2. WHAT IS DRUG
Drug is a substance which is used to treat a general ailment of body and
usually refer to medicine but under a defined dose.
 If a person takes a drug more than prescribed amount than he will
going to suffer from drug dependency.
 Dependency is a term used to describe the increased amount of drug
taken with respect to time as our brain will demand for more and more
amount of drug with time for generating same amount of pleasure.

3. POPULARITY OF DRUG AMONG COLLEGE GOING
STUDENTS
Nowadays drug abusing has becoming a mark of standard among people of
our society which belong to high economical class.
Even in universities it has became a bench mark for a so called image of a
cool person.
 Most abused drugs by students:-
 Marijuana
 Cocaine
 Heroine
 Alcohol
 Inhalants (Charas, ganjha)

 Rejection or Love failure
 Curiosity
 Maintaining economic status

 Running far from responsibilities of family

6. RISK FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH DRUG ABUSE
 Effect on the brain
 Family and social environment disturbance
 Health problems
 Affect on hormonal regulation.
 Mental health

Avoid undue peer pressure
Education & Counselling
Seeking help from Parents
Looking for danger signs
Seeking professional and medical help

8. WHAT STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN BY THE
SOCIETY, FRIENDS, UNIVERSITY
Society should not make isolate these type of people because they
need support.
Friends can make him aware about their future conditions which will
going to bad and they could provide love and affections to get out from
addiction.
University should take following majors to revert addiction:-
 University should provide immediate counselling on drug
addicted students.
 University should install CCTV’s in campus, around
cafeteria .

9. CONCLUSION
•Drug abuse is a complex problem thought to result from a combination
of psychological and environmental factors.
•Identification of drug abuse is a difficult first step on the road to
recovery because of the methods many abuses use to hide their addiction,
the inability of family members to recognise or accept the problem, and
the relative’s enabling behaviour.
•They just need love from family, friends,& society not separation.
•They just need right counselling.
