NYPA (largest customer, the World Trade Center with 200MW peak load).
• Stonewater Software, has been operated with low overhead and proved to be
efficient with 7 employees, augmented by contractors, from local Universities.
• Conversion to Stonewater Control Systems, Inc. (SCS) for capitalization.
1983 - 1987
• Career in the US started in Elgin, Illinois (near Chicago), with the newly founded
manufacturing subsidiary of Siemens/Flender.
• Director of ‘Data Processing and Organization’, Flender Corp., a Power Transmission
Company with world-wide manufacturing and service subsidiaries.
• Integrate all aspects of the Elgin, IL subsidiary into the International Corporate
Administrative and Engineering/Manufacturing Network.
• The company grew from $4M to $40M during my tenure.

Gerd Nierlich obtained his Masters Degree in Nuclear Reactor Technology and
Energy Technologies from the Technical University of Aachen. ‘National rankings
