A silhouette refers to the outer
shape of the garment.
The silhouette should adhere to
many of the elements and
principles of good design, line,
flow, form, proportion and
balance.
It's about shape and outline.
terms such as "hourglass" "pear"
"apple" "bouffant" are some
standard silhouette terms
commonly used.

8. Different types silhouettes?
A-Line – This is a silhouette, usually of
a one-piece garment, flaring gently at
the waist or hips, thus resembling the
letter A.

9. H-Line – This is a
silhouette, usually of a
one-piece garment,
going straight from
shoulder to hip, and
crossed at the waist with
a belt, cuff or other
accent, thus resembling
the letter ‘H.’

10. Empire — This was a
popular silhouette in
the early 1800s, the cut
features a waistline just
below the bust and a
skirt that flows down all
the way down.
Empire silhouettes is best for body with
pear shape i.e. with bulky hipline . It
helps to hide bulky hip as it has flares
from bust line
