 In this part we will study 4 types of reactions.
 Suzuki, Heck, Sonogashira and Biginelli reactions.
 Suzuki, Heck and Sonogashira reactions are
classified as:
• Cross-Coupling Reactions.
• Palladium Catalyzed Reactions.
• Base Catalyzed Reactions.
 Biginelli Reaction is classified as:
• Cyclocondensation Reaction.
• Acid Catalyzed Reaction.
•One-pot, three components reaction
(Multicomponent Reaction).

3. 1 – Suzuki Coupling Reaction
• Cross Coupling Reaction.
• Also named as ( Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling Reaction).
• Is used to creat ( C – C ) bond.
 Reactants: Organohalide & Organoboron
 Medium: Pd(0) cat & Base.
 Product : ( C – C ) coupled product.
 Note that Suzuki Reaction is characterized by its Boron
metal in reactants.
