3. Stage 1
This was the stage where I had just trimmed the face
from the background using the magical eraser tool in … As
you can see, I used the guides to ensure the text was
centered and the two faces were equidistant from the
text. I choose a white background as I felt it had a
clinical feel to it. Moreover, the title effectively stand out
making it clear to the viewer the title of the film.
4. Stage 2
In this stage, I added the tag line to accompany the title
and added a black block at the bottom. I felt this looked
more appealing and I had found other poster
examples which had featured this idea. However, by
adding the black block, this meant the letter 'E' was not
entirely readable. This was an issue I needed to fix.
5. Stage 3
In this stage, I added the billing block using a font called
'steel tongs' which I downloaded from the internet. I used
the guide which accompanied the font download. I used
previous research and internet resources to establish
what information needed to be displayed in
the billing block and what order to list them in. I also made
the tag line bolder so it could stand out and changed the
colour of the 'E'. I originally decided to try and make the
title fade into white by using a gradient change. I searched
online for tutorials and successfully completed this. Despite
this, I did not feel the title was effective in standing out.
This caused me to have just the 'E' in white and not use a
gradient.
6. Stage 4
At this stage, I was almost complete. The white blocks
underneath the billing block represent the titles
for 'Written by', 'Produced by' and 'Directed by'.
However, the font was not correctly displaying these
titles so I replaced them with white blocks for the draft.
In the final product, I will have found a solution to this
issue.;
7. Magazine Development
This is my draft for the magazine cover. Unfortunately, I did not
have time to complete the magazine front cover as I
was not able to access it due to sickness. Moreover, poor time
management may have meant I focused too much on
the poster meaning I cut myself short of time.
There were several problems while making the magazine
cover. The first problem was that the title 'Movie Maker' is not of
high quality which meant it became pixelated when enlarged.
This means that I had to find an alternative font which
was similar to recreate the effect. The second problem was due
to the magic eraser tool not working effectively due to the
contrast between the people and the background being so
low that it could not detect between the two. This resulted in
areas of white. Despite using tutorials and other tools, such as
changing the brightness etc., I could not remove the white
without removing other parts of the image. This means when we
take the photo for the poster product we will need a high
contrast meaning using lots of light.
