4. YOUNG SMOKERS
Nowadays, among young people, smoking has become very popular.
The fundamental reasons are the following:
-teenagers start smoking because their friends smoke , so they wish to be accepted
-young people want to be indipendent and "do" what is forbidden so that they can
demostrate how they rule themselves. That's why they break the rules
-when they smoke, teenagers feel like adults and they desire to be adults
-teenagers begin smoking for fun or to be desiable, as they desire to be "cool"
Teens usually start smoking between the age of 13 and 18 but hardly ever after the
age of 20.
5. YOUNG SMOKERS P.2
This means that there's a big difference between "teenage mind" and "adults mind".
For example, teenagers think that if their friends smoke and they don't, they're not
cool, and they have the fear of not be accepted.
Adults do not need to emblate their friends to be accepted so they don't care if most
of their friends smoke because they think carefully before making choices.
The problem is that smoking is one of the main causes of lung cancer.
Adults also realize how difficut is to stop, teenagers give more importance to be
"cool".
In conclusion if you start smoking as a teenager you risk adopting an addictive habit
that is unwanted, unhealthy and expensive.
