2. BUSINESS SUMMARY
Mobcast was founded in 2008 on the belief that consumers would purchase and read eBooks on
mobile devices. Since the end of 2009 Mobcast has concentrated its commercial focus on supplying
eBookstore platforms to some of the world’s largest brand names including mobile operators
Orange, SingTel and T-Mobile. Over the last 2 years, the company has built good traction by
increasing revenue by more than tenfold. This has provided a foundation to exploit major new
partnerships with customers who want to take advantage of both the growing demands of the digital
book market and the rapid adoption of smart phones and tablet devices.
According to industry analysis the global digital book market is set for extreme growth between now
and 2017 and Mobcast is ideally placed to capitalise on this opportunity. In a recent study by
Gigaom, a leading US research firm, it is projected the in the US market alone 114m people will be
using digital devices as their main source for reading by 2016, up from 12m in 2010. Throughout the
rest of the world projections are similar but with a longer maturity window.

3. The Mobcast Platform addresses six areas, or vectors, that position Mobcast as a complete solution
in the eBook marketplace. These disruption areas are, essentially, areas in which large scale market
shifts are taking place. Disruption in a market along certain vectors, like discovery, distribution, and
customer experience usually determines a market winner over the long term.
The first four areas are Distribution/Storefront, Hardware platform, Multi-platform access and
Publisher relationships. In today’s marketplace these are the main components of the eBookstore
platform. As the market has matured there is very little difference between the main players in the
market. The Mobcast Any Book, Anywhere platform has equivalence to those platforms.
The remaining two areas Customer Base and Book Discovery are the areas that Mobcast is set to
disrupt the market. Mobcast has an easily replicated platform that can be utilized by the world’s
leading brands allowing them to participate in a global market that is predicted to be between $25bn
and $50bn by the end of the decade. Mobile operators, device manufacturers, traditional book
retailers and brands that service digital consumers like Facebook, Ebay, AOL and Yahoo have an
opportunity to participate in the digital book market. 2
4. To support this opportunity the world’s six largest publishers have created a fixed price model for the
sale and distribution of eBooks. This creates a level playing field for any new entrant into the eBook
market. The Mobcast ‘white label’ digital bookstore platform will enable the world’s largest brands to
leverage their digital customer base and achieve revenue from the sales of eBooks, without
compromising their brand status.
In the last year much has been written about digital content discovery and why traditional search does
not deliver the needs of the consumer. Where search engines deliver results based on specific
keywords, discovery delivers awareness, search is a one-time result, discovery is on-going, search
produces an expected result, discovery the unexpected. To support this focus the recent purchase of
Chomp by Apple Computer to revamp its content discovery process In iTunes and the Appstore is
relevant. Mobcast has created a patent applied for book discovery engine that will revolutionize the
way the reader finds his next great read. In conjunction with a unique user interface the Mobcast book
discovery engine will allow Mobcast’s distribution partners enhanced sales conversion rates and
provide consumers access to books that would not normally be found through traditional search
criteria that the market leaders continue to utilize.
