3. AIR POLLUTION
Air pollution
is contamination of the
indoor or outdoor
environment by any
chemical, physical or
biological agent that
modifies the natural
characteristics of the
atmosphere.
WATER POLLUTION
Waterpollution is the
release of substances into
bodies of water that makes
water unsafe for human
use and disrupts aquatic
ecosystems.
LAND POLLUTION
Land pollution refers to the
deterioration of the
earth's land
surfaces, at and below
ground level.
NOISE POLLUTION
Noise pollution is generally
defined as regular
exposure to elevated
sound levels that may lead
to adverse effects in
humans or other living
organisms
4. GLOBALWARMING
A gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's
atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by
increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCS, and other pollutants.
As the greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere the Earth gets
hotter. This process is leading to a rapid change in climate, also known
as climate change.
CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING
6. Causesof soil
degradation:
While soil
degradation is a
natural process, it
can also be caused
by human activity.
In the last few
decades, soil
degradation has
been sped up by
intensive farming
practices like
deforestation,
overgrazing,
intensive
cultivation, forest
fires and
construction work.
