With limited resources and a mandate to eliminate poverty and its causes, it will come as no surprise that charities such as World Vision need to continually innovate. This includes using games and game thinking in our operations, including fundraising, advocacy, recruitment, and in the field. By taking a virtual tour of the good, the bad and the ugly of gamification in the charity sphere however, it will become evident our big goals require help from equally big brains. With that in mind we'll provide you with practical ways to use gamification for social good and partner with charities.

Game maker have the power to create worlds. Like charities, they have the power to imagine something better.
Most charities work to create a world where everyone lives with dignity. Unlike world peace, this is achievable. Perhaps in our lifetime.
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7164/6579972765_d66f46b7a7_z.jpg > It has become increasingly hard for charities to cut through the noise of everyday life, and Apple product launches, and engage Australians in a meaningful manner. Charities also have to compete with each other for hearts, minds and wallets. To do this we need to continually innovate.
Game and resource centre aimed at increasing knowledge and conversation about child labour within schools and homes.
In this reality game we fight together against the mosquitoes that transmit malaria in the warmer regions of our earth. More than 1 million people die from this disease every year - many of them are children under age 5. Malaria is a preventable disease -- therefore we call on you to join our fight against mosquitoes. We want children worldwide to grow up without the fear of contracting this terrible affection. Are you a Mosquito Cuddler, a Mosquito Fighter, or even a "Mosquinator"?
Social game developed by Verge Games.
The Half the Sky Movement is cutting across platforms to ignite the change needed to put an end to the oppression of women and girls worldwide, the defining issue of our time. Inspired by journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn's book of the same name, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide brings together video, websites, games, blogs and other educational tools to not only raise awareness of women's issues, but to also provide concrete steps to fight these problems and empower women. Change is possible, and you can be part of the solution
The Game is supported in large part by the Ford Foundation, with additional support provided by the Rockefeller Foundation, Intel, United Nations Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts
These games all do a good job, but none have truly harnessed the power of gaming.
Charities come in all shapes and sizes. The best advice I can give you is to find a cause that you’re passionate about and go with them
