Do you know that everyday, people die from lack of information, A
Work of Faith Ministries (AWOFINC) is a non- profit organization working
to ensure that families and youth receive information necessary to
significantly reduce illiteracy, unemployment, youth gang activity, drug
and alcohol abuse, violence and homelessness. We serve nearly 500
families around Chicago and its northern suburbs. We trained 40 parents’
leaders whose mission is to organize other parents, to rebuild our
neighborhoods by supporting the violence prevention efforts. Carol
Vialdores, mother of five children, is one of our parents’ leaders, she says, “
There is a lot of violence, parents are struggling for their kids to live a
normal life, I decided to join AWOFINC programs because I wanted to build
a village, teach parents and youth to make a strong community”
Our program has grown considerably due to the needs of the
communities we serve. Our events can gather up to 4000 participants. As a
result of this growth, our program must move into a larger facility.
