3. Introduction
In this eBook, the first thing you will be learning about is the major scale and how to
create and play the major scale. This is a staple to knowing the theory behind chord
creation, and approaching how to play the chords on the piano. Not only will learning
the major scales help in learning how to play chords on piano, but if you are interested
in songwriting, this will greatly benefit you! We will touch upon songwriting in this
eBook, and even give sample chord progressions which you can practice and use for
your own songs!
The second thing we will be going over are the different types of beginner chords
available to us for playing! These chords can be used in playing your favorite songs,
Rock, Pop, Jazz and any other style you wish to play!
Daily Practice is required in order to learn these chords and scales. Practice at least 30
minutes a day to see results. If you practice, you will be playing all of your favorite
songs in no time! As you learn the chords, we encourage you to use the chords in
order to play your favorite songs. You can look up the chords to almost all of the songs
ever created at https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/
The eBook is ideal for those who wish they could play piano at a later age. This is just a
crash course into chords and playing your favorite tunes. It is a lot of information being
thrown at you in a short amount of time, but the most important thing is that you pace
yourself. You don’t want to overload yourself with work because the most
important thing is not knowing it for today, but retaining it for tomorrow. If you get
stuck on an exercise, or getting to know the chords, do not move on! Stick to that
section of the book until you are ready to move on!
You will be well on your way once you learn the first four chords of the series because
you will be able to play millions of songs with just the first four chords you will learn!

4. Chapter One: Major Scale
There are many, many types of scales in the music world, but for this eBook we will just
be focusing on the major scale. The major scale is one of the most important scales
used for popular music of today. Most of the chords within pop songs of today actually
come from the major scale. So how can we play a major scale? Simple!
Locate two black keys in the middle of the piano. Once located, we need to look at the
black key that is to the left of the grouping of two. Once you locate the black key to the
left of the grouping of two, slide your finger down to middle C. Below is an image of
middle C on a keyboard.
Starting from this key, we will be playing the C major scale. We will be talking about the
C major scale the most in this eBook because this is the easiest scale to play, and you
can apply what you learn on the C major scale to any of the other scales that you will
learn. Lets Begin!
Lets note the numbers we use for our fingers so that we know the exact fingering for
the C Major Scale. The Fingering does change for some of the other scales, not all but
some. Below are our finger numbers!
